Harry Potter: I'm an Exemplary Student

Chapter 45: Chapter 045: Farming and Professor Oren

Just like finding a favorite toy, Kyle had a lot of fun playing in the Room of Requirement.

He stretched out his finger and waved it gently, and the rain instantly turned into heavy snow. With another wave, the snow turned into the size of eggs.

To be honest, it was so cool to be able to change the surrounding environment with just a wave of his hand.

After having enough fun, Kyle suddenly remembered that he still had some work to do, so he reluctantly turned the room back to sunny weather.

Forget it. There will be plenty of time in the future.

Kyle squatted on the ground and carefully took out two bean-sized seeds from his pocket, fearing that he would crush them accidentally.

The main reason was that the seeds were too precious, and they were not his but picked up from the Herbology class.

Really picked up.

Coincidentally, in the Herbology class just now, a little wizard from Gryffindor was so excited that he successfully answered Professor Sprout's question that he threw the shovel in his hand onto the Chomping Cabbage opposite.

Without any surprise, the shovel was bitten on the spot, and the little wizard was deducted one point for this.

Initially, this matter was over, but Kyle accidentally discovered that the Chomping Cabbage spit out two seeds not long after spitting out the remains of the shovel.

At the time, Professor Sprout was looking for a new shovel and did not see this scene.

As an excellent Hufflepuff, Kyle must help his Head of House share his worries, so he spontaneously helped her pick them up.

Kyle dug two holes of suitable size, put the seeds in, and spread a thin layer of soil on them.

After doing all this, Kyle nodded with satisfaction.

"Very good, I will help keep it first, and bring it to Professor Sprout next time I go to class."

...

After leaving the Room of Requirement, Kyle returned to the Common Room and went to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom with the Hufflepuff first-year students during the afternoon class.

On the way, everyone was very excited. It was unknown whether it was because they were looking forward to the Defense Against the Dark Arts course or they were simply interested in the professor who would only teach for one year.

Or it could be both.

The Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom was on the second floor.

When they pushed open the door and walked in, they found that the neatly arranged tables had all been moved to the wall, making the classroom look empty.

Professor Oren had arrived. At this time, he was standing behind the podium, fiddling with a covered cage.

Kyle was a little surprised when he saw this scene. He didn't expect the Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts in their class to be a practical person like Lupin.

"Good afternoon, everyone."

After everyone arrived, Professor Oren looked at everyone and said gently. "Put away the books. We don't need them not only in this class, but in every class in the future."

With just one sentence, Professor Oren won the favor of many young wizards.

Is there anything more enjoyable than not having to bring books to class? If there is, it must be that we do not have to bring books to every class.

As it happens, Professor Oren has done both of these.

"This professor must be really capable." A young wizard immediately said. "He will definitely be re-elected successfully!"

"Thank you for your words, Mr. Borg, but unfortunately I can't give Gryffindor extra points for this."

Professor Oren smiled and continued. "In my opinion, theoretical knowledge is always the easiest part of this course. You can learn it by yourself. There is no need to take up precious class time."

"In class, I would rather teach you how to protect yourself when facing danger. This danger may come from unknown Dark Magic, or it may be some dangerous Magical Creatures. But no matter which one, it may cost you your life."

Seeing that the atmosphere around him was a lot more solemn, Professor Oren continued. "But for your age, it is too early to contact Dark Magic, and the Headmaster will not allow me to do so. So let's start with the simple one, Magical Creatures."

After speaking, Professor Oren gently pushed the cage. A dull "buzzing" sound suddenly came from it, and the cage cover was also shaken from side to side as if it could fall off at any time.

Some of the little wizards who were standing closer to the front were frightened and stepped back.

"Don't worry, although this little guy is dangerous, as long as I'm here, you won't be hurt." Professor Oren said seriously. "I only ask you to stay calm and remember every word I say next."

After that, Oren lifted the cloth cover to reveal the contents of the cage.

A blue insect, about one inch in size, the buzzing sound just now was the sound of it flapping its wings.

But unlike other insects, its wings grow on the top of its head. When it flies, it's like wearing a bamboo dragonfly, and its body will turn around at the same time.

It looks pretty cute.

Katie Bell couldn't help but sneered. "Professor, it doesn't look as dangerous as you said."

In Katie Bell's opinion, what Professor Oren said just now was obviously exaggerated. She didn't even need a wand to kill such a tiny thing. She could kill it with a slap. How could it be dangerous?

"I hope you can still be so confident later, Miss Bell." Professor Oren smiled and asked. "So, does anyone know what it is? The first one to say it can add five points to his own House."

In the crowd, Mikel suddenly heard a subtle voice, which seemed to be a name.

Under the temptation of extra points, he didn't think about it and blurted out. "Billywig!"

"Great, Mr. Mikel." Professor Oren said happily. "Five points for Hufflepuff!"

"That's right, Billywig, XXX-level Magical Creature." Professor Oren explained. "Everyone, pay attention, there is a thin stinger at the bottom of its body. Anyone who is stung by Billywig will feel dizzy and then float up. If you are stung many times, you will even float in the air uncontrollably for several days."

Professor Oren turned his eyes to Katie Bell. "Now, do you still think it is not dangerous?"

Katie Bell turned her head away and said nothing. But judging from her expression, she didn't seem very convinced.

"Professor..." At this time, a little wizard asked eagerly. "So our class is to deal with this Billywig?"

"Not entirely right." Professor Oren shook his head and said. "Before that, you must first learn the spell to deal with it. I won't start the actual combat until I'm sure there is no problem."
