Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Ticonderoga
[Year-2187] (Some Different Timeline)
[Hoshino Residence, Ticonderoga Megastructure]
"I'm off to work Akame! Food is on the table."
A woman kisses her daughter on her head in bed as she heads out.
A little while later,
A young Akame runs towards the table and grabs the food, turns on the computer and starts playing games.
A while later, she goes over to the pressurization chamber and dresses up in a hazmat suit.
Putting on the ID she heads out.
A list of things pop up in a hollowgram.
[Grocery List]
[Sealed MRE × 60]
She walks down the streets of Ticonderoga.
A large megastructure in the future holding the last remaining humans on the planet.
[Narrator]
A large scale war occured 81 years ago that destroyed most of the life on the planet. Half the world went divided using nuclear weapons to end the other half. After the dust settled as few as a hundred thousand humans remained.
After decades passed, they built the Megastructure as their last line, a bastion built in the alps.
To ensure another war would never happen, they devised the codex of the human federation.
The codex had rules in check. A fair judicial system, and equality based living quarters, food and comfort. No matter how rich you are, you will still live like the poor.
Ticonderoga has 6 main entrances, along those entrances runs streets and mini residential areas. The main building towers over 120 meters in length. Followed by 4 support towers and an interlocking bridge system that connects it all.
The walls have sentry cannons as huge as a normal house, preventing hostile enemies from entering Ticonderoga.
But the enemy was already inside.]
A banner lit, advocating for military service in the army of the Human Federation.
As Akari watches the ants(humans)below from the top of Ticonderoga.
"Wish they had just joined my army they would be free after 10 years of service and lifetime of facilities."
An errand runner comes decked in armor,
"Godmother, the research team is here. Their reports over the efficiency project are kind of here and there."
Akari smirks, "Good, bring them here."
[Back at the streets]
A young Akame shops for groceries, she places the order for 60 MRE's and heads to home.
"Hey look at that, somebody is getting executed."
As the crowd panicked,
Akame looks at the top of a public broadcast television.
Someone had started to live telecast a zoomed footage of the top of the tower.
As a young Akame watches it, the hazmat helmet falls off the victim.
It being her mother, she gets down on her knees.
The body catches on fire as Akari burns her alive.
The young Akame runs off, unable to handle the mental pressure.
She crashes into the rocks outside of Ticonderoga.
Small cuts have formed in the suit.
"Why?"
"Why?"
"Why did mother have to die?"
She cries, as radiation leaked into the suit.
[2 Days later]
In a construction pipe, 3 miles away from Ticonderoga.
The helmet screen lights up,
[S.O.S. Failed]
[Dehydration Detected]
[Contamination Detected]
[Lifespan Estimation 12 Days]
"Help me…."
"Help me."
"I want to live…."
She raises her hands,
"I want to kill her-"
[Eyes Open]
[Year-2016]
[Base DOGMA]
Akame wakes up,
"How long has it been since I had that nightmare as a dream?"
…..
She looks around,
"Where am I?"
A power cord hooked up to her spine supplies energy and nutrients.
She looks infront of her,
Her eyes widen as she sees her previous body hanging on the wall.
"Oh you woke up?"
A voice of a woman behind her,
As she walks to Akame, Akame remembers.
"This voice."
She tears up,
She looks at her face,
"Professor Hiori!"
She gets a sudden flashback of how Hiori used to look like.
A grown woman in her mid 30's with a mechanical body and a human head.
But now it was a teen girl who looked a lot like a human rather than a machine.
Akame hugs Hiori crying in her arms.
"I thought I lost you."
Hiori is taken aback by what she means.
"It's okay, everything will be fine."
