I Received System to Become Dragonborn

Chapter 707: Keep Attacking

Aerchon's face hardened as he took in the sight before him. Eryndor now have become a monstrous fusion of metal and Magic. He stood tall, his new form radiating an overwhelming presence of strangeness.

Even after suffering such devastating damage he had not only risen again but had evolved into something even more dangerous.

Aerchon gritted his teeth, his grip tightening around his sword. He turned his gaze toward Saeldir. Their eyes met, and a silent understanding passed between them. There was no need for words. They both knew what had to be done.

Without hesitation, Aerchon launched himself forward, his body moving in a blur. His reforged sword gleamed with Magic and cutting through the air as he closed the distance between himself and Laston. He wasn't going to give the traitor any more time to gloat.

But the moment he moved, Eryndor reacted.

The armored giant's massive form surged forward, his reinforced limbs thundering against the ground as he moved to intercept Aerchon.

The air vibrated with energy as Eryndor's glowing runes pulsed brighter, his mechanical frame humming with power. His massive hand swung out in an attempt to crush Aerchon mid dash.

Before the attack could land, Saeldir raised his hands.

Blinding tendrils of Magic light erupted from the air, wrapping around Eryndor's limbs like chains. The construct froze mid-motion, the glowing bindings tightening around his armored body.

Eryndor struggled against them, his mechanical frame whirring and convulsing as he attempted to break free.

"Now! Attack the creature!" Saeldir commanded.

Vael wasted no time. He loosed an arrow, its shaft glowing with enchanted energy as it shot toward Eryndor's exposed joints. The projectile struck at its target and exploding on impact. Sparks and shards of metal scattered from the force, but Eryndor barely flinched.

Arlyn rushed in next, his dual swords flashing as he delivered a rapid series of strikes along Eryndor's reinforced plating. His blades scraped against the construct's armor, leaving deep scratches but failing to penetrate the thick plating.

Arlyn cursed under his when he realized his attack were too shallow.

Sylra moved like a shadow, weaving through the chaos with her daggers drawn. She ducked low and slashed at Eryndor's legs, aiming for weak points in the armor.

Her attack were quick and precise but even then, the reinforced plating proved a formidable barrier.

Eryndor's eyes flared.

A surge of energy pulsed through his body. The Magical chains that held him cracked, then shattered in an instant.

Saeldir's eyes widened a little bit in shock as the binding spell collapsed under sheer force of whatever Magic the runes on that armor have.

The moment he was free, Eryndor moved. And he was faster than before.

With a single earth-shaking step, he swung his massive fist toward Arlyn who were closer to him, aiming to crush him where he stood.

Arlyn crossed his swords in front of him. The force of the blow sent him flying backward.

He crashed into the far wall, the impact leaving a deep crater in the metal surface. A sharp gasp escaped him as pain flared through his body.

Vael fired again, aiming for Eryndor's head. This time, the construct reacted.

His left arm shifted and transforming. The plating rearranged itself in a split second then forming a mechanical shield that intercepted the arrow before it could hit its target.

Sylra vanished from sight in instant, using her speed to reposition.

She then reappeared behind Eryndor, aiming for the exposed area between his armor plates. But the moment she struck, a sudden shockwave blasted outward from Eryndor's frame.

The invisible force sent Sylra flying back, her body rolling across the floor before she came to a stop, coughing as she forced herself up again.

Eryndor's new form wasn't just stronger. It was learning and seemingly have vision all around his body. This is going to be hard.

Saeldir clenched his fists, frustration flashing across his face. "Damn it… it's not just reinforced. It's evolving as we fight."

Eryndor's glowing eyes locked onto them.

"Threat Analysis: Updated. Adjusting combat strategy."

His entire form shifted again. Plates expanded, limbs adjusted, and his glowing runes realigned. The air around him crackled with more energy.

Aerchon who had reached Laston finally swung his blade. His attack came in a blur then he give him a strike meant to cut through the traitor's smug expression once and for all.

Laston grinned and then he vanished.

Aerchon's sword carved through empty air.

Before he could react, a sharp force struck him from the side.

Laston reappeared at an unnatural speed, his palm pressing against Aerchon's ribs.

A shockwave of dark energy erupted, sending Aerchon hurtling to the other side of the room. He crashed into the ground and rolling before coming to a stop.

He gritted his teeth, feeling his body aching from the attack.

Laston straightened, brushing off his sleeve with a chuckle.

"Oh, Aerchon… you thought I wouldn't improve myself, too?" His eyes gleamed with dangerous intent. "You're not the only one who's getting stronger. I'm also changed."

Aerchon pushed himself up, his sword trembling slightly in his grip.

"You've altered yourself with this metalwork," Aerchon said, his voice sharp with disgust. "You think that's a good change?"

Laston smirked, flexing his mechanical fingers, the gleam of his cybernetic enhancements reflecting the chaotic light of the battlefield.

"Of course," he said, his voice carrying an eerie confidence. "With this, I will crush you and your pathetic father. The Elf Palace has stagnated for too long, clinging to its outdated traditions. I will make it stronger. My kingdom will be the most powerful in all the worlds."

Hearing Laston's words only stoked the fire of Aerchon's rage. His grip on his sword tightened, his knuckles whitening.

He could not let this traitor have his way. With a furious burst of speed, he lunged forward, his blade arcing in a deadly strike.

Laston's eyes narrowed for a fraction of a second before he brought up his arm, metal plating shifting to deflect the incoming attack. But Aerchon wasn't aiming to simply strike him, he pushed.

A thunderous impact shook the chamber as Aerchon drove Laston backward with sheer force, their clash of power sending a shockwave through the air.

Sparks erupted where steel met Magic blade, and Aerchon' s attack push Laston through the reinforced wall behind him.
