Chapter 3:
Chapter 3: Oh, So You’re Just a Simp
“Your dog?”
Yan She once again ignored the man and directed the question to Liu Yanran.
“Who are you calling a dog?!”
Before Liu Yanran could reply, the man exploded with rage, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
“A simp too?”
“No wonder. I was wondering why he attacked like a mad dog right away.”
“Next time, put a leash on him. Don’t bring him out to wander aimlessly—it just irritates people.”
“If you’ve got nothing else, get lost.”
Yan She waved his hand impatiently.
“Yan… Holy Son, this is Senior Brother Lin Tianhao, the chief disciple of the Zhengyang Sect.”
“He came along with the sect leader of Zhengyang Sect to discuss matters related to the Heavenly Palace Secret Realm, which will open in half a month.”
After some hesitation, Liu Yanran decided to introduce the man beside her.
The message between the lines was clear—she was hinting at Lin Tianhao’s identity so that Yan She wouldn’t start a conflict with him. That would only lead to trouble.
After all, her grudge with Yan She was personal. It didn’t need to involve outsiders. Once that happened, it would become something entirely different.
She had only run into Lin Tianhao on her way here. Out of courtesy, she greeted him—but he immediately latched onto her and wouldn’t leave.
She hadn’t expected him to confront Yan She so directly.
And since this conflict began because of her, if things got out of hand, she’d be the one punished in the end.
“Don’t know him. Don’t care.”
“I’ve got things to do today. I don’t have time to argue with him. Take him and get out of my sight.”
After saying that, Yan She turned and walked away, never once acknowledging Lin Tianhao.
Yan She’s blatant disregard ignited Lin Tianhao’s fury. His face turned dark like liver.
With a flick of his hand, several silver needles appeared in his palm. Staring at Yan She’s back, Lin Tianhao’s eyes gleamed with a poisonous hatred.
Just as he raised his hand—
“If you want to die, go ahead and try.”
Yan She’s voice suddenly echoed beside Lin Tianhao’s ear, making his entire body tremble.
“You…”
A terrifying aura suddenly descended from the sky, enveloping Lin Tianhao completely.
The pressure felt almost tangible. His bones creaked and groaned under the weight.
He felt that if he dared to move even slightly, something terrifying would happen.
He’d die—without a doubt, he would die!
Cold sweat instantly soaked his back as a desperate sense of self-preservation screamed in his mind.
Faced with the shadow of death looming so close, Lin Tianhao didn’t dare to move a muscle. He stayed frozen in that strange, awkward pose—hand outstretched, mid-attack—looking both ridiculous and pitiful.
It wasn’t until Yan She walked far away, his figure gradually disappearing from view, that the crushing aura began to fade.
Lin Tianhao immediately collapsed to his knees, gasping for air as he clutched his chest, his image completely ruined.
“Senior Brother Lin, just now you…”
Liu Yanran began to speak, but her face turned red, and she quickly looked away.
“Senior Brother Lin, you might want to change your pants first. I’ll be going now.”
With that, she turned and flew off.
Only then did Lin Tianhao realize that the front of his pants was soaked and sticky…
“Scram.”
Yan She’s voice rang out again.
Hearing it, Lin Tianhao scrambled up from the ground and fled from Nine Immortal Peak in a panic, hands and feet flailing.
Yan She wasn’t someone who acted without restraint. In the original novel, this Lin Tianhao didn’t even have a name, so he was probably just a background character with no real significance.
Dealing with someone like that wasn’t worth his time. Killing him might feel satisfying in the moment, but it would cause all sorts of unnecessary trouble.
After all, this was a real world now—not the illogical novel it used to be.
Killing someone, especially a top disciple from another sect, would bring endless problems.
And besides, the system had already told him to live like a salted fish—low-profile and lazy.
If he could slack off, he would. Trouble? No thanks.
Only after Liu Yanran’s presence had completely left Nine Immortal Peak did Yan She finally let out a breath of relief.
To Yan She, Liu Yanran was nothing but bad luck.
She was the female lead in the original book. Getting involved with her meant endless trouble—possibly even more than killing Lin Tianhao.
That would seriously get in the way of his salted fish lifestyle.
Try to interrupt my laid-back days?
I don’t care who you are—get lost!
“…But still…”
Staring in the direction Liu Yanran had gone, Yan She began to think.
Her visit today served as a reminder.
It brought back to him the fact that he was currently living in a novel world.
The entire plot of this world revolved around the main character, Xiao Fan.
And he, Yan She, was the first major villain—his role in the novel was equally important.
Eventually, the plot would require him to appear again.
In other words, no matter what he did, he would inevitably cross paths with the protagonist.
This was the will of the world itself—avoiding it was meaningless.
Yan She rubbed his chin, deep in thought as he walked toward his cave residence.
Based on how the plot was unfolding, they were now in the early stages of the first major novel arc.
Xiao Fan had just awakened the power sealed within his ring and was about to rise meteorically—slaughtering his way from a remote small town all the way into the Central Region.
His next goal? Joining the Heavenly Dao Holy Sect.
Then came the usual over-the-top displays, slapping faces all over the sect, and finally, a dramatic showdown with Yan She.
Normally, with Xiao Fan coming from such a remote backwater, even with outstanding talent, joining the Heavenly Dao Holy Sect should have been nearly impossible without someone to recommend him.
The only reason he managed to enter the sect was because of Liu Yanran.
And of course, it was a classic cliché.
During his adventures in the Central Region, Xiao Fan had happened to catch a glimpse of Liu Yanran from afar. Her beauty stunned him beyond belief.
From that moment on, he made up his mind—he had to make her his Dao partner.
After investigating her identity, he crafted a ridiculously flawed “hero saves beauty” plan.
One that would earn her gratitude and give him a chance to enter the Heavenly Dao Holy Sect—a two-birds-one-stone move.
And of course, things unfolded exactly as he predicted.
With the credit of saving her life, Xiao Fan smoothly got into the sect.
But winning Liu Yanran’s heart took more than just a good impression. He needed strength too.
And as luck would have it, Xiao Fan was the chosen one—blessed by fate itself.
Ever since he joined the sect, his cultivation skyrocketed like he was riding a rocket.
Seeing Xiao Fan’s terrifying talent, Liu Yanran finally opened her heart to him completely.
Such a shameless and over-the-top plot.
Yan She couldn’t help but spit in his heart before calling out to the system.
“System, Xiao Fan should still be in the Central Region, right? What if I just go and kill him now—think that could work?”
