Harry Potter: Return From Future

Chapter 46: Newcomer

Seeing who the newcomer was, it was Hermione whose face lit up. Harry only felt his amusement increasing and Daphne had her brows scrunched.

She did not actually want to get involved in to this mess but now she had become an unwilling participant. She could only sigh at her bad 'fortune.'

Hermione jumped to her feet, "Mr. Weasley, you are here."

The newcomer was indeed Arthur Weasley. He looked towards Hermione and gave a stiff smile.

"She is arresting Harry," said Hermione. Although, she wanted to defend Harry but she realised that Harry had indeed something wrong. As such, no further defence or explanation came from her mouth.

Arthur after his initial reaction was not paying any attention towards Hermione. Her gaze was locked on Amelia Bones.

"Madam Bones," he said with almost an angry expression.

Amelia's expression had also turned cold, "Arthur Weasley."

"May I ask," said Arthur. "What are you doing here?"

"And why is Harry Potter being detained," he said with gritted teeth. "I believe that you have no authority to detain Harry Potter in such a manner."

"You should talk to Albus Dumbledore," added Arthur.

"Oh!" Amelia narrowed her eyes. "Now, you Mr. Weasley is going to tell me, how to do my work."

"And you may not ask, why I am detaining Harry Potter," she continued. Her tone was fiery.

"This is my duty as DMLE head," she added. "And I have complete authority to detain Mr. Potter."

"I do not need any permission from you or," her tone flared even more as she spat, "Albus Dumbledore."

"Mr. Potter," Amelia said. "Follow me."

Now that Arthur had arrived, Amelia wanted to go away from this possible as fast as possible. She knew that Arthur did not had the capability to stop her… and soon someone else would be joining him. Arthur was only here to buy some time and she could not possibly allow that.

Harry gave an apologetic look towards Arthur and was about to follow Amelia. Meanwhile, Amelia had taken 2 steps in the already cramped room but Arthur stood on the door of the compartment and had no intention of moving.

"Amelia," said Arthur. His face had hardened with resolve and tone was firm. "You are not taking Harry Potter."

"If it came to that, it will be us to bring him directly to DMLE office," he spat. "You have no right to interrogate him… he is not yet 21… he is a magically a minor and thus you cannot speak to him alone."

Amelia knew that Arthur's logic was 'somewhat' correct but she had no desire to give up now.

"Mr. Weasley," Harry chimed in a 'meek' voice. "I think, you should not fight for me… I have no problem in going along with Madam Bones."

"She has even assured me that nothing will happen to me," added Harry in an underconfident tone.

Arthur, at the moment, wanted to retort badly that it was not him (Harry) who would get into problem.

A smirk appeared on Amelia's face and she whipped her wand, "Move away Mr. Weasley."

"Or you want a magical showdown between us," she smirked. "I believe that, I can also take you along for obstructing in my work."

Arthur gritted his teeth. He did not have any problem with bringing and pointing his wand back at Amelia but he knew that he was no match for her. The moment, he would have his wand out, Amelia will take him down. And she will do that in moments.

He was running his brains fast trying to find some solution while Amelia was about to press forward when a calm voice cut through the tension.

"I believe I made it in time," came an old voice from outside the compartment.

The tension on Arthur's face immediately faded as his face lit up. He side stepped and allowed to new comer to step inside the already crowded compartment.

Hermione's face further lit up in joy while Daphne stiffened. Albus dumbledore walked inside with his twinkling eyes and his trademark grandfatherly smile.

His eyes took into account the whole of compartment and ultimately settled on Amelia Bones.

"Amelia," he smiled. "I do not think we need to go through acts of violence for such small matter."

Amelia's face had hardened in annoyance and she put her wand down.

"Obstructing my work," she spat with hatred, "is a crime. I had all rights to arrest Arthur Weasley himself."

"Well," sighed Dumbledore. "I cannot deny that."

"But Arthur was doing it all with good intentions," he added.

"Albus Dumbledore," Harry could feel the hatred radiating from her tone. "Let me make it clear that even you cannot stop me from taking Harry Potter in detention."

"Under my watch," she boomed. "He will have no privileges just because he is the boy who lived."

"To stop me, you need to fight me," she continued. "And I know that you are more than capable enough to do it."

"But I am acting as DMLE head," she added. "You would not want to cross me on this."

Amelia was in no mood to back down. She had gotten a rare opportunity and she could not let it go away.

"Amelia," said Dumbledore. "You are mistaken."

He grinned, "I have no intention of stopping you."

Harry at this moment understood that old coot was about to play his card.

"But while stepping on the train," Dumbledore added with amusement. "I happened to meet Mr. Walse."

"And he had something interesting to mention," he said. "You should hear it before you take any action."
