Chapter 28: Chapter 28

{A/N: I've done it! It's not my best work or anything but I managed to get enought inspiration to write some new chapters.}

3rd Pov – Nick Fury

The last year had been a turbulent time for Nick, starting his year the World Security Council had constantly pestered him for an increased weapons budget. After getting them off his back for that Nick then had to deal with the largest weapon manufacturer in the world being kidnapped.

To make matters worse at the same time most of his agents were deployed looking for the kidnapped billionaire, his intelligence department had intercepted a concerning email. Not thinking much of it at the time Fury had sent out his best agents to perform a quick capture operation.

Silly him, he should have known better. In all his years working for SHIELD he had amassed more experience dealing with aliens than any other human on earth, he should have known an unknown alien wouldn't have been that easy to deal with.

And exactly as he thought the alien was a menace, easily escaping his agents, the alien quickly adapted to human society. Hacking through some of the largest government bureaucracies in less than a day on earth it seamlessly integrated itself into society.

After following up as many leads as possible Nick was able to track the alien to New York, expecting to easily find it he was sorely mistaken. It took his agents weeks to first make contact with the alien, the alien itself was only found because it was blatantly walking along the beach after massacring some gangs.

The encounter didn't go well for his agents and they were thoroughly humiliated, the best agents on earth were incapacitated in less than ten seconds in front of the alien. Recognising the danger the alien possessed Nick ordered all his RnD departments to work on new equipment.

A week later Nick was sorting through documents when he received a priority message from a trusted agent he had stationed at the largest illegal weapons grade uranium trade in years. The message was short and simple 'Alien.'

Understanding the urgency Nick had quickly dispatched his two best agents to the scene, equipped with the most advanced exosuit technology they had available Nick was sure they could deal with the alien this time.

His expectations were subverted again though, waiting for his agents the alien sat lounging around among a pile of dead and unconscious people. Secretly panicking Nick had urgently sent this data to his phycology team so they could begin compiling a profile.

Back on the cameras Nick had noticed the alien was surprisingly chatty today, and seeing an opportunity he had asked his agents to find its motives. Surprisingly, the alien easily spilled all it's motives, it also revealed highly advanced technology as if it were nothing.

Considering his options Nick's thoughts were interrupted by a priority message appearing on his screen from the WSC, the message was simple. 'Don't engage, control the alien instead' smashing his fist against his desk in anger Nick understood the motives of the council.

But unable to do anything to the greedy bastards Nick ordered for his agents to retreat. Though when his agents tried to retreat their suits locked up, punching his desk repeatedly in anger Nick quickly added ranged technological manipulation to the growing list of known powers.

Sighing Nick realises he might lose his agents if they anger this alien, so he orders his agents to go along. It works surprisingly well and his agents are able to escape safely.

Over the next few months that followed Nick lost all track of the alien, he wasn't able to figure out which company it controls, where it lives, what it does, or anything else. The only time Nick caught hold of the aliens trail was when it sought out the Black Widow for another fight.

Finally, after a few weeks of no contact Nick was able to find something of interest, after thorough tracking of the mutant group known as the X-men his intelligence department had noticed a series of weird movements.

Starting with a massive explosion in their mansion the group then went on to fight an unknown foe in a rural town. After that, the group met up with the Brotherhood of Mutants, this occurrence truly worried Nick and caused him to turn his focus to this situation.

Afterwards the group took to the air and began flying to an unknown destination, using his advanced satellite tracking systems Nick was able to identify their path and mark a few potential targets. Chief among those targets was a rising tech genius just outside of New York.

Looking at the persons profile Nick got a vague sense of familiarity, unable to place the feeling Nick brushed it off and focused more on the main situation. Contacting his agents he ordered a group to get ready in case they needed to intervene.

Continuing to watch what happened next caused the dots to finally connect in Nick's mind. Stepping out of her house the rising genius transformed into a three metre tall dragonoid and alien humanoid.

Watching mouth agape the alien now identified as using the name Morgana took to the air and effortlessly flattened a huge area outside her house. Nick back in his office was rapidly making calls and jotting down information.

On the screen the alien and an unknown woman stood against the combined forces of the X-men and Brotherhood, preparing for the worst Nick prepped his strongest weapons. Suddenly though all the people except the alien, her unknown companion, and Charles Xavier collapsed to the ground.

Sighing a breath of relief Nick picked up a glass of water to take a sip, just to suddenly spit take when his satellite shows Charles's wheelchair turning into a mecha. Secretly plotting the potential uses of technology like that Nick tries to think of feasible plans to acquire it.

Watching on Nick is able to then bear witness to Charles getting his arse whooped by the unknown woman. Thinking it's finally over Nick is again forced to spit take when a massive armoured human crashes down to the arena.

Watching nervously Nick is surprised to see the alien teleporting everyone but itself and the new assailant away, it's at this point Nick's view is cut off as space seems to distort and contract upon the two.

Continuing his surveillance it barely takes a few seconds for the area surrounding their arena to be completely destroyed. Almost faster than he could see the fight both starts and ends; the entire fight took less than thirty seconds but in that time everything around was razed, apart from the house.

Warping again the space clears up and Nick is able to view the alien doing something with the severely mutilated man. Suddenly the alien executes the man and his body disappears.

Disappearing from the screen Nick has no choice but to raise the aliens threat level, as he continues to watch the empty plot of land a single highly complex robot tunnels into view. Face paling Nick realises with a sense of dread he never checked underground.

Picking up his phone Nick quickly orders a group to be sent out to the area to assess the underground area.

Another month and a half later Nick is looking over the latest reports, for the alien his greatest fears were confirmed and his group was able to detect a massive underground complex spanning tens of kilometres and branching out for hundreds more.

In addition, he wasn't able to buy up a controlling stock in the aliens company and only secured 0.9% of the company's stock meaning he had no way to control it. Sighing Fury looks through his second report.

This report comes from one of his best agents Phil Coulson who was sent to discover how Tony Stark escaped his imprisonment. Receiving a urgent alert a new video feed appears on Nick's monitor, on the monitor two mechanised suits are fighting in the streets of Los Angeles.

Off to the side Nick can see a annoying alien lingering, groaning in frustration Nick focus's his satellite camera's on the alien just in time to watch it beat the shit out of the larger mech and humiliate and traumatise it's pilot.

Secretly worrying Nick watch's unable to do anything as the alien approaches Phil Coulson. Luckily though the alien leaves peacefully and ends this encounter.

The next and most recent account Nick had with this troublesome alien was again through Phil. Just over a day after previously meeting the alien Phil again met her just this time in the middle of the desert.

Sent to investigate the mysterious appearance of a unknown supernatural hammer, Phil arrived on site just to find the alien watching them from a distance. After a brief interaction Phil left the alien and immediately reported to Nick, after that brief incident the alien randomly appeared and disappeared from the temporary base.

Starting to get used to the aliens M.O Nick assigned yet another task to the RnD department before clearing his schedule. He had decided it was time he himself met the alien, checking again with Phil though he realises he'll have to delay his visit a little.

1st Pov

It had been a day since my return from Asgard, at the moment I was sitting on my couch having fun playing a new indie multiplayer game similar to COD with Jean. Laughing at her silly choice our game is interrupted by a knock on the door.

Groaning I pause the game and move to the door, shifting to my human form I open the door and am face to face with a bald African American man with a eyepatch and wearing a trench coat.

Looking him over a bit I instantly recognise the legendary spy Nick Fury but take a while to decide whether or not I want to invite him inside. Holding the silence for a few seconds I stare unblinking into his eyes.

Shifting awkwardly after almost a minute of staring Nick looks around, scanning the surrounding I notice a few agents stationed around my house with interesting glowing blue weapons.

"Tell your agents to stand down Director Fury or none of them will leave, at the moment only half of them will leave anyway." – Morgan

Sighing Fury turns to the bushes.

"Stand down and return to base, also what do you mean only half will leave?" – Nick

Gesturing at the small crowd of agents climbing into a van that pulled up I also gesture at the second empty van behind it.

"You have some rat's in your organisation Nick, I don't like them much so I killed them." – Morgan

Staring blankly at me for a few seconds Nick quickly draws his phone, muttering to himself he begins dialling a number.

"Motherfucker. Hill …" – Fury

Cutting off his call I gently reach out and pluck his phone from his hand.

"Best you don't do that at the moment. You'd lose if you tried at the moment, instead work on it in absolute secrecy." – Morgan

"Morgan who's at the door?" – Jean

Hearing Jean from inside I step out of the doorway and gesture Nick inside, moving passed me cautiously I close the door behind us and return to my base form. Jumping away from me Nick's hand flies to the gun at his waist, chuckling at his pointless action I nonchalantly walk passed him.

Though as soon as Nick thinks I'm not looking he attempts to throw some bugs around my house, catching them with my psionics I gently return them back to his hand.

"I wouldn't recommend doing that, after all it's rude to spy on a lady." – Morgan

Sitting back down on the couch I pick up my controller again and check with Jean before unpausing the game. Behind me Nick walks around my house scrutinising everything. Since I first got my house I've made some massive changes.

Basically, rebuilding the entire thing from scratch, I remodelled it to include three bedrooms, one for Jean, one for me, and one guest room. I also included two lounge rooms, a hyper futuristic kitchen fitted with a chef's wet dream, and three bathrooms because I occasionally have quite a few guests.

Apart from the layout I increased the overall size of the house by scaling everything to my base form without making it awkward for humans, as for the material of my house it's made of a special metallic alloy from the Horizon universe and is typically used for cauldrons just designed to resemble an organic structure similar to a combination of vines and wood.

Overall, the interior of my house has a hyper futuristic and technological design whilst at the same time being stylish and comfy for both me and my guests. Raising a clawed hand, I gesture for Nick to sit in the armchair to my right.

Beating a new level with Jean I temporarily pause the game to do introductions. Starting with introducing Nick, Afterall Jean is my girlfriend and roommate and should know who our guest is.

"Jean this is Director Nick Fury of SHIELD. Nick this is Jean Grey, part time superhero Marvel Girl and full time girlfriend of yours truly." – Morgan

Emphasising my point, I hug Jean around the shoulders as she nestles under my arm. Watching Nick's mind, I can see him micro analysing each interaction and word from me and devising contingencies. Not liking the direction his contingencies are going I opt to cut him off.

"Oi keep Jean out of your contingency plans, if you disturb her I'll level your entire organisation." – Morgan

Gulping slightly Nick tries to use Batman tricks to hide his true thoughts, it doesn't work obviously as I can read every aspect of his mind simultaneously but I'll let him think it works.

Having enough with all the petty mind games I instead decide to get straight to the point.

"So mighty director, what brings you to my humble abode." – Morgan

Regaining his composure, I watch again as Nick's mind flicks through all his preplanned scripts, settling on probably his worst option I have to sigh at his arrogance.

"You are a extraterrestrial entity of unknown origins and power, as the head of the largest organisation in the world specialising in unknown powers it is my responsibility to assess you and decide whether you need to be neutralised or contained.

To that effect I have come in person to form a phycological profile on you and ascertain any unstated motives you may have." – Nick

Sighing again I decide to just give it to him straight.

"Your organisation doesn't have the power to back your claims, any phycological profiles you form of me will be useless and unknown to you I have leading stakes in almost thirty percent of all companies affiliated with your group and enough control of your entire civilisation to send you back to the stone age in less than a second." – Morgan

Blanching Nick didn't seem to know many of my points and internally starts to panic, leaving him be I gently wake the napping Jean who fell asleep like a cat nuzzled up against me.

Passing back her controller I make sure she's fully awake before unpausing the game, this time we manage to get through two levels of the campaign before being interrupted again.

"Um, Miss Morgana I would like to apologise for my earlier arrogance. I didn't realise the extent of the political power you wield and as such will now leave you alone." – Nick

Bowing his head slightly Nick seems to think mental games will work on me, they do. Part of my draconic instincts love the subservient attitude he has and my mood improves. Waving off his apologies I decide to have some fun.

"Apology accepted, how about you stay for a drink? It would be good to get to know you." – Morgan

Schooling his face Nick's mind whirs through thoughts as he tries to figure out what I'm playing at and to plan contingencies using my supposed appreciation of his subservient attitude, holding in my laugh I console myself imagining his reaction if he accepts my offer. Standing up Nick decides on a course of action.

"Sure, I'll stay for a drink, could I first go outside and make a call?" – Nick

"Go ahead I'm not trapping you." – Morgan

Waving Nick off I automatically open the door out to my gardens, watching Nick leave for a few seconds I pause the game and turn to Jean. Shutting the door, I reach into my inventory and pull out a vial of liquid.

"What do you reckon? Should I put some in his drink?" – Morgan

Giggling wickedly Jean seems to like my idea.

"Sure, make sure to tell him it's permanent." – Jean

Giggling along with Jean I float the vial to the kitchen, then stifling my giggles I gesture for Jean to do the same and let Nick back inside. Nick ever the strategist and spy immediately sits in the chair closest to the exit with laughable predictability.

"So, Nick, what type of drink do you want?" – Morgan

"Coffee please if you have it" – Nick

Reaching into the kitchen with my psionics I quickly brew a coffee as Jean and I continue our game, feeling the coffee has finished brewing I pour out a cup of it and add a dash of potion from the vial. Psionically grabbing two cold lemonades from the fridge I levitate the three drinks out to us.

Placing the coffee in front of Nick he sharply scrutinises it, not wanting him to delay the prank I quickly warp over to him and make a skin level cut on his neck before warping back faster than he could register.

Feeling the liquid on his neck Nick raises his hand and wipes it away, looking at his hand and seeing a drop of blood his eyes bulge in their sockets. With my attention still focused on the game I take a sip of my lemonade and address him whilst schooling my face.

"If I wanted to kill you, you would be dead before your brain could register it. It's not poisoned, drink." – Morgan

Lifting the cup, I have to hug Jean to smother her laugh as he takes a sip. Letting Jean go we both burst out into laughter as Nick erupts in a cloud of blue and pink particles.
