In other words, there was not enough time for any in-depth academic exchanges.
Therefore, the discussions between Jaxon and Jane could only remain at the level of verbal sparring.
Of course, Jaxon was a bit unsportsmanlike and launched a sneak attack.
Fortunately, Jane was generous and didn't take it personally.
Jaxon felt quite satisfied with his progress.
'Before Thor arrives, I'll definitely be able to intercept Jane Foster, calculate the fate points, and then give Thor a beating.' He thought.
The two were in no hurry to leave the tent, choosing instead to chat and exchange sweet words.
It wasn't until Dr. Shavig noticed everyone was up later than usual that he couldn't help but call for Jaxon to get up.
When he saw Jaxon and Jane emerging from the tent together, Dr. Shavig realized he probably should have allowed them a bit more privacy.
"Dr. Shavig, I was just discussing academic matters with Jaxon last night and got so sleepy that I fell asleep." Jane explained.
Shavig just nodded, "Let's grab something to eat and get going."
"Darcy's been getting lazier since Jaxon joined the team. She hasn't even left her bed yet."
Feigning innocence, Jaxon just held Jane's hand as they went for breakfast together.
"I think we could leave some food for Darcy. Anyway, I'll be driving for a while, so let her rest." Jaxon suggested.
Jane smiled, feeling Jaxon's thoughtfulness, "Good idea."
This small detail didn't delay their trip.
After a long day's journey, night eventually fell.
They passed through a small town and, under Dr. Shavig's suggestion, everyone decided to stay for the night to rest and resupply.
Dr. Shavig even took Jaxon and the others to a bar for a drink. Fortunately, with Jaxon around, the night went smoothly.
Back at the hotel, Jaxon invited Jane to "discuss academics" again, and she naturally didn't refuse.
___
"System, I need to settle the rewards." Jaxon thought.
[Ding, the host successfully intercepted Jane Foster!]
[Ding, Jane Foster's fate has been altered. 500,000 fate points acquired!]
[Ding, Thor's fate has been changed. 200,000 fate points acquired!]
[Special prize draw awarded!]
Jaxon was completely stunned. Jane alone provided 500,000 points.
This number was extremely impressive.
Jaxon considered Jane's arc in the Marvel Universe.
First, she becomes Thor's girlfriend.
Then, she gets the Aether.
Next, she gains the ability to wield Mjolnir, transforming into the Mighty Thor and taking on a semi-divine life.
By these standards, Jane could be considered a superhero in her own right.
Changing her fate and earning 500,000 points seemed reasonable.
"System, let's do the prize draw!"
[Ding, congratulations to the host for obtaining the special ability: Clone Technique!]
"Clone technique?"
Jaxon checked its details and found that it was quite useful.
The ability allowed him to create an energy clone that could exist for a long duration until its energy was depleted.
It even possessed independent consciousness.
Although he couldn't split himself in two to flirt or learn simultaneously, he could still accomplish many tasks.
'This skill is actually quite powerful.' He thought.
As a functional skill, it held great potential, and that was good enough for him.
"I've successfully intercepted Jane, and with all the recent academic debates, my intelligence has also reached Level 7."
"Now, my stats have improved significantly once again."
[All-around Evolution System]
[Host: Jaxon]
Age: 19
[Destiny Points: 2.34 Million]
[Intelligence: lv7]
[Strength: lv7 (100,000 tons)]
[Speed: lv7 (Mach 30)]
[Endurance: lv7]
[Spirit: lv7]
[Energy: lv7]
[Battle Skills: lv5]
[Special Abilities: teleportation, flight, wind blade, danger warning, enhanced hearing, energy absorption, clone technique.]
[Special Items: Kryptonite*1, Water of Life*1 drop]
[Special Props: None]
Looking at his stats, Jaxon felt satisfied.
But improving further would be quite a challenge.
"To reach Level 8 will be tricky."
"10 million fate points." He sighed. How long would it take to accumulate that much?
One Jane Foster only gave 500,000 points. How many more would he need?
Even if he took over an entire S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft carrier, it wouldn't be enough.
After all, minor characters didn't contribute much to the fate point tally.
Just as he was brooding over this, an idea struck him.
Perhaps he'd been overlooking something important.
Quantity was one approach, but quality mattered too.
He had helped Gwen gain superpowers, which had yielded fate points.
Giving Natasha the Horse Talisman had also earned points.
Helping Tony regain his youth? Points again.
These examples had slipped by unnoticed.
If Jane eventually became the Mighty Thor, she would generate more points.
However, Jane's goal wasn't to become a superhero.
"Then I should help Gwen, Natasha, and the others get stronger."
"With over 2 million points, I could do more than 200 draws if each costs 10,000 points." He calculated using his Level 7 intelligence.
Based on the current situation, simply accumulating points would be too slow.
The best way forward was to win special items through the lottery, which would empower those around him.
This, in turn, could lead to fate points through feedback.
Jaxon didn't hesitate.
"Let's do a big draw!"
Jaxon glanced at Jane beside him. The night was still young.
With that thought, Jaxon decided to go straight for a massive draw!
A mere ten-draw wasn't exciting enough—he would do a full one hundred.
"System, draw one hundred times!"
"System, mute the notifications. I'll check the results later."
He wanted to avoid constant notification chimes and instead enjoy a moment of anticipation.
This one hundred-draw pull would cost 1 million destiny points.
Jaxon's hopes weren't too high; he just wanted three useful items.
Ideally, he'd get some special items that could empower others around him.
Only then could Jaxon see a return in fate points and finally hit the jackpot.
"Let's see the special items first."
Special items were the most commonly drawn and an important way to boost Jaxon's growth.
He examined them one by one, finding that most were junk.
"A dark matter detector? Useless. The Marvel Universe doesn't deal with that kind of tech."
"Trash."
"More trash."
"Completely useless!"
"A manuscript on cyclotron research, useful for intelligence enhancement…"
After a while, two valuable items caught Jaxon's eye.
The first was a Talisman.
This time, he'd drawn the Snake Talisman, which granted invisibility.
This would be a very practical gift for Natasha.
"Perfect. I'll help Natasha collect all twelve talismans."
When she finally had them all, her powers would be formidable.
The second valuable item was called the Fire Spirit Pearl.
The Fire Spirit Pearl granted its user control over fire and immunity to burns.
Jaxon hadn't tested its limits yet, but he could tell it would be powerful.
