Chapter 178: New leather equipment?

"But how did you know how to make it? I mean, Did you know about the recipe already?"

Barney seemed to be very curious about the skill. Discover hidden tales at My Virtual Library Empire

"I didn't know how to do it but the runes that I already know about just made it happen."

"So it was a fluke?" Lucas said teasingly.

"NO, it wasn't! I had to practice a lot. It's not like your dumb potions-making, you idiot."

"Dumb potion making? See how I give you this batch of potions, you jackass!"

Both of them started bantering, making sure to one-up each other when it came to their special trades.

John just looked at the both of them and chuckled, it was not always that these people had such lively conversations so John let things loose until it got out of hand.

A smack on Sean's head made him stop while Lucas stopped on his own to respect John.

"We got sidetracked, now tell me, how much time does it take to make one smoke bomb, Sean?"

"Well…" Sean went in his thought process giving the others some time to relax their minds.

"I had to sand that rock for a long time, couldn't just inscribe the runes on an uneven surface. I also failed due to misspelling the runes again and again so that is that. I guess an hour for one at my level? Yeah, that would be right."

"An hour is long but I think with each smoke bomb, your practice and level-ups will lessen the time taken."

"Mhm"

"Then I guess this has been a fruitful outcome for everyone, right? Oh! Uncle John, what did you make?" Lucas said and asked with curiosity as John was the only one left to show the fruits of his labor.

John just smiled and went to his small workshop to bring a small leather thing in his hand. It looked crude but fine at the same time.

"What's this?" Lucas's curiosity got even better. He couldn't make out what it was as John had crumbled it in his hand.

"You see and tell me yourself." John handed the leather thing to Lucas's hand who looked and un-crumbled it quickly.

"Hm?" Lucas made a sound of confusion when he saw a system message pop up in front of him. He moved his gaze and saw the description, his eyes widening with each passing time and letters.

——

Crude Arm Guard

Uncommon Grade

+2 Defense

The most basic form of defense made from a fair-quality leather piece. Due to the persistence of the maker, the arm guard was made on the first try. Some potential of the leather was wasted because of the maker's inexperience. After wearing the arm guard, the wearer can have an increased defense by 2 points.

Durability- 70/70

"A description!" Lucas shouted instinctively, shocked beyond measure due to the find.

"Really? Let me see." Barney took it from Lucas's hand and knitted his brows in order to get the description yet it took time than Lucas.

He had a smile of pride on his face as he looked at his father who made it. The reaction was weaker than Lucas's as Barney didn't understand the actual importance or breakthrough John had for the whole group.

"An equipment with a description, that means you can make clothes and armor for the whole group with defense! What luck! We can even try selling them to others at high prices."

John seemed to be even happier when he saw both his sons and Lucas react in such a way. He knew that now that his making was acknowledged by the system as an actual equipment with a description.

He could only make it better from this point.

The leather arm guard was exactly what it sounded like, a guard for the arm made of leather.

From the front, it was a patch of leather with a lot of holes at the sides, and at the back, there were plant fiber ropes that were even thicker than normal due to braiding them together.

At one glance, Lucas and the others could tell what the use for the ropes was, it was to tie the arm guard according to their preference.

John watched with pride as Lucas and Barney examined the Crude Arm Guard, their excitement on display.

The realization that he had successfully created equipment with descriptions was a significant breakthrough for their group, and he couldn't be happier.

"Now we just need to know what we want in trade for these leather equipment that Dad will make or even my smoke bombs."

Lucas went silent and looked at the wall with a dazed expression as if thinking hard. Sean had actually hit the bullseye with the question.

Everyone in there was thinking about it.

"Haahhhh… this is such a unique situation. While the others are even struggling to provide food for the group. We have ample of everything!" Lucas said after thinking a lot.

"Food, leather, herbs, even better herbs, wood, stone, even iron now, swords, spears, axes, shovels, even furniture. We got everything that others can offer in bulk already."

"What about the mana stones? How many do we have in the storage?" Lucas asked John who had all the numbers of the inventory.

"Let me have it checked by Haley." John opened his system and called Haley, they were in the basement and it was a hassle to actually go up and down again and again for menial tasks.

In such a situation, the option to have long-distance calls was bliss.

After three minutes, Lucas frowned as he looked at John who seemed to still be in the call.

"How many, just the approximate will be fine, Uncle John."

"Wait a bit, Lucas. The storage has been filled to the brim and things are scattered everywhere, she is making a stack of stones in the corner while Sandra is counting them."

"How many till now? 20? 30?"

"Yeah, just add a zero to them and you will get the number counted till now."

"…"

"We too rich for our own good huh… Lets have an official meeting to brainstorm about this later."
