Harry Potter: BE a GOD

Chapter 411: Chapter 411: Conflict

Jacqueline and her group were almost immediately discovered upon entering.

The Parliament building was too crowded, and to avoid suddenly appearing next to a Muggle, they chose not to use the Disillusionment Charm but rather boldly entered through the main door.

The moment the door swung open without a breeze, the vigilant guards in the surveillance room immediately reported the incident.

"Damn, they're in! I can't see them!" one officer said.

"Protect the members!" The captain of the guard, approaching the fire control box, shattered its glass cover and pressed a red button. Alarms immediately sounded throughout the Parliament building, and all the smoke detectors were triggered, starting to spray water everywhere.

Jacqueline was startled by the sudden alarm and then soaked, causing her and her companions to panic. The Disillusionment Charms on them became unstable under the water's wash.

A guard in the hallway saw a weird distortion of colors appearing amidst the curtain of rain, flickering in and out of visibility. He immediately took cover behind a corner, shouting, "I see them, on the first floor corridor! Their invisibility has failed!"

"Intruders! Reveal yourselves or I'll shoot!"

"They've found us!" one of the young wizards exclaimed. "Jacqueline, what do we do?"

"The prime minister is in a meeting on the second floor, use the Disillusionment Charm!"

This time, having done their homework well, they knew the president's meeting location.

Jacqueline immediately teleported to the second floor. They had scoured the entire building while searching for the president earlier, and now that they were discovered, they no longer had to be cautious.

Their Disillusionment Charms had already failed, and when the guard turned the corner with his gun drawn, he only saw several figures in black robes suddenly twist and disappear from his sight, leaving him gaping in disbelief.

Are there really superpowers in this world?

On the second floor meeting room, the prime minister and several cabinet members hid under tables. Hearing the report through his earpiece, the captain shouted, "They're coming, get ready for battle!"

Suddenly, several gunshots sounded from the corridor outside, indicating that the guards had engaged the intruders.

"Jelsen is hit!" someone cried out.

"Use the Shield Charm!" a woman's voice commanded.

A variety of indiscernible shouts followed, sounding like incantations, then a cry of surprise, "Magic! They're using magic! Requesting backup, please..."

"Boom!" The door was blasted open.

"Fire!" the captain yelled, and a barrage of gunfire filled the room. However, several office desks floated in front of the door, effectively stopping all bullets, and then the heavy desks were hurled back at the guards, forcing them to dodge.

"Fiendfyre!" A torrent of flames shot from somewhere, directly hitting a guard's face, who screamed as blisters formed on his burnt skin.

"Bang!" Suddenly, a hand grenade thrown by a guard exploded at the doorway, followed by a scream, "My leg! My leg!"

"Costin! Damn it!" Jacqueline's Shield Charm blocked the grenade's blast, but Costin wasn't so lucky, standing right next to it when it detonated. His shield wasn't strong enough to withstand such an attack, and his leg was shredded by shrapnel, nearly passing out from pain.

"Damn Muggles!" Angered by the constant setbacks, what should have been an easy manipulation of foolish Muggles had turned into a series of troubles, and now they had even wounded a wizard!

Damn it! These beings not even worth as Dungbombs! They should have just perished quietly like goblins! Thinking this, she raised her wand, "Fiendfyre!" Forget the damned prime minister, forget the damned Muggles, let them all perish in Fiendfyre!

Releasing the Fiendfyre Curse, Jacqueline grabbed the still screaming Costin and teleported away.

...

Elsewhere, the Quirinal Palace was heavily surrounded by numerous special forces.

Above, two armed helicopters circled, and several high points around were occupied by snipers, closely monitoring the movements inside the president's office.

"The people inside, you are surrounded. Release the president, and we can let you go," the negotiator's voice came from the helicopter's loudspeaker.

Inside the president's office, curtains tightly drawn, four young individuals in black robes held a bruised middle-aged man between them, one pointing a small stick at the man's temple.

"Release Bratt! Or I'll blow your president's head to smithereens!" the young wizard yelled.

But facing them, sitting cross-legged in a black suit, was the president's bodyguard, his left arm around Bratt the wizard's neck and a pistol in his right hand, also aimed at his head.

"You first release the president, my bullet is faster than your spells!" The president's bodyguard was cold and seemingly indifferent to the president's life.

Earlier, the wizards had easily infiltrated the Quirinal Palace, and not many people were there since it served as the president's workplace. They quickly found the man called the president in the largest room.

However, the man looked different from the photo, but they decided to take him anyway. After capturing the president during a break in his meetings, they took him to a barn.

But only Jacqueline knew the Soul-Splitting Curse, so they had to wait for her return. The president, initially panicked from the kidnapping, soon began to negotiate with the young wizards, convincing them he fully supported the idea of wizards ruling over Muggles and promising them unparalleled power if they returned him to the Presidential Palace.

"Just let me continue as president, and I can manage the country for you."

The president's reaction fit the young wizards' stereotype of a greasy Muggle politician, so they didn't doubt him much and took him back to his office.

Then, they were surrounded by guards, and after a brief skirmish, the situation escalated to its current state.

Okai regretted not being more careful, as Bratt had been captured by the opponent. They could escape at any moment, but Bratt would be left in their hands. As he hesitated, suddenly, Okai felt an overwhelming fear and instinctively ducked his head.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Several gunshots sounded almost simultaneously, two of the wizards holding the president were hit by bullets flying through the window, their fate unknown. Only Okai and another wizard, who was in a blind spot, Bark, were spared.

But the black-suited bodyguard seemed to have anticipated this, immediately firing at them.

Bark hadn't even drawn his wand when he was shot in the head, while Okai managed to cast a Shield Charm in time to block the bullets, but he was too frightened to stay any longer and teleported away.

However, as soon as Okai fled, Jacqueline and the remaining wizards arrived, intending to rescue their comrades, but were greeted by the sight of Muggles carrying away their fallen bodies.
