I chose Luck and was given Infinite Luck

Chapter 36: A World That Listens

A World That Listens

1. The Wheel Always Lands in His Favor (Tom's POV)

Tom sat at the edge of the Hunter's Guild rooftop, flipping a coin between his fingers.

Something had been on his mind lately—an itch he couldn't quite scratch.

He hadn't lost a single gamble in two weeks.

Not once.

That wasn't normal.

Even with his ability, even with Cosmic Fortune, he should have seen at least one unexpected outcome.

His fingers tightened around the coin.

Heads.

He flicked it.

It spun—slower than usual, as if the very air conspired to let him watch.

Heads.

Tom frowned.

He flicked it again.

Heads.

Again.

Heads.

A slow smirk curled his lips.

"Well, at least the universe is consistent," he muttered.

His mind tried to push further, to think of why the world never resisted him anymore.

But then—

"Tom! You coming?"

Stacy's voice called from below.

Tom exhaled.

The thought slipped away.

The illusion had heard his doubt.

And it had smothered it in certainty.

2. The Path of the Void Expands (Stacy's POV)

Stacy stood before the Void Training Chamber, a newly constructed facility in the Academy.

Built just for her.

She hadn't asked for it.

But apparently, the Academy's headmasters had seen her potential and decided she needed a place to push her ability further.

A custom-built training ground.

Designed perfectly for her power.

As she stepped inside, the walls pulsed with an understanding energy, as if the chamber itself knew how to respond to her Void.

It bent to her will, expanding the moment she thought it should be bigger.

It adjusted its resistance, countering her in just the right way to make her feel challenged, but not frustrated.

It was perfect.

Maybe… a little too perfect.

For a brief moment, she wondered how the Academy had anticipated exactly what she needed.

But the thought vanished just as quickly.

Because why question a gift that made her stronger?

The illusion had adapted.

And Stacy never noticed.

3. The World Answers Her Wishes (Diane's POV)

Diane had always worried about losing control.

She had spent lifetimes fighting fate, trying to keep hold of the threads of reality.

But here?

Here, there was no need.

Because every time she thought about something—

It simply happened.

She thought about how the family should spend more time together—and suddenly, Tom's next mission was delayed by Guild orders, giving them an extra day at home.

She thought about a beautiful garden behind their house—only to discover that one had been planted overnight by thoughtful neighbors.

She wondered if she should cook Mike's favorite dish—and found that she already had all the ingredients, without remembering when she had bought them.

It was as if the world had become seamless, anticipating her needs before she even voiced them.

She paused in the middle of setting the table, feeling an odd shiver crawl up her spine.

A flicker of something she couldn't name.

She looked toward the doorway.

Mike stood there, watching her.

For just a second, she thought she saw the same hesitation in his eyes.

Then—

"Dinner smells amazing," he said, smiling.

The moment passed.

The illusion had heard her uncertainty.

And it had drowned it in comfort.

4. A Father's World Falls into Place (Mike's POV)

Mike sat on the couch, watching old home videos.

Except—

He didn't remember ever recording them.

There was footage of Tom as a child, running through the backyard, his laughter filling the screen.

A young Stacy chasing after him, demanding that he slow down.

Diane, younger, happier, smiling at them both.

And Mike himself—

Standing in the background, exactly where he should be.

A part of their lives, in a way he hadn't been before.

He swallowed hard.

This isn't real.

The thought drifted to the surface.

But then, another thought pushed it down.

So what if it isn't?

If he had missed out on the past before—

Did it matter if this was how he got it back?

The illusion had adapted.

And Mike chose to believe.

---

5. The Perfect Life, Seamlessly Built (Final Scene – Group POV)

The house felt warmer than usual that night.

The scent of Diane's cooking filled the air. Tom and Stacy laughed at the dinner table, teasing each other over their latest accomplishments.

Mike watched them all, a quiet warmth settling in his chest.

This was real enough.

Real enough to keep.

Real enough to live.

And whatever doubts had lingered vanished into the background.

Because the world had adjusted itself perfectly.

And none of them had any reason to question it.

Not yet.

Not when it was finally everything they had ever wanted.
