Harry, meanwhile, paid no heed to the crowd and simply sat back on his previous position. Daphne and Hermione had expressions of shock, surprise, disbelief and stupefy on their faces.

"Harry what was this?" Hermione questioned. Hidden underlying her shocked voice was a hint of fear.

Till the time, Hermione asked the question, the Slytherin had already been drawn out by his lackeys. Whispers… loud enough to be heard inside the compartment and a commotion had broken outside.

Even so no student was daring enough to enter the compartment.

"What was what, Hermione?" Harry questioned with an amused expression.

Hermione widened her eyes and was about to berate, when a certain person walked inside. Seeing her, Daphne's face stiffened while Hermione had uncertain expression on her face. She was a middle aged woman whom Harry had already encountered once.

"Harry Potter," said the new comer. She had grey hair, fair skin and a square shaped facial structure.

"I assume you were the one who bashed the head of a certain student of Slytherin student named Rion Walse, into the wall of the compartment," she continued as her eyes narrowed towards the caved in portion of the wooden wall.

"This resulted in a head injury to the student and the breaking of his head causing a significant amount of blood loss," she added.

While the woman was speaking, her facial expression was neutral but her eyes were intense. A range of complex emotions had been flickering in her eyes.

"You are?" Harry questioned back. An expression of frown formed on his face.

Hearing the question, the face of the lady fell. Few the expectations she might have had were shattered.

Even so, she remained composed as she sat directly opposite Hermione, next to Daphne.

"I am Amelia Bones," she introduced. "Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, in short DMLE."

"What is this?" Harry questioned with another frown.

"You do not know?" It was Daphen who had interjected in a shocked voice.

Realising she had made a mistake by speaking out of turn, she quickly shut her mouth after she muttered, "Sorry."

"Should I?" Harry fired back.

"Hermione, do you know?" Harry added. "I don't think we were taught something like this at Hogwarts."

Hermione also shook her head, "I do not know exactly what it is… but I guess it some department in the ministry of magic related to laws."

"And we were never taught such things at Hogwarts," she added.

"See," Harry said with a smile.

Amelia Bones sighed. A tinge of disappointment was visible on her face. And the intensity that her eyes had been holding had also quite lessened.

"DMLE," she explained. "As this lady guessed, is a department under the ministry of magic."

"Its primary purpose is… in simple words to bring 'criminals' to justice," she continued. "Although, it also has other complex jobs like managing aurors or preparing frameworks of new laws to be created… these are not important."

"I see," Harry added.

"To your answer," Harry continued. "You can say that I have bashed his head."

Meanwhile, Hermione now clear of the purpose of DMLE could very well guess what the lady was here for. And she was hardly able to stop herself from freaking out.

Daphne, on the other hand, though silent and expressionless was watching everything with a lot of intrigue.

Amelia nodded and questioned, "Well… you understand that what you have done… assaulting a fellow student of Hogwarts would be called a crime?"

"I guess so," Harry nodded calmly.

Amelia had expected Harry to panic or to freak out on hearing these words but seeing him so calm made her think.

But Hermione was not so calm.

She ran out of patience, as she shouted, "You are going to arrest him? Are you?"

Amelia looked strangely at this 'muggle born' as she commented dryly, "Your friend is very concerned about you."

"That she is," said Harry as he placed his hands on her back and patted her twice as a sign of assurance.

Even so Amelia explained, "Well you cannot technically call it an arrest."

"But I have to sure put Mr. Potter into detention," she said. "Further actions would depend on what course i.e., Mr. Walse chooses to take."

Thinking that Harry might get afraid and panic, she whispered with calming voice, "And do not worry."

"I give you my word that nothing will happen to you," she added. "But following the law and coming with me is the best course of action you can take now."

"Trust me," she added as an afterthought. "You won't regret this decision."

A flicker of amusement flashed in Harry's eyes. He could understand what Amelia Bones wanted from him. And even so, he could come up with thousand reasons and loopholes in the laws to avoid the 'detention', he wanted to see some reactions of his detention, if Amelia Bones was actually able to detain him.

After all, a lot of people would not be willing to allow Harry to spend some alone time with Amelia Bones.

"Ok," Harry thus agreed normally. "I will cooperate with the law."

Hermione was about to shriek but Harry placed his hand on her head as he stood up.

"Hermione," he said his voice was calm. "I will be fine."

Though reluctant, Hermione remembered all the changes Harry had shown in the past 2 month, she nodded. And it was not like, she had a lot option.

Probably after reaching Hogwarts, she could request Dumbledore and Minerva.

Amelia's expression lit up in joy.

"Follow me," she said with a happy face as she stood up quickly.

But luck was not on her side as the gate opened and another person walked in.

[If there is any doubt that how all these people are coming in. Remember, Harry had reached the platform quite early and thus the Hogwarts express is still on the platform and Amelia is obviously, here to drop her niece, Susan Bones. She interfered as she learned about the incident because of the commotion.]
