Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

Chapter 1150: An Open conversation

At the end of the battle, Voldemort’s power exceeded that of Dumbledore, who used the Elder Wand.

At that moment, he even turned his body into black mist, which was not a magic that humans could master and use.

From the black mist, Evan clearly felt the aura of the evil god.

“We can only guess that from the current situation, he can indeed use some of the power of the evil god,” said Dumbledore. “Voldemort should have done some experiments, but that kind of evil power is not something that humans can possess, and his magic is very unstable.”

The shadow power from the void was dark and chaotic, and could only be mastered by the body of an evil god.

As Dumbledore said, after Voldemort used that magic, his power became very unstable, and the black mist quickly dispersed and reformed into a solid body.

Evan felt this. Voldemort’s power seemed strong, but after being counterattacked by the protective power in Harry’s body, he was severely injured.

Especially in the end, he could only flee in a hurry, not even caring about Bellatrix.

“Well, his ultimate goal should be to complete the magic left by Slytherin himself,” said Evan.

“That’s right!” said Dumbledore softly. “Voldemort’s ultimate goal is to become a forbidden immortal being.”

According to the magic left by Slytherin, in order to become an evil god from a mortal, countless creatures’ corpses and human souls were needed.

This meant more killing, and the fear and darkness brought by Voldemort would be beyond imagination.

“Professor, can we still stop him?”

“We will win; there is no doubt about that,” Dumbledore replied simply. “There is no need to worry too much. Voldemort still has many difficulties to overcome in order to complete that magic. We have enough time.”

After a short silence, the sun had risen. There was a rim of dazzling orange visible over the mountains and the sky above it was colorless and bright.

The light fell upon Dumbledore, upon the silver of his eyebrows and beard, upon the lines gouged deeply into his face.

As long as Dumbledore was there, there was nothing to worry about. Evan had such a feeling.

Moreover, there were the Four Founders of Hogwarts. Their presence had been woven throughout the entire event.

In the future that Evan saw, everything was moving in a positive direction.

“Riddle and I found some clues in the texts left by Slytherin. As long as we crack them, we can know the whereabouts of the last part of the evil god’s body and the secrets left by Slytherin. I will inform you then,” said Dumbledore briskly. “Evan, do you have any other questions?”

“No!” Evan shook his head. He already knew the rest.

“Very good, I suppose you both…”

“Professor, this Prophecy Orb,” Harry said hurriedly. After confirming that the topic between Evan and Dumbledore was over, he put the glimmering Prophecy Orb on Dumbledore’s desk. He had an indescribable feeling in his heart. “I don’t understand, what is the prophecy about me and Voldemort? Also, why were Sirius and the members of the Order of the Phoenix in the Department of Mysteries?”

“It was a plan. We leaked false information to Voldemort, so that he thought he had a chance and took the initiative to expose himself,” said Evan.

“A plan? So that’s why Malfoy kidnapped me to the Ministry tonight, and you all knew about it.”

“We anticipated something like this happening, which is why Sirius and the others were in ambush,” Evan explained. “But we didn’t expect the Death Eaters to be so direct. I thought Voldemort would lure you over. So, it was an unexpected development.”

“Well, an unexpected development, it doesn’t really make any difference. I was kept in the dark like a fool,” said Harry sadly, with strange emotions spreading in his heart. “I know I can’t be trusted, so these plans have been kept from me…”

Since last summer vacation, Dumbledore had been avoiding him, keeping him out of operations, and wouldn’t even look at him.

Harry stared at Dumbledore, who was staring at the Prophecy Orb on the table.

Since he came back, he hadn’t looked at him once.

Of course, because of the connection between the damn scar and Voldemort, he was now untrustworthy.

He might leak all the information to Voldemort in his dreams or without knowing it.

It was disgusting to think about it this way, he was a monster!

“We didn’t mean it that way, Harry. We all trust you!” Evan said, noticing Harry’s strange expression.

“That’s how you trusted me…”

“I am sorry, Harry, I owe you an explanation,” said Dumbledore, his blue eyes calmly meeting Harry’s. “For the past year, I have kept it a secret from you. I knew that Voldemort might try to lure you to the Department of Mysteries; I knew that there was some kind of connection between you and Voldemort. Even after the incident in Norway at Christmas, I only had you learn Occlumency with Severus. I should have had an open conversation with you earlier, made you fully aware of the current situation, and involved you in the entire plan and operations instead of isolating you. But each time, I told myself to wait a little longer, that it wasn’t the right time to tell you everything.”

“I’m not a child anymore,” said Harry. “I … I can control myself, just like Evan.”

“Yes, you are as trustworthy as Evan, and you are already a qualified wizard! I should have told you everything earlier, Harry, instead of hiding it,” said Dumbledore. “In fact, when I learned that you were kidnapped to the Ministry of Magic tonight, I realized the mistake I made, a mistake that an elderly person usually makes. At that moment, I couldn’t even bear to think about what might have happened to you. It was then I realized that what I have done, and not done, with regard to you, bears all the hallmarks of the failings of age. Youth cannot know how age thinks and feels. But old men are guilty if they forget what it was to be young … and I seem to have forgotten lately…”

Harry didn’t know what to say. He couldn’t explain why his anger dissipated when Dumbledore looked at him. Strangely, this time he didn’t have the urge to attack Dumbledore, nor did he have the terrible thought to hurt him.

“I guessed, fifteen years ago,” said Dumbledore, “when I saw the scar upon your forehead, what it might mean. I guessed that it might be the sign of a connection forged between you and Voldemort.”

“You’ve told me this before, Professor,” said Harry bluntly. He didn’t care about being rude. He was fed up with this answer.

He had been getting this answer for a long time, whether from Evan or Dumbledore, who always told him about it over and over again.

Harry wanted to know more specific reasons, and what exactly was that prophecy?
