Chapter 136: Chapter 131: You Stole My People...
Herta's face darkened as she snapped back at Fu Lin's complaints.
"Why does that sound familiar? I think someone's told me that before." Fu Lin rubbed his chin, lost in thought.
"Dad, have you seen my phone?" Stelle approached and asked.
"Ahem! Here, with me. The 50 million credits inside is hard-earned, so don't…" Fu Lin pulled out the phone and handed it to Stelle, glancing at the 50 million credits inside.
------------------------------
"Don't worry, Dad's money is my money. I'll take good care of it and won't misuse it at all," Stelle promised, eyes gleaming as she looked at the 50 million credit points in her account balance.
"..." Fu Lin felt a bit awkward watching Stelle pat her chest in assurance, sensing something was off.
"Fu Lin, doesn't this fragment look like the missing piece of Himeko's God slayer Sword?" Fu Shi called out to Fu Lin while staring at the crimson fragment floating on the display platform, feeling a growing sense of familiarity.
"Himeko? Isn't she on the Express?" Stelle was deeply drawn to the fragment and asked curiously.
"The pattern on this fragment... it belongs to Schicksal." Welt scrutinized the fragment. Although the pattern was fragmented, his familiarity with Schicksal allowed him to recognize it immediately.
Hearing Welt's words, Fu Lin approached Fu Shi, staring at the red fragment. A strange aura seemed to call out to him. Reaching out to touch the fragment, a surge of warmth enveloped his body, and Himeko's smiling figure appeared before him, accompanied by a faint whisper that soon faded away.
"Take care of Kiana for me…"
"…" Fu Lin stood frozen, Himeko's soft whisper still echoing in his ears.
"Fu Lin, what's wrong?" Fu Shi gently patted Fu Lin's cheeks, trying to snap him out of it.
"Huh? Oh, it's nothing."
"Herta, is this item for sale?" Fu Lin asked, regaining his composure and turning excitedly to the Herta.
"What are you thinking? Every artifact here was obtained through great effort, and their worth can't be measured by money," Herta replied, raising an eyebrow at Fu Lin's sudden eagerness, clearly puzzled.
"Unless…" Herta trailed off, leaving Fu Lin hanging.
"Unless what?" Fu Lin pressed.
"Unless you offer something of equal value. I'm only making this exception because you saved the space station. But if your offer doesn't satisfy me, there'll be no deal." Herta eyed Fu Lin, noting his genuine interest in the fragment, and set her terms.
"How about this?" Fu Lin placed a bucket filled with golden liquid on the ground, immediately catching Herta's attention.
"This is... Move aside, will you?" Herta tried to inspect the golden liquid, but Fu Lin blocked her, prompting her to pout indignantly.
"Want it? Trade me the fragment, and I'll give you some for research. This is… the blood of the Aeon of Destruction," Fu Lin revealed, grinning as he saw Herta's interest grow. There was hope.
Herta's expression turned serious. "This is the blood of Nanook, the Aeon of Destruction. Where did you get this?"
"Never mind. I'll take this whole bucket, and the fragment will be yours," Herta declared.
"That's daylight robbery!" Fu Lin quickly intervened as Herta tried to take the entire bucket.
Herta, feigning ignorance, turned her back and began to bargain. "The blood of the Aeon of Destruction isn't that rare. It circulates throughout the universe. I even heard that some tavern uses it to brew alcohol, so it's not that valuable."
"And you… stole my—"
Before Herta could finish, Fu Lin rushed forward to cover her mouth, whispering, "I'll give you half the bucket, deal?"
"Hmph~ I'll return to my office for research. Suit yourselves," Herta said, giving Fu Lin a sharp glance before eagerly filling a container with half the bucket's contents. Without another word, she hurried off, eager to study the liquid.
"What did you steal from her? Why didn't you let her finish?" Fu Shi asked, curious about Herta's unfinished sentence.
"Hahaha, you snatched one of her followers. Isn't that like stealing her people? Now I have to clean up your mess." Fu Lin laughed nervously as he collected the Godslayer Sword fragment and the remaining golden liquid.
"Why do I feel like you're lying and trying to shift the blame onto me?" Fu Shi eyed Fu Lin suspiciously, sensing something was off.
"Let's head back to the platform. Himeko and the others are waiting," Fu Lin suggested, eager to change the subject.
"Himeko asked me to check: will you join us on this journey to explore the unknown, or stay at Herta's space station?" Welt asked, glancing at Fu Lin and Fu Shi before turning to Stelle.
"I…" Stelle looked between Fu Lin, Fu Shi, and Welt, visibly conflicted.
"It seems you haven't made up your mind. You can discuss it with Himeko when you meet her. March 7th is looking forward to you joining us," Welt said, adjusting his glasses.
