I, the Villain, Stopped Simping, and Now All the Female Leads Are Panicking

Chapter 7:

Chapter 7: A Man Who Sacrifices Himself for Others

Xiao Fan leapt out from behind the boulder he had been hiding behind, so excited that he nearly soared through the air.

He waved his fists left and right, forcing a bloody path through the beasts.

Charging all the way to Liu Yanran’s side, he crushed a beast that had tried to ambush her with a single punch.

With what he thought was a bright and handsome smile, Xiao Fan looked at Liu Yanran and said,

“Miss, are you alright?”

“I’m fine,” Liu Yanran replied coldly, her gaze sharp as ice.

“I’m Xiao Fan. May I ask your name, Miss?”

Xiao Fan introduced himself while continuing to fight the beasts, a confident expression plastered across his face.

Now that the Golden Wheel Lion Ape was dead, the remaining beasts were no stronger than the Liquid Condensation Realm—and not many of them remained.

Xiao Fan himself hadn’t even reached the Liquid Condensation Realm; he was still only in the Foundation Establishment Realm. But as the child of fate favored by the Heavenly Dao, fighting across realms was second nature to him.

Though he couldn’t eliminate the whole horde, surviving for a while wasn’t a problem.

“She actually bought it?”

Inside the ring, Ye Shuang’er couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

It was unbelievable.

How could such a crude plan actually work?

Was Liu Yanran, this so-called genius of the Holy Sect, a fake?

Otherwise, this shouldn’t be possible.

Or maybe the Heavenly Dao Holy Sect had truly fallen, and its ‘geniuses’ were just at this level now?

The beasts looked endless, pouring in without end.

Even with Xiao Fan’s strength, he was still just a Foundation Establishment Realm cultivator. Surrounded from all sides, the pressure soon overwhelmed him. His movements began to slow.

Despite this, Xiao Fan kept part of his attention on Liu Yanran.

“Watch out, Miss!”

He deliberately let a few beasts slip past him toward Liu Yanran, then immediately threw himself in front of her with a self-sacrificing posture, shielding her from harm.

With the look of a man fighting for his life, he began brawling with the beasts, doing everything he could to protect her.

Even though his injuries grew worse and worse, the excitement in his eyes only intensified.

He was giving everything to protect her!

Surely Liu Yanran must be deeply moved by now!

But unfortunately, he was wrong.

Not only was Liu Yanran completely unmoved, she was actually wondering whether or not she should kill him.

She hesitated for just a moment before dismissing the idea.

This dog of a man named Xiao Fan was clearly one of Yan She’s people.

Though his strength was weak, if Yan She had sent him to do this job, he must hold some value in Yan She’s eyes.

Killing him would make things complicated on that end.

Liu Yanran gave Xiao Fan a long look before coldly shouting, “Fall back!”

“No! I can’t let these beasts hurt you! Even if I have to give my life!”

Xiao Fan thought Liu Yanran was finally concerned for him and that she was starting to soften.

His heart burned hotter with joy.

Clearly, his strategy was working! The more injured he got, the more moved she would be!

Eventually, she would open her heart to him!

Watching Xiao Fan dance around like a clown in front of her, Liu Yanran snorted.

“Suit yourself.”

With that, she found a clean rock and sat down in silence.

She simply watched Xiao Fan perform.

Liu Yanran knew exactly what she was doing.

She couldn’t kill this dog named Xiao Fan herself, but if he insisted on throwing his life away, that had nothing to do with her.

She couldn’t afford to offend Yan She… but you?

You’re just an errand boy.

I’ll settle the score with you first.

At most, when he was on the verge of death, she’d toss him a lifeline. Nothing more.

Still fighting desperately, Xiao Fan suddenly noticed Liu Yanran sitting down.

He froze in confusion.

In that moment of distraction, a beast swiped its claws across his chest, leaving a long, deep gash.

Blood soaked through his clothes in an instant, and Xiao Fan grimaced in pain.

Then he remembered—

Liu Yanran must be too exhausted and needed time to recover.

Alright! Then I’ll protect you while you rest!

Having made up his mind, Xiao Fan dove back into the beast horde, even more reckless than before, launching desperate attacks while trading injuries for damage.

Seeing how hard I’m fighting for her… she must be overwhelmed with gratitude by now!

Liu Yanran, you’re already within my grasp!

Xiao Fan laughed loudly, his attacks growing faster and more frenzied.

Liu Yanran simply glanced at him coldly.

“What a complete idiot.”

“Looks like even Yan She makes mistakes in judgment.”

After a while, Xiao Fan’s strength was nearly depleted. His movements slowed further, and his injuries began seriously affecting his ability to fight.

Still not done recovering?

Xiao Fan glanced over at Liu Yanran. She was still as calm and composed as before.

But he… he could barely hold on!

He was supposed to be a future peerless powerhouse. How could he die here to some low-level beasts?

“Miss, if you’ve recovered, please help me.”

Asking a woman for help stung his pride, but he couldn’t afford to die now.

Liu Yanran merely glanced at him, looked over his injuries, and replied flatly, “You won’t die just yet. Hang in there.”

With that, she closed her eyes and began meditating.

Her words left Xiao Fan dumbstruck.

This wasn’t what he expected at all.

Shouldn’t she rush to help right now?

Why did she seem completely unbothered?

“Miss, I really can’t hold on anymore! Please help me!”

This time, Liu Yanran didn’t even bother replying. She acted like she hadn’t heard a thing.

Xiao Fan’s face instantly turned ugly.

A trace of regret began to rise in his heart.

No! I can’t just sit here and die!

He glanced at Liu Yanran again, hesitated for a moment, then turned and ran toward her.

There are always more women in the world—but if I die here, it’s all over!

If Liu Yanran can help block a few attacks, I might just break through and escape!

Shame about such a beautiful woman, though…

The idea was sound. This “lure disaster away” tactic might’ve worked—if he hadn’t forgotten one thing.

Earlier, to win her sympathy, he had deliberately allowed himself to get hurt. By now, those wounds had accumulated to a dangerous extent.

Trying to run now was far too late.

He barely got a few steps before a beast tackled him to the ground.

Its sharp fangs sank into his back, tearing into his flesh.

“AHHHHH!!!”

Xiao Fan let out a scream of agony.

More beasts followed, swarming over him, biting and clawing.

In no time at all, his back was torn open—white bone glinting beneath shredded, bloody flesh.
