At the edge of the horizon a large fire was visible.

Kagoshima was on fire.

In the helicopter, Akito reaches to the pilot's communication for a little chat.

"Try to avoid the heat, take the long route. We should have enough fuel."

"Copy that.", replied the pilot.

"I missed you.", says Alice.

Ninomiya with a scared expression tells, "Who are you? What happened to Hiori? Where are we?"

Alice crosses her legs, with a smile says "Beats me, I know a little about myself as well. The one thing I know is we made a vow in a cave."

Ninomiya's lips talk themselves following her sentence, "That we should not use it for personal gain."

He tries to stop his lips,

"Why did I speak without thinking?"

Alice puts her hands to the side, "I don't know, muscle memory maybe?"

Alice thinks, "If I can't say much to him, I'll try to make him understand with body language."

She opens her mouth, "Hiori is fine, because we made a deal together. I left the army of Akari to join your fighting force. However there is a catch, what I want in return is you, Ninomiya."

Ninomiya is frightened, as Alice advances on him. He has no choice but to give in.

Alice throws a pen from the desk at the side of the bed towards the camera. Breaking the camera, the feed goes away.

At the other side was Hiori watching, Akise was also with her.

"So what now? We let her fuck him?", asked Akise with anger.

"I nearly lost my life there, what are you even angry about?" Replied Hiori with anger.

Akise gives a sigh, "The act is over, his life is his. Let him make the decision. Also how is this new girl doing? You said you had vague memories of her."

Hiori looks at the screen, "I don't know either, It seems natural to me. I had met her before, somewhere, I had saved her somewhere. The fact that she has my research is ridiculous."

Akise puts his hand on the table, "So an outcast from another timeline, she broke the laws of time travel and infiltrated into ours creating a 3rd timeline. What was her name again? Akame Hoshino?"

Akise is in deep thinking,

"Pull the records from 2190. I read an article about a Hoshino who was executed."

Hiori is astonished by his intellect.

"You're actually smarter than me huh?" Says Hiori with a weirded out face.

"Stop that and open the records." Akise is dead serious.

"Classified?" Hiori is shocked, as more information is not accessible with her 4 star access card.

"So she is dead in our timeline." Points Akise.

He looks at the clock above him, "So which alternative timeline did she come from?"

Hiori looks at Akise, "I have a task for you. It might give us some information about Akari or some leads."

"I'm in." Akise looks directly at Hiori's dead eyes.

Hiori brings up a map on the screen,

"There is an abandoned building about 20 miles off from the alps. Suspicious activity has been detected there, like a woman with blonde hair entering and exiting. I'll give you some protective armor we reverse engineered from Akari's soldiers.

Also this blond woman might be Akari, you know she is blond. Just make sure you stay alive."

Akise gulps, "Fine, take me to the room where this armor is later on."

Hiori yawns.

"Keep this between us, father shouldn't know of it. He can access all the information, having a higher access card than me is such a cheat."

Akise questions, "Why shouldn't uncle know about this?"

Hiori rubs her eye, "He is worried about you more than me, you're his successor. He shouldn't have his candidate run off collecting information, risking himself."

Akise always wondered why Hiori wasn't chosen to be his successor.

He thought of a moment in his childhood where Hiori lost all her emotions after they escaped to 2005 Earth via the time machine.

He noticed Hiori wasn't very playful from an early age. She would rather spend her life in a lab studying how to make weapons. Uncle Akito tried to make her stay out of it. But her sheer determination kept her going. She was blessed with intellect, with an IQ of 190.

Now looking at the Hiori in the present day, her humanity had vanished away. A hollow husk filled with knowledge is what she was now.

Akise felt something bad would happen to her if she kept going at this rate.

"What's gonna happen to Ninomiya then? He was frankly 'dragged' into our scheme of taking back the world." Akise is concerned.

Hiori walks towards the door, "I don't know, he is our only hope against her. I'll respect his decision at the end after he gets rid of her."

"I have liked him as a real human being, my friendship was genuine. I would like to do something good towards his trust in me so I wouldn't have to lie to him a second time." states Akise.
