Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Professor Comes to Your Door
July 28th, Early Morning
"Didn't sleep well last night?"
"Yeah," David Adrian replied with a tired nod to his father, Philemon Adrian, who was sitting on the sofa reading the morning newspaper.
Over the past two days, David had spent a significant amount of time studying magic, particularly the three Unforgivable Curses he had unexpectedly received. He had tested them extensively, causing him to lose precious sleep. His lack of rest was evident in the sluggishness of his movements and the exhaustion on his face.
Since he could not use the Unforgivable Curses on humans, his best test subjects were mice. David had asked the servants to buy a hundred of them, and he still had plenty left.
Through these experiments, he had gained a deeper understanding of magic.
To successfully cast a spell, a wizard typically needs five elements: a wand, the correct wand movement, an incantation, the right emotion, and proper magical output.
However, David's full-level mastery of the Unforgivable Curses removed three of these requirements. He did not need a wand, a specific gesture, or even to say the spell aloud—he only needed to channel his magic and, in most cases, feel the required emotion.
But thanks to his special talent, "Heart of Darkness," he could even bypass the emotional aspect. This meant he could cast spells effortlessly, as long as he controlled the flow of his magic.
In just two days, David had gone from casting the Killing Curse with his fingers to casting it with his eyes. He could now kill anyone simply by glaring at them.
It was terrifying.
His Killing Curse was likely even more potent than Voldemort's.
The only problem? He could never use it openly.
Still, during his experiments, he managed to unlock two new achievements:
[Wandless Casting]
Description: Mastering the ability to cast spells without a wand.
Goal: Successfully cast a spell without a wand.
Reward: A random spell.
[Real Electric Eyes]
Description: Glowing eyes—the most dazzling child!
Goal: Successfully cast a light-related spell using only your eyes.
Reward: A random spell.
The rewards were Petrificus Totalus (the Full-Body Bind Curse) and a spell called "Energy Siphon."
David was already familiar with Petrificus Totalus, but Energy Siphon was new to him. The spell allowed him to detonate an enemy, absorb their magic to create a protective shield, and enhance his next spell.
It reminded him of something out of a video game.
However, unlike the Unforgivable Curses from his newbie gift package, these spells were not max level. They were only at the first level, meaning David had to learn them the normal way.
For that, he needed a wand.
"Today's the Day"
David stretched lazily on the sofa. Today, according to the owl's reply, a Hogwarts professor would visit him to provide guidance for new students.
He also noticed that his panel had been updated:
Name: David Adrian
Age: 11
Bloodline: Wizard
Talents:
Super Soul (A stronger soul improves learning efficiency and spellcasting speed.)
Strong Body (Enhances physical fitness and magic adaptability through training.)
Heart of Darkness (Boosts dark magic talent; allows black magic use without emotional assistance.)
Spells:
Killing Curse (Level 10)
Cruciatus Curse (Level 10)
Imperius Curse (Level 10)
Energy Siphon (Level 1)
Petrificus Totalus (Level 1)
His father, Philemon, put down his newspaper and smiled knowingly.
"If I were your age, I wouldn't be able to sleep either," he said.
David sighed. "It's not excitement, Dad. I just spent all night studying magic."
Philemon raised an eyebrow. "And what did you figure out?"
David yawned. "That without a wand, I can't do much. So my first priority is getting one."
His father chuckled at his son's straightforward response.
"Alright, breakfast is ready," came a voice from behind them.
David turned to see his mother, Nitia Adrian, standing at the entrance of the living room.
Nitia rarely cooked—household tasks were left to the staff—but today was different. She had taken the day off specifically because of the Hogwarts visit.
David's parents, though not wizards, took his admission into Hogwarts very seriously.
Their family owned a major oceanic shipping company, and through their business, they had encountered strange occurrences at sea—things that could not be explained by ordinary science.
Through their navy contacts, they had also heard rumors of a hidden magical world.
The existence of Hogwarts did not shock them. It confirmed what they had already suspected.
"The Professor Arrives"
By 9:00 AM, the entire Adrian family was seated in the living room, waiting.
Then, the doorbell rang.
Philemon took a deep breath and stood up. He had not felt this nervous in years.
Since they knew that the existence of magic had to remain a secret, they had given their staff the day off to ensure privacy.
Philemon opened the door to a sight he would never forget.
A woman stood there, dressed in a dark green robe and wearing a pointed wizard's hat. She had square-framed glasses and a stern expression, despite the warmth in her eyes.
It was Professor Minerva McGonagall.
