Chapter 156: Siege
"Well done!" Nezha laughed heartily, showing no fear as he wielded the Fire-tipped Spear to meet the Bull Demon King in battle.
This time, however, the battle was different from the previous grand battle with Monkey Sun. The Bull Demon King clearly abandoned his usual tactic of going all-out, opting instead to fight smarter, never using more strength where less would suffice.
Nezha, with his three heads and six arms, unleashed countless treasures upon the Bull Demon King. Yet, the Bull Demon King, wielding his iron staff skillfully, was unfazed—Nezha, surprisingly, could not overcome him in a short time.
"This Bull Demon King is formidable, to still have the energy to battle the Third Prince like this," Precious Moonlight Buddha exclaimed involuntarily. He was even more eager to recruit the Bull Demon King into Buddhism, thinking that such a powerful warrior would immediately become an unparalleled force for his side, greatly aiding future strategies.
Meanwhile, Li Jing looked worriedly at the battle below, concerned for Nezha's safety. After all, the strength of the Bull Demon King was evident to everyone present. What worried him more was the mysterious figure behind the Bull Demon King; the information from the Jade Emperor had only mentioned that the Bull Demon King was manipulated by a mysterious person near Flame Mountain, plotting something there.
He had not been told the identity of this mysterious person, nor what exactly was being plotted, but anyone capable of silently manipulating someone as formidable as the Bull Demon King surely sought a rare treasure that must not fall into his hands.
Given the current situation, if the mysterious figure completely turned hostile and intervened personally, Nezha, with his realm and strength, might get hurt. Thus, Li Jing watched the battle closely, ready to prevent any mishap.
The battlefield below, however, was as fiery as ever. Beneath Nezha, there was a sea of fire, with purple-red flames soaring into the sky, radiating tremendous heat even the Heavenly Soldiers hiding in the sky could feel the fierce heat.
Standing amidst the sea of fire, Nezha seemed like an emperor among flames, with three heads and six arms, standing on his Wind Fire Wheels, his young face filled with zealous combat spirit.
"Fight!" Nezha shouted loudly, continuing his assault on the Bull Demon King.
By now, the Bull Demon King was drenched in sweat. After continuous fierce battles, his stamina had clearly declined, and the surrounding intense flames only multiplied his discomfort. Seeing Nezha approaching, he immediately thought of retreating.
Having made up his mind, the Nether River controlled the Bull Demon King to fight while retreating. He saw an opportunity, leaped up, and tried to escape northward, only to be stopped by the immense spell power of the Four Great Vajras from Secret Demon Rock on Mount Wutai, who said, "Bull Demon King, this way is blocked."
The Bull Demon King used Thunderclap but was blocked by a Vajra with a Buddhist Golden Body. Seeing that a prolonged attack was futile and Nezha relentlessly pursued from behind, he turned and headed south, only to be blocked by a Vajra from Cool Cave on Mount Emei with boundless mana, who was expert in Buddhism spells, blocking the Bull Demon King's way and making it difficult for him to advance.
Having no choice, he then headed east, but was again confronted by a Vajra from Mo'er Cliff on Mount Meru, who met him saying, "Where do you think you're escaping to!"
The Bull Demon King, by then utterly disheartened and unwilling to tangle further, turned and fled west, only to encounter another obstructing Vajra from Golden Mist Ridge on Kunlun Mountain. The Vajra swung his Subdue Demons Mace vigorously, blocking the way.
It turned out that Precious Moonlight Buddha, seeing the Bull Demon King's reluctance, had preemptively set up the block, trapping him.
Precious Moonlight Buddha, seeing his arrangement work, felt a relief wash over him. He had been sent here on a divine mission from Buddha and would have been ashamed to return to Mount Ling without having achieved anything. Now that he had effectively blocked the Bull Demon's escape, his efforts were not in vain.
The Nether River, upon seeing the situation, couldn't help feeling a chill. He did not know why he had attracted so many powerful beings. The Bull Demon King was his most crucial chess piece, and he did not want to give him up easily. Moreover, giving up now would mean completely abandoning the "Rules of Water."
Having strategized for many years at the Nether River, how could he willingly hand over the fruits of his hard work to someone else? A slight movement in his heart, and he controlled the Bull Demon King to fly towards the sky, only to find that Li Jing had already hung the Demon-revealing Mirror in mid-air, leaving him no chance to escape.
Seeing the Four Great Vajras from Buddhism blocking all directions, with the relentless Third Prince Nezha behind him, and Monkey and Li Jing and others eyeing him fiercely from above, Nether River suddenly realized that, unknowingly, he had fallen into the enemy's trap, like a powerless prey, only able to desperately wait for fate to unfold.
This was definitely not Monkey Sun's doing; the novice Precious Moonlight Buddha obviously didn't have such means either—it could only be Li Jing, who had led the Heavenly forces for many years and fought countless battles, had the capability to set up this silent and profound strategy.
"Well played, Devaraja Li, it seems I have somewhat underestimated you!" exclaimed the Bull Demon King, looking up at the sky.
"But catching me won't be so easy!" Just as he finished speaking, a figure suddenly appeared beside the Bull Demon King; it was none other than Princess Iron Fan.
Li Jing inwardly cursed in alarm, then saw Princess Iron Fan pull out the Plantain Fan, and with great force, she waved it, generating an endless gale that transformed into a massive tornado, spreading in all directions.
The fierce wind picked up endless sand and stones, creating a terrifying sandstorm, and instantly, the battlefield was plunged into darkness, where one could not see their own hands; the sand and stones lifted by the fierce wind turned into deadly hidden weapons scattering in all directions.
The Four Great Vajras utilized their Buddhist Golden Bodies, and within the dust, the four towering Vajras appeared, emitting a golden radiance; the flying sand and stones struck the Golden Bodies with loud crisp sounds, yet they failed to penetrate the golden wall formed by the quartet.
However, the Heavenly Soldiers and Buddhist Soldiers above suffered heavily, swept up by the fierce wind, with countless of them losing contact.
At this moment, Princess Iron Fan paid no mind to the swiftly depleting mana in her body, mechanically waving one fan after another.
"Damn it, this Plantain Fan is really troublesome!" Li Jing cursed.
Just then, a figure suddenly burst in, and in an instant, the roaring gale calmed, disappearing without a trace as if the previous gust had been nothing but an illusion.

Everyone looked intently, and it turned out to be Bajie, who had earlier been fanned into oblivion by Princess Iron Fan's Plantain Fan. There he was, holding a sparkling golden core in his hand, with a mischievous smile on his face.
"Keep fanning!" Bajie taunted.
It turned out that the fool had been fanned ten thousand miles away by the Plantain Fan, landing on an unknown mountain. He had intended to rush back to the battlefield quickly, when he suddenly remembered that he was near the Dojo of Lingji Bodhisattva.
After all, he was once the commander of the Heavenly Water Army, Marshal Canopy, knowledgeable and well-acquainted with some important figures in the three realms. Knowing that this Bodhisattva had a Wind Steady Pill, he therefore asked for one.
Having obtained the Wind Steady Pill, he then hurried to the battlefield, arriving just in time.
