"Is my fate truly so pitiful?"

Matou Kariya gritted his teeth, his anger boiling over. Akira's words had struck a deep, painful chord within him. He couldn't help but think of Aoi, his childhood friend, who had been taken away by that man—Tokiomi Tohsaka.

As the situation unfolded, Kariya chose the path that aligned with his emotions, even if it was the most foolish one.

"Berserker! Go! Save Sakura from that demon's hands!"

With a deafening roar, Berserker lunged forward, his feet slamming into the ground as he charged toward Akira.

"Idiot," Akira muttered under his breath. He had no patience to reason with a fanatic like Kariya. If Kariya wouldn't listen, then force would have to do.

"[Dragon's Wrath!]"

A colossal, dragon-like Digimon descended from the sky, its white and gold armor gleaming with a terrifying beauty. Its massive, alloy-covered foot slammed down with earth-shaking force.

"Go!"

A talisman shot from Akira's hand, striking Kariya's wrist with pinpoint accuracy. Akira had already assessed Berserker's strength—it was nothing more than that of a high-tier demon, not even reaching the level of a supreme demon.

The talisman's effect activated instantly.

"[Berserker!]"

"[Berserker!]"

Feeling the pain, Kariya instinctively tried to use his Command Seals to summon Berserker to his side. However...

"No effect? What's going on?!"

"Nothing much. I just severed the contract between you and Berserker," Akira said calmly.

"What?!"

Realizing that his connection to his Servant had been cut, Kariya felt a wave of panic for the first time.

"Akira... could you please not hurt Uncle Kariya?"

A soft, pleading voice came from behind. Akira turned to see Sakura, her small hand tugging gently at his sleeve. Her eyes were filled with a desperate plea.

"Sakura, you saw it yourself. He was the one who attacked me first," Akira explained. "Besides, he has no talent for magic. The only reason he can supply Berserker with mana is because of the worms inside his body. Those worms are consuming his life force. He's literally burning his life to participate in this Holy Grail War."

"Worms..."

Akira's words brought back dark memories for Sakura. She shuddered as she recalled the horrors of the Matou family's basement.

Akira stepped closer to Kariya, his foot pressing down on the man's chest.

"Matou Kariya, you've seen Sakura's situation for yourself. You're nothing but a failure. Without me, you can only watch as Sakura is thrown into that pit of worms. But, considering you joined this war for her sake, I'll give you a chance."

"What kind of chance?" Kariya asked, his voice trembling.

"Fight alongside Sakura in the Holy Grail War. Take down Tokiomi Tohsaka."

Akira's smile was deceptively kind as he spoke.

"If you agree, I'll not only return Berserker to you, but I'll also remove the worms from your body and restore your health."

"What's the catch?" Kariya asked, unable to believe that such a deal could exist.

"My goal?" Akira chuckled softly. "My goal is simple—I seek amusement."

With that, Akira extended his hand, and a small, sacred flame entered Kariya's body.

"Ahhh!"

The holy flame burned through Kariya's body, destroying the worms that had infested him. The remaining worms fled in terror as the sacred fire purged them.

As Akira controlled the flame, he used his other hand to create green orbs of healing energy.

"[Mother's Smile]" activated, and within seconds, Kariya's body was fully restored.

"Is... is it really over?" Kariya asked, flexing his hands in disbelief.

"Not entirely. I've healed your body, but your magical circuits are still damaged," Akira reminded him.

"Even so, this is more than enough. Thank you..." Kariya muttered, his gratitude mixed with awkwardness.

"Don't thank me yet. Remember, there are conditions to this," Akira said with a smile.

"Alright, what do you want me to do? Kill Servants? Or Masters?" Kariya knew his value lay in his ability to fight.

"There's only one Holy Grail, and only one winner. As for the order in which we eliminate the Servants, that's up to me."

"So, I just follow your lead?"

"Exactly."

Akira knew exactly who Kariya wanted to target—the man who had caused all this suffering: Tokiomi Tohsaka.

Soon, with Akira's help, Kariya reestablished his contract with Berserker.

"Thank you, Akira. I'll give my life to help Sakura win this Holy Grail War!" Kariya declared, his loyalty unwavering.

But Akira shook his head.

"No need to go that far. I'll even provide you with a potion to restore your life force, allowing you to use it as mana."

Akira explained that while such potions were rare in the world of Fate, they were abundant in the DxD universe. For someone like Kariya, who had no natural magical ability, a single potion designed for low-tier demons would suffice.

"Alright! If that's the case, then I'm ready!" Kariya's spirits were lifted.

With their plans set, Kariya prepared to leave.

"Akira, I'll take my leave now. Sakura is in your hands."

"Of course. Even if you die, Sakura will be safe with me."

Sakura was the foundation of Akira's existence in this world, and he would protect her at all costs.

"Good. That's all I need to hear."

Kariya took one last look at Sakura before turning to leave. He had a score to settle with the man who had caused all this tragedy—Tokiomi Tohsaka.

As Kariya left, Akira watched him go. He knew exactly what Kariya was planning.

"Akira... thank you for saving Uncle Kariya," Sakura said softly, hugging Akira.

"Sakura, I'm a demon. Protecting my contractor is the same as protecting my own interests. Having a contractor as adorable as you is a blessing."

Akira gently patted Sakura's black hair. In his memories, Sakura had purple hair, but her current black hair symbolized that she hadn't yet suffered the horrors of the Matou family.

As Akira pondered his next move, a system notification chimed in his mind.

"Find new contractors, huh?" Akira mused.

"Sakura, how about I find you a new friend?" Akira asked with a smile.

"Eh? Really?" Sakura's eyes widened in surprise.

"Of course. But you'll have to get along with her, okay?"

Akira gently patted Sakura's head. A soft, innocent loli like her was a treasure.

The next day, at the airport, Irisviel von Einzbern and Saber stepped off the plane.

Irisviel, with her striking white hat and boots, exuded an air of elegance. Her black leggings accentuated her legs, and even her casual sweater couldn't hide her alluring figure.

Beside her, Saber, in her formal black suit, remained ever vigilant, her golden hair catching the light.

The two women attracted many glances as they walked through the airport.

But suddenly, Irisviel collapsed to her knees, clutching her chest.

"Irisviel! What's wrong? Is it an enemy attack?" Saber immediately summoned her armor and sword, scanning the area.

"No... it's not that..." Irisviel gasped, sweat pouring down her face.

"Saber, could you hand me my phone?"

"Of course."

Saber quickly retrieved the phone and handed it to Irisviel.

"Kiritsugu... have you heard anything from the Einzbern family recently?"

"Irisviel... why do you ask?"

"Just answer me! Have you heard anything or not?!"
