Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 130: Finally awake

Lucas remained at the corner of the shelter, a whole day passing as he rested without waking even once.

Though his condition had shown significant improvement, his face still bore the marks of the tough day.

The swelling had reduced, but it remained evident that his injuries had been pretty severe.

Notably, his left eye socket had healed to some extent, yet his pupil remained clouded, resembling the appearance of someone afflicted with a severe case of cataract. The continuous healing efforts had not fully remedied this particular issue.

Ella had told all the people about Lucas's condition. His whole body was filled with severe burns that may have been fixed from the outside but the burns being very deep and severe was taking its dear time to heal.

Ella had drunk around 5 liters of the mana potion till now and it was observed that the more she overdrank it, the more its effects were weakening.

After a whole day and a few more hours, Lucas finally groaned, the only time a voice came out of his mouth out of all this time of being unconscious.

It was like the healing may have been doing wonders but still, the body needed time to recuperate.

After the groan, no sound came out of his mouth and Ella kept healing him unconditionally.

At the same time, everyone was sitting around a fire while making conversation.

"I still don't understand how those creatures came..."

"There was a literal hole in the air."

"I think I saw a hellish atmosphere and land through that hole, imagine living in such a place," Mike said and shivered while imagining himself in that place filled with lava and heat that they felt coming out of the hole

"Let's leave that thing in the air behind, what about those texts we got? Were they normal?" Haley asked with seriousness.

There was a log section in the system where everyone could look at the past texts in order to see how much experience or missions they got.

"It said 'entertain the gods'... I don't know what to believe at this point..."

Everyone went silent, there was no good explanation for what was happening, the gods were something most o them adored and respected while also feared at the same time.

When they read the part where they had to entertain the gods while fighting to death with such dangerous creatures was already confusing and dangerous enough but after everything was over, the messages that came from the system were more disturbing than ever.

[Congratulations on killing the weakest-level demonic creatures and completing the quest successfully!]

[The gods find pleasure in your actions and may seek further patronage from you in the future, much like this one.]

[Rewards gained- +5 in all stats, 3 Uncommon weapons, 2 random Uncommon blueprints.]

This was the message they got after killing those three abominations.

Everyone felt uncomfortable for a while thinking it was just nausea after going through such a situation. But then they realized that there was an increase in each and every stat they had.

Part of the reason other than the healing for Lucas's quick recovery was due to this natural increase in stat changing his body for the better.

But the rewards they were promised at the end of the quest completion were nowhere to be found making many have a fit of rage and annoyance.

At first, they were placed in this situation randomly, and then to make matters worse, they also couldn't see the rewards.

In the end, when they couldn't find the stuff, in order to preserve the remains of the creatures that they killed, the group made their way inside the shelter only to see some papers right in the middle of the shelter.

These papers were the rewards that they gained, in order to respect Lucas as the leader, not a single one of them looked at the stuff they got and simply kept them inside the shelter.

Lucas was having a hard time while he was unconscious, the pain was immense but he had no choice but to subconsciously feel it without a single stop.

Another day slipped away, lost to the burden of his injuries. The days he had once been ahead of others in skill proficiencies were now but a distant memory, erased by the prolonged healing process. His level of proficiencies was on par with, if not weaker than, the rest of the group.

Finally, after two days, Lucas opened his eyes which were pretty dazed and unfocused due to not opening them for a long time.

But something was definitely wrong this time, it was like his vision was half of what he had before and panic filled his heart quickly.

No matter how strong he showed himself to be, Lucas was still an inexperienced brat to some point without any age experience.

He got up quickly and sat on his hips making his back pain a lot.

"W-What?" Lucas finally realized something, he was blind from one side, and his left eye had no vision at all making it hard for him to realize that all this was real.

"Lucas!" A feminine shriek invaded his ears and two hands enveloped him in a tight embrace.

Lucas was going to grunt but he didn't, he gritted his teeth to control the pain he was feeling.

"Sarah! Be careful, his condition is still not good." Ella chimed in and tried to get her to loosen her grip.

Lucas couldn't see that Sarah was the one who was hugging him. She was on the left and Lucas's newly found blind side was the same. He had to move his face completely in order to look at her.

Sarah had tears streaming from her eyes while she whimpered silently. The embrace was warm and Lucas felt relief from her.

He did not know why she was crying but he still caressed her head softly in order to try calming her down.
