Hogwarts: This Dark Lord is Good?

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: House Elf Butler Purchased

After Dumbledore left, Tom also went back to his room to pack his things.

Wade, of course, didn't stay idle.

He didn't have much to begin with, not even extra clothes.

However, when the owl from Diagon Alley delivered the items he had purchased, his belongings suddenly increased.

Wade found a large bag and packed everything inside.

Then, he sat down with his book and quietly began to read.

Perhaps it was because he had taken some body-enhancing potions in Diagon Alley, but even until midnight, he still had no desire to sleep.

Ding! Time check, midnight, zero minutes, new items have appeared in the shop!

Suddenly, the familiar notification sound rang in his mind.

Wade put down the spellbook and, as usual, checked the system store.

Speaking of which, it had been a long time since the system store had anything that Wade could use right away. He wondered if tonight there might be a pleasant surprise.

[Item 1: Complete Guide to Transfiguration (Unlocked) 1000 Merit Points]

[Item 2: House-Elf Butler (Unlocked) 300 Merit Points]

[Refresh Time Countdown: 23 hours 59 minutes 35 seconds]

[Merit Points: 1400 points]

[Dark Lord Achievement: Not completed]

"Finally, something new has appeared..." Wade looked at the two items with excitement.

[Complete Guide to Transfiguration: This book contains all the foundational knowledge of Transfiguration and includes insights and experiences from every great Transfiguration master throughout history.]

Wade stared at the system description in shock.

It includes the insights of every Transfiguration master throughout history?

No wonder it's worth 1000 merit points for just one book!

Wade's gaze moved to the next item.

[House-Elf Butler: An experienced house-elf who previously served a certain pure-blood Dark wizard family. Since the last member of the family passed away half a month ago, this house-elf tragically gained its freedom. Once the host chooses to purchase this item, the owner of the house-elf will transfer to the host, and the house-elf will never betray the host.]

This is the first time a living creature has appeared in the system's store!

However, Wade was still quite pleased with this "item." Who wouldn't want an experienced house-elf?

This could be an invaluable helper! I want one!

Moreover, this house-elf was so cheap, only 300 merit points.

Wade didn't hesitate, first purchasing Complete Guide to Transfiguration. With his previous experience, he once again exchanged this book into the GenZ version.

The next moment, a novel titled The Count of Monte Cristo suddenly appeared in his hands.

Clearly, this Complete Guide to Transfiguration also had the same disguise as Basic Spellbook!

Wade put the book aside and began purchasing the second item.

Ding! Congratulations to the host for successfully purchasing the House-Elf Butler!

Ding! Please find the house-elf!

With the system's prompt, a semi-transparent mini-map appeared in Wade's vision.

On the map, there was a prominent red dot and a small arrow.

Wade carefully observed and quickly understood.

The small arrow represented himself, and the red dot should be the location of the house-elf.

Wade noticed that the red dot wasn't far from him.

However, the red dot remained stationary on the map, which puzzled Wade.

Was the house-elf sleeping? Otherwise, why would it be completely still?

Nonetheless, Wade didn't waste any time. He grabbed an oil lamp and quietly left the orphanage.

He compared the map and walked along the muddy main street, heading east for about 200 meters. Then, he turned into a narrow alley on the side.

This alley was small and dirty, often emitting a disgusting stench.

Wade walked carefully, stepping through the waterlogged ground, and reached the end of the alley.

In the dim light of the oil lamp, Wade saw a shabby garbage bin.

Next to the bin, there appeared to be a small figure lying.

Ding! The host has arrived at the house-elf's location.

As the system's prompt ended, the mini-map in Wade's view disappeared.

Wade put down the dim oil lamp and took out his wand from his pocket.

"Lumos!"

The light from the tip of his wand illuminated the dark alley.

He saw a house-elf lying on the ground, barely alive.

The elf was wearing a filthy rag, so worn out it was hard to see its original color, with its tennis ball-sized eyes tightly shut.

Wade noticed that the elf's face and body had several injuries.

It seemed like it had been recently attacked by some sharp object, appearing to have fainted from blood loss.

Such severe injuries, and yet this house-elf did not die from excessive blood loss. It was still clinging to life, not dead yet.

Wade guessed that it must have been the system's power that temporarily held his life after he purchased the item.

No wonder it was so cheap; it turned out he only had half a life left...

Thinking of this, Wade didn't waste any time. He first used a cleaning spell to remove the dirt from the house-elf's wound.

Then, he took out the Herbal Potion and the Mnster Energy drik thingy he had exchanged through the system earlier and carefully sprinkled it on the wound.

The white ginseng produced by the system proved to be highly effective. As soon as it touched the wound, it began to heal rapidly!

After treating the wound, Wade took out the bottle of potion he had left over from today.

The potion's effect was to replenish energy and temporarily enhance physical strength, which was why Wade hadn't felt as exhausted as Tom when he returned earlier.

Now, it seemed, it was just the right time to use it.

Wade held his wand in his mouth, and in the light of the wand, one hand lifted the house-elf's head while the other slowly poured the remaining half-bottle of potion into its mouth.

A moment later...

"Cough, cough, cough..." The house-elf slowly opened its bloodshot eyes, and the first thing it saw was Wade, who was right in front of it.

"Kind-hearted sir... Did you save Toby's life?"

Toby struggled to sit up, looking in astonishment at the wounds on his body that had already healed.

When he looked back at Wade, his eyes were filled with intense gratitude.

"Yes, I found you lying here, all covered in wounds. So, I did some basic treatment for you," Wade calmly replied, removing his wand from his mouth.

"Thank you, kind sir. But Toby is a shameful little elf, not worthy of the kind sir's magic potion for treatment, because he is free..."

Toby paused here, sobbing with sadness.

"Although it wasn't Toby's fault, my last master died in a duel..."

"Toby was foolish and shamefully became free... Kind sir, would you take Toby in?"

"I am Wade, Wade Reynolds. If you are willing, I can become your new master," Wade answered calmly.

Of course, Wade would not refuse Toby's loyalty; he wasn't Hermione.

Besides, this had already cost him 300 merit points and two bottles of potions.

Toby struggled to rise, then knelt on one knee in front of Wade.

"As you wish, young master Wade. From today, Toby will be your most loyal servant, forever!"
