Guide to raise my cutie husbands

Chapter 1380: Delivery

The reason why the previous empress despite her tyranny chose Xie Zhenya who was the second princess as the crown princess was because she knew that her eldest daughter was a fool, a woman who knew how to enjoy the comforts but did not know how to maintain them. This was one of the reasons why the late empress chose Xie Zhenya.

Back then, Xie Zhenya did not believe that her sister was this incompetent but after seeing the reports sent by the spies, she had to admit that her sister was useless. Her decisions were simply catastrophic, and if this went on then their neighbouring countries would end up taking advantage of their situation.

"Yes, your Highness," her aide accepted the order. She picked up the document from the surface of the table and then turned to walk away. Once the General was gone, Xie Zhenya heaved a sigh of relief. She turned to look at her strategist, Cui Meiji and asked, "How is the training of soldiers going on?"

"It's going well," Cui Meiji answered with a calm voice. She pushed her glasses over the bridge of her nose. Cui Meiji then placed the scrolls in her hands on the table before unfurling them, "We have successfully appointed more than 500 women as the soldiers of our army. These women were exiles and they were thrown out of the capital after their mer husbands and sons were captured by the officials.

They want revenge for their family, so there is no chance for them of betraying us but I have still appointed a few of our people to keep an eye on them."

"General Shao is watching over their training and she says that everything is going fine. But we still need more than 1000 women, only then we will be able to get close to the step of going against the current Empress."

Though Cui Meiji was a very wise woman, she needed the resources as well. She couldn't help Xie Zhenya win the war with only a small army of 500 women when the imperial army had more than 10000 soldiers.

Xie Zhenya frowned. She wished she had stolen the tally of the Heavenly Thunder Army from her fief but she could no longer go back to that fief, if she did that then, Xie Xieren would most probably realize that the tally was hidden there.

It was better for her to stay where she was, lest the tally's hiding place were to come to light.

"Send a few of our people to City of Lamps. I can see that the officials there have plundered the city and did not leave anything for the commoners. Given that the condition of the city is in ruins, I believe that people will be moved if you play your cards right," Xie Zhenya ordered.

"I understand," Cui Meiji agreed but just as she was about to leave, the flap of the tent was pushed open and Shao Tengfei walked inside. Her expression was weird as she handed the package to Xie Zhenya, "Your Highness, did you relay the place of our hiding to the princess and the consorts? They have sent you a package."

Though the person who handed the package to Shao Tengfei was someone who was mute and deaf, she had learned from her experience that no one could ever be trusted blindly.

Even spouses as they would become their weakness. This was the reason why she did not contact her husband, Master Yuan who was living as a commoner in a small village.

Xie Zhenya looked at the packages in front of her and her eyes softened. She said to Shao Tengfei, "If I didn't then they would have died of worry. I don't want to needlessly worry about me when I am fine."

"Your Highness——"

"I know what you are scared about, General Shao," Xie Zhenya smiled at her teacher. "But there is no need to worry. I am certain that my husbands and daughter will be fine. There is someone who will protect them there."

Seeing that her mistress was certain and did not want to listen to anything she dropped the topic. Instead, Shao Tengfei turned to look at the package in front of her and questioned, "What are these? Did they send you something from the small village?"

She did not think that there was anything that could impress Xie Zhenya who had seen all kinds of rarities in the Imperial Palace. If anything the consorts were foolish by sending such things to the Princess when she was in hiding.

"Maybe," Xie Zhenya's eyes brightened when she thought about receiving something from the Big River Village. The speed of her hands also increased as she opened the package, soon the wooden box's lid was thrown to the side and the contents inside the package were revealed.

"What is this?" Shao Tengfei asked as she looked at the small glass bottles that had something white and pink placed inside of them.

She had never seen something like this before.

Xie Zhenya picked up the bottle from inside the box and then carefully examined it.

"I don't know I have never seen anything like this before," she then placed it down and searched for a letter. It was at the bottom of the box, and from the childish writing, Xie Zhenya knew that it was written by her daughter.

She carefully unfurled the letter and then started reading it thoroughly by the time she finished reading it, Xie Zhenya was quite surprised by Xie Lei's letter.

It seemed like Yu Dong had launched another set of new products and Xie Lei being a filial daughter wanted her mother to taste it as well.

Xie Zhenya's eyes softened as she picked up the strawberry package that was placed at the bottom of the wooden box and opened it. Even though they were locked in the box for a long time, the sweet scent of the strawberries flooded out the second, Xie Zhenya opened the box in which the red strawberries were.
