Chapter 180: Meeting for the future
Giving these extra meat pieces made the relations with the many groups that they had connections with even better.
They brought in more meat so that they could get more share out of the corpses.
This made their business even better which was unexpected for Lucas.
Lucas had no idea that this could happen yet John's facial expression had told him that he knew it all along.
No one outside the shelter had told anyone that Lucas had such a dismantling skill. The others only knew that many of the people of Lucas's group knew how to and had the skill of skinning.
Which made it easy and fast for them to skin the corpses and even get time to cook. Explore more stories at My Virtual Library Empire
If they get to know that Lucas had to do nothing but activate his skill and use his mana and just wait for the dismantling to get complete on its own.
It would blow them away with envy.
Lucas trusted his people with this information which also led him to think that if someone other than his group were to know about these skills other than his family, then he would find the ones that are not trustworthy easliy.
Up until now, his main target was Sean but lately, he had been a pretty decent person. Lucas looked around when finally, he went inside the shelter again. There was not much challenging stuff near the shelter, animals and wild monsters had already stopped coming near them.
Lucas went inside the shelter and saw that most of the people were already sitting in groups laughing and talking with the ones whom they had a bond with. At this point, many had bonded with each other, but it was safe to say that many were still not getting along with each other.
John and Bill were one example, they only talked when it was direly needed. Bill knew his duties clearly so he didn't ask for small details again and again.
Lucas looked at Bill who seemed to be talking with Sandra, they both had a dire look on their faces yet Lucas could feel that Bill was even more pale.
He didn't seem sick but his eyes had huge bags under them making him wonder if Bill had even slept for a few days now.
He did not know why but he activated his perceptive eyes while looking at Bill.
Bill only had a dark aura around him and that seemed normal because he had the affinity of darkness within him yet another dark aura came from an equipment of his. The daggers.
'The hell?' Lucas felt like the daggers were something sinister as they didn't only exude out the darkness affinity but also a sinister one that Lucas was trying to get a hold of.
He felt like it was too similar feeling with his mark yet he deactivated his skill.
'I will just have to talk with him later.' Lucas thought vigilantly as many people who had nothing to do with it were around, Lucas didn't want to make them all involved with things that he felt were dangerous.
Many were looking at him right now, seemingly waiting for the meeting to start.
"Thank you all for coming at such short notice to this meeting, but beware that I did not call you for some normal voting or anything. You all are going to have to contribute to this discussion so don't hesitate and just speak your mind. Alright?"
"Mhm" Sarah nodded while looking at Lucas, serious enough to not care about the gossips that Haley and Elena whispering to each other.
Lucas after looking at them all one by one sat in the one space that was left, it was the same that he sat on while they did most of their meetings. It was easy to look at everyone from this place.
"Alright, there is a situation in front of us that needs to be settled. It seems… that we have too much stuff in bulk inside the storage. Haley, tell me what we have that is taking a lot of space."
Haley who was first talking with Ella while giggling in whispers became attentive and after what seemed like a small thinking session, she started addressing the amounts.
"We have a variety of stuff in the storage and the ones that are in most abundance will have to be the meat. We have too much meat in the storage. There are 16 big shelves on all the walls together and meat is occupying 6 of them."
"Hm… and what about their qualities? Did you check if some of them that have been there for a month now are rotting or not?"
"Uhh… the thing is, on Uncle John's command, the group ate and cooked the meat that was cut a month ago first rather use the one that was still fresh. It seems there is no wastage for now."
"How? Uncle John? I don't think we ate that much in this month."
"A single person eats about 4 meat slices each day. So I knew that the wastage was just around the corner, in order to not let them rot, I made Haley cook all of them and started asking for all the things, the leather, the bones, the mana stones, everything other than the meat from the other groups.
They didn't mind giving the stuff as long as they got extra meat so it was all used up real quick." John explained with calmness making Lucas think that John had seen a long way and implemented these things behind his back.
'Why didn't he tell me?' Lucas thought and by John's face, Lucas could tell that John knew what he was thinking about. So he just showed his hand with a smile.
"No need for explanations, Uncle John, you did what you thought was best and it has clearly benefited us a lot. Thanks."
"No problem, always there for help." John read under the lines and knew that talking further about this topic could make things turn a bit ugly.
