Infinite System Inheritor Return From The Abyss

Chapter 326: Terracorns

"GUYS! DODGE SIDEWAYS! THEY CAN'T TURN FAST!" Nayoung's voice echoed across the field loud and clear.

The three in the field finally heard her.

Hannah's eyes lit up, then she quickly turned to Minseok. "I-I'm sorry… I'll do better now. Thanks, Minseok. Let's think of this as learning."

Minseok didn't even have time to reply. One of the beasts, its gray skin thick like armor and legs pounding the ground heavily, charged again. Dust flew up as it missed them by a few steps, its movement stopping in a harsh slide.

"Yoora!" Minseok shouted while still holding Hannah. "Can you handle them? We have to figure out what kind of beast these are, but they move too much!"

Yoora landed on her feet after a quick dodge, her breathing a little fast but her stance strong. She wiped the sweat on her forehead and looked at the two of them.

"Tsk tsk tsk…" she said, half annoyed, half amused. "A tamer and a healer. I just realized I'm in a no-good group."

Hannah quickly raised her staff and used her skill. A soft golden light surrounded Yoora, giving her a light buff—her speed slightly increased and her body felt lighter.

Yoora smirked, rolling her shoulders. "Alright. I'll handle this. Just hurry up and figure them out!"

She ran forward, her body now faster thanks to Hannah's buff. One of the beasts tried to charge at her. But Yoora stepped sideways quickly, just like Nayoung said.

The beast couldn't turn fast—it crashed into the dirt, then groaned as it tried to face her again.

Minseok squinted, observing the other one. "They don't use their tusks to attack. They try to crush with their body weight."

Hannah nodded, watching closely. "Their eyes… they only focus on what's directly in front. They're blind on the sides."

Minseok watched the beasts closely, his eyes scanning every movement, trying to match what he saw to something he studied before. He bit his lip, thinking hard. "I know this... I've read about these before... but why can't I remember?!"

Suddenly, the two beasts stopped in place—snorting, stamping their heavy feet—then turned their heads sharply. Their beady eyes locked onto Minseok and Hannah.

"Oh no…" Hannah whispered. "Minseok… they're looking at us."

Then the beasts roared—not loud, but deep and heavy like a rumbling earthquake—and charged.

"MINSEOK, RUN!!" Hannah screamed as she grabbed his arm.

"Damn it, I can't think properly!" Minseok panicked, stumbling as he pulled Hannah to the side with him. His thoughts were jumbled, the pressure too high, and the beasts too fast.

On the high ground, Elshienne, still tense with worry, stood up straighter and yelled, "Minseok! Look at the way they stomp their feet before charging—it's always the left first! They're predictable!"

Nathan frowned, but added in a sharp voice, "They also raise their heads before charging. You can time it."

Minseok's eyes widened. "Left foot… head lift…"

Pieces finally started coming together in his mind.

Nayoung clapped her hands excitedly from behind. "Yes! Yes! That's it, Minseok! You're almost there! I believe in you!"

Elshienne shouted again, voice more focused this time. "Minseok! Think! They only charge in straight lines, they don't chase in circles. Remember now!"

Minseok's eyes sparked with realization. He turned, pulling Hannah behind a pile of crates, and suddenly everything made sense.

"I remember now!" he shouted. "These are called Terracorns! They're from the Sabar Wilds. They're elephant-hippo hybrids. Heavy tank-type beasts. They charge but can't adjust quickly. Their weak spots are behind the front legs and under the neck!"

Hannah, still catching her breath, looked up at him and smiled. "You really remembered... Good job!"

Yoora, still dodging the second beast, yelled out, "THEN DO SOMETHING WITH THAT INFO, GENIUS!"

Minseok looked at Yoora, who had just run to their side. She was breathing hard, dirt on her face, but her eyes were sharp. Without saying anything, she lifted both hands, and glowing blue chains came out from her palms.

The chains didn't fall like real ones—they floated in the air and moved like they were alive, wrapping around her arms and then snapping free again. It was clear that Yoora knew how to use them.

Behind them, Hannah raised her staff. Her hands shook a little, but she kept her voice steady. "I'll give you both a buff! Hold on!"

A warm golden light surrounded Minseok and Yoora. Hannah's enchantments made them faster and stronger.

"Thanks," Minseok said quickly, then looked at Yoora. "I have a plan. We need to make one of them fall. When it's down, I'll hit its weak spot—either under its neck or behind its front leg."

Yoora smirked and spun her mana chains. "Tell me when."

Minseok pointed at the bigger beast. "That one's slower. I'll make it charge at me. When I move, trap its front legs with your chain. If it trips, we'll have a chance to strike."

Yoora nodded. "Alright."

Minseok turned to Hannah. "When it falls, give me a Power Boost."

"I will!" Hannah replied, ready.

Minseok moved into place. He waved his arms and yelled at the beast. "HEY! BIG GUY! OVER HERE!"

The Terracorn growled and stomped its foot. Just like Elshienne said.

"NOW!" Minseok shouted.

The beast ran toward him, the ground shaking under its weight.

At the last second, Minseok jumped to the side. Yoora threw her chains. They wrapped around the beast's front legs and pulled tight. The beast couldn't stop. It tripped and crashed to the ground with a loud bang.

"NOW, HANNAH!" Minseok shouted.

"I GOT IT!" Hannah said, casting Power Boost.

Energy filled Minseok's body. He ran fast, jumped on the beast's leg, and hit the spot under its neck with all his power. The beast groaned but didn't get up.

Yoora pulled her chains back. Minseok, breathing hard, said, "Yeah... that worked."

Hannah gave a small smile. "We really did it."

Just as they were catching their breath, no one noticed the second beast sneaking up behind them. It had been quiet, its heavy steps hidden under the sound of the first one falling.

"NO! BEHIND YOU!" Elshienne and Nayoung shouted,

Without warning, the second beast swung its thick trunk-like arm straight at Minseok's back.

BAM!

"Minseok!" Hannah screamed.

Minseok's body flew through the air like a rag doll. He didn't even have time to react.

But Yoora moved fast—faster than anyone expected. She jumped, her mana chains swinging behind her like wings. In mid-air, she twisted her body and caught Minseok, pulling him toward her.

They both hit the ground hard. Dust flew around them, but Yoora rolled with the impact, holding Minseok tightly to protect his head. Her back hit the floor, but she didn't let go.

"Ugh…" Yoora groaned, her arm scraped and bleeding a little.

Minseok blinked, shocked. "You… you caught me?"

"Of course I did, dummy," she said, wincing. "Don't die yet. We still need you."

Hannah ran to them, panic on her face. "Minseok! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," he muttered, sitting up with Yoora's help. "Just… wind knocked out of me."

"That's the female! be careful!" Elshienne shouted.

Everyone froze for a moment, processing what she just said. The beasts had seemed similar, but now that Elshienne pointed it out, it made sense.

Yoora, who had been standing with her chains ready, frowned. "How come the female is stronger than the male?" she asked, clearly confused. "Isn't that supposed to be the opposite?"

Minseok, who was still a little shaken but recovering, stood up. "Actually, Terraorn males are usually faster, but the females… they're stronger." He paused to catch his breath, still looking at the two beasts. "The males have more speed, but the females have more power. They're the protectors of the territory. The males mostly hunt."

Suddenly, Seojun snapped his fingers. The female attention shifted toward the male. She slowly walked over to him, her powerful steps causing the ground to shake lightly. The male Terraorn stood up. Together, they turned and started walking back toward the warehouse.

Minseok, still recovering from the fight, muttered under his breath, "The male isn't knocked down...?"

Seojun, cold and serious, spoke up. "No. He's still standing. That's why you need to be careful next time. The fight isn't over."

As the female Terraorn and the male walked back toward the warehouse, Elshienne and the others rushed to Minseok who sat down, who was still on the ground, breathing heavily. Hannah immediately knelt beside him, casting a healing spell. Elshienne placed a hand on Minseok's shoulder, concern clear in her eyes.

"Are you okay?" Elshienne asked, her voice soft yet filled with worry.

Minseok grimaced but nodded slightly. "Yeah, just need a minute," he said, clearly struggling with the pain.

Seojun ignored Nathan's growing frustration and Yoora's angry muttering. He looked at the group and asked, "What did you learn?"

Yoora, clearly furious at being ignored, crossed her arms tightly and shouted, "Are you serious right now?! We almost died, and you just want to know what we learned?!"

But Seojun didn't flinch. His gaze was intense, expectant. He wasn't going to entertain their anger. "Focus. What did you learn?"
