Chapter 35
Chapter 35
Using [Appraisal], I identified them as Wolves. Pack hunters that surrounded their prey. Individually, they were among the weaker monsters in the Demon Forest. But the problem was their numbers. At a glance, there were about fifteen. In the center of their formation was a trembling, bluish object. Each time the Wolves’ claws struck, it closed its large eyes and endured. Occasionally, it tried to hop away, but the Wolves’ coordination was too much.
“That thing…”
[Appraisal]—Miracle Slime. Even without checking its stats, it was clearly a fragile monster. The Miracle Slime was being toyed with, completely outmatched. From my hiding spot, my eyes met the Slime’s. It didn’t speak, of course, but the plea in its large eyes was painfully clear.
(Help me.)
The Wolves’ claws continued to strike. Its gel-like body was being torn apart.
“I can’t just watch…!”
Against my better judgment, I felt pity for the monster. Drawing my mithril sword, I kicked off a tree trunk and leaped forward, slicing through the Wolf about to sink its fangs into the Slime.
—Growl!
The Wolves immediately shifted their focus from the Slime to me. I smashed the skull of one charging head-on with my sword.
“I’ve got your back!!”
