"Irisviel... did you feel something?"
Kiritsugu Emiya's voice was as calm as ever, or rather... as cold as ever. That icy tone sent a chill down Irisviel's spine.
"Kiritsugu, if you're asking me that, does it mean something really happened to Illya?" Irisviel's red eyes were filled with pain.
After a few seconds of silence, Kiritsugu reluctantly replied.
"Irisviel, you're not wrong. Yesterday, the Einzbern Castle was attacked. All communications, whether electronic or magical, were cut off..."
Upon hearing this news, Irisviel fell silent. She simply pressed her hand against her chest, letting her tears flow freely.
Kiritsugu could sense Irisviel's distress, but he remained composed.
"Irisviel, the situation with the Einzberns was unexpected. However, we can't let anything distract us. We must win the Holy Grail War."
"I... I know, Kiritsugu..." Irisviel wiped her tears, her voice hoarse.
Click.
After hanging up the phone, Irisviel looked up at the sky, trying to hold back her tears.
"Illya..."
Irisviel whispered her daughter's name. The reason she felt such pain was because her connection to Illya, who was also a vessel for the Holy Grail, had been severed.
And that could only mean one thing—death.
Meanwhile, Akira had just finished dealing with the Einzbern situation when he received a message from Asia.
[We have visitors? Alright, I'll be right there.]
"Illya, you and Sakura stay in the mansion. There are protective barriers here, and if anything happens, you can contact me through the mark I left on you."
"Okay, I understand, Akira!" Illya replied obediently.
"Illya, I told you before, don't call me 'brother.' Call me 'Dad,'" Akira corrected her.
"Akira, if you want to be Illya's dad, you'll need Mom's permission first," Illya stuck out her tongue playfully.
"Alright, alright. If Mom agrees, then Mom agrees. You little devil, are you that eager for me to save your mom?"
"I always keep my promises. You can rest assured," Akira said, pinching Illya's nose gently.
"Akira, if Illya doesn't want to call you 'Dad,' I will!" Sakura suddenly hugged Akira, making a bold declaration.
"Huh?" Akira raised an eyebrow.
"Eh?" Illya tilted her head, surprised. Was this something worth competing over?
"Alright, Sakura, whether you call me 'Dad' or 'brother,' it's up to you," Akira patted Sakura's head, comforting the two lolis before setting off.
Akira's departure didn't end the "Daddy Debate" between the two girls.
Illya was the first to speak up.
"Sakura! What are you doing? Akira never asked you to call him 'Dad!'"
"Illya! If you don't want to call him 'Dad,' what's wrong with me doing it?" Sakura shot back without backing down.
"You're just a sneaky cat!"
"Illya! You're one to talk! Who was it that asked Akira to help her mom first?"
"Helping my mom isn't wrong! What's wrong with wanting a complete family?"
"A complete family..."
Illya's words struck a chord with Sakura, causing her mood to plummet.
That's right. She... would never have a complete family again.
Seeing Sakura's sudden sadness, Illya felt a little guilty.
"Hey, Sakura, I'm sorry. It's my fault. Don't be like this, okay?" Illya clasped her hands together, pleading.
But Sakura wasn't listening to her apology. Her thoughts were already racing.
[If Illya can have Akira save her mom and become her new dad...]
[Then... can I also have Akira as my new dad?]
Ever since she was sent away by Tokiomi, Sakura had stopped seeing him as her father. If her father didn't want her anymore, then...
Wouldn't it be nice to find a new dad?
Sakura's thoughts spiraled out of control, and she couldn't stop them.
Meanwhile, after being summoned by Asia, Akira teleported to her location.
As soon as he arrived, he saw two beautiful girls—one with blue hair and the other with orange hair.
Xenovia and Irina.
Asia had called him back because the two had come to visit.
"Finally back, Akira Leviathan?" Xenovia's gaze was cold as she looked at the young man.
The other girl, however, was much more excited.
"Akira! It's been so long!! I missed you so much!!"
Irina rushed toward Akira, throwing herself into his arms.
Akira couldn't help but admire how well the Church's伙食 had treated Irina. The once tomboyish girl had grown into a stunning young woman.
"Akira, why didn't you tell me you were a demon?"
"My childhood friend, the one I swore to marry, turned out to be a demon... Do you know how much that shocked me?!"
Irina complained loudly, but Akira just smiled and patted her head.
"Alright, Irina, you're not a kid anymore. No matter where we are or what our identities are, the memories we shared are real, aren't they?"
Irina thought about it for a few seconds before nodding vigorously.
"Yeah! When I found out you were a good demon, I was really moved!"
With that, Irina hugged Akira even tighter, almost as if she wanted to merge with him.
Akira couldn't help but marvel at how bold the girls in the DxD world were.
As Akira held Irina and played with her ponytail, Xenovia couldn't take it anymore.
"Alright! That's enough!"
"Irina! We're here for business, don't forget your position!" Xenovia said sternly.
"Huh? Business? I thought we were here for a meal?" Irina replied, confused.
"A meal?" Asia tilted her head.
"Ahem... A meal is also part of the business. After all, how can we work on an empty stomach?" Xenovia coughed, using her hand to cover her slightly red face.
They were, in fact, broke. After this meal, they might have to sleep on the streets. But for now, they just wanted to eat.
"Miss Nao, is the table ready?"
"Yes, five people in total, including Miss Nao. Two guests have arrived."
After hanging up the phone, Akira glanced at Xenovia's stomach.
Xenovia's curves were impressive, but Akira couldn't tell if they were natural or the result of hunger.
"A demon inviting us to eat... I must say, the hospitality of the demon world is quite impressive," Xenovia said coldly.
Thud!
Seeing Xenovia's attitude, Irina smacked her on the head.
"Xenovia! Don't be so rude! Akira is treating us to a meal, so we should thank him properly!"
Xenovia lowered her head, her face turning red.
"Th-thank you for the meal..."
Despite her icy exterior, Xenovia was actually quite simple-minded.
At the dining table, Xenovia and Irina devoured the food like a storm.
"Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!"
Xenovia seemed to treat the food as demons she needed to exterminate, vowing to wipe them all out.
Irina, on the other hand, was more mindful of her image in front of Akira.
"Keep eating, but answer my questions as you do."
"Can you tell me how you found Asia?"
Akira was curious. He and Asia lived in different places, so if they were looking for him, shouldn't they have gone to his house?
"Oh, that's easy," Irina said between bites.
"Akira, didn't you take in a lot of former nuns from the Church?"
"Yeah, I took in quite a few."
"That's how we found you. The Church had placed tracking marks on some of the more important nuns, like Asia."
"After some incidents, the Church started monitoring certain nuns more closely. This time, Sister Griselda activated the mark on Asia to find her location."
"To find me? Did Griselda have any instructions for you?" Akira raised an eyebrow.
Griselda was an acquaintance of his.
"Akira, from the way you're talking, do you know Sister Griselda?"
"You could say we're... acquaintances."
Sister Griselda, one of the top five female exorcists in the Church, the Queen of Hearts under the Archangel Gabriel, and one of the strongest beings at the Maou level.
When Akira had intercepted the nuns from Diodora's hands, he had crossed paths with Griselda. After a conversation, she had allowed him to keep the nuns, respecting their wishes to stay with him.
"Akira, it's good that you know Sister Griselda," Irina sighed in relief.
"Aside from the Holy Sword retrieval mission, Sister Griselda also gave us a mission to retrieve the nuns."
"Please hand over the nuns, Akira, and let them return to the Church!"
Irina made the request directly, not treating herself as an outsider.
"Griselda wants me to hand over the nuns?"
Akira frowned.
What a joke.
She was the one who allowed the nuns to stay with him in the first place.
Now she wants them back? If she's changed her mind, why doesn't she come herself?
Why send two nuns to do her dirty work?
"Wait."
Akira suddenly thought of something.
"Irina, answer me one question."
"Sure, what is it?" Irina replied obediently.
"Did Griselda tell you to complete the nun retrieval mission before the Holy Sword retrieval mission?"
"Yeah, that's right. How did you know, Akira?" Irina's eyes widened in surprise.
"I see..."
"That explains it."
Akira's expression turned微妙 as he looked at the two well-endowed girls in front of him.
"Alright, let me tell you something. Don't panic."
"Okay, we're listening."
"If I told you... you've been sold to me, would you believe me?"
"WHAT?!!"
