Chapter 1209: Part 2: Reunion
From MC's Perspective:
"Miss, we don't know anything for sure yet. The strength and identity of the killer is a mystery," Alec answered. He was unwilling in his heart to admit this. But it's a fact.
Vera revealed a helpless smile. They had never faced a situation like this before where there were no clues left behind.
Cory had an unbelievable look on her face. She knew that these two Elders had unique magic to track down criminals. They had done some spying work for the family in the past.
They could be considered experts in this area. To think they were unable to find out who the killer was. Now she understood why they were calling it dangerous.
Because the killer was so hidden.
"So what do we do now?"
"We don't know whether the person is from the True Elements Society or other forces?" Cory asked.
"I think it's not the True Elements Society. There is no need for them to kill an unknown elder. They don't know anything about the confidential information," Alec said.
Hearing that, everyone fell into contemplation. It was true that they had a feud with the True Elements Society. If the True Elements Society wanted to attack, then they would target some important people, not nobodies.
"Miss, you should go back. We still don't know the whereabouts of the killer. He could come back. It's better for you to leave," Alec was trying to persuade her.
Vera could see that Miss Cory was determined. But she couldn't help them. Her magic was different. The Main Anderson Family Wizards carried the power of bloodline magic.
Though they had the Anderson Family name, they were not from the main lineage.
Alec suddenly signaled to Maid Sally to convince her. He didn't want her to spend any more time here. The last thing they wanted was to see anything bad happen to her.
"Miss, I think we should go back," Sally said.
Cory sighed inwardly. She knew that it was difficult to stay here. She thought of finding some clue and chasing down the killer.
But the killer had disappeared mysteriously.
Meanwhile,
A colorless powder appeared out of nowhere and covered the entourage of Cory Anderson. Their magic senses didn't feel anything wrong. They inhaled the colorless magic powder.
Thud!
The next second, one by one, the wizards started falling down on the ground. They didn't know who attacked them. Now, all five of them were lying on the ground.
On the other hand, Cory gave up the struggle. She decided to leave. She didn't want to disturb the elders in their investigation.
"Let's go back..." Just as she turned around to say.
Everyone inhaled the colorless powder.
"This," Cory immediately felt sleepiness. She couldn't control herself and fainted on the spot.
"Miss," Sally appeared in front of her to hold her. Even she felt sudden dizziness out of nowhere.
"What's wrong?" Alec asked.
He was scared out of his wits seeing her collapse.
Thud!
The next second, Vera fainted on the spot. Her body dropped down to the ground.
"Enemy attack," Sally shouted.
Alec came to his senses. Just now they were speaking about the killer. He didn't expect he would be back.
"Sally, take Miss back to the mansion," Alec said.
Sally nodded and grabbed the unconscious Cory.
"Too late..." A hoarse voice sounded all of a sudden.
Sally and Alec inhaled a large amount of colorless powder by this time. They both began to lose consciousness.
Sally tried to send an emergency signal back to the family head.
Boom!
The next second, she and Alec got smacked from behind. Despite being powerful wizards, both fainted on the spot.
"He... He... He..."
"The appearance of the killer gave me the right opportunity. My decade-long plan is going to come true," a sinister voice spoke to himself.
The colorless human shape appeared. If one looked closely, they would see something blurry.
The wizard looked at the unconscious wizards and grinned widely. Especially when his gaze fell on Cory Anderson. His eyes flashed with intense greed.
"Sorry, miss. I have long coveted your unknown bloodline. So much so that I had to create a rift between the True Elements Society and us to create my chances."
"But I didn't expect the chance to appear this soon," he spoke to himself with a grin.
No one could see him. Only his voice could be heard.
Inside the Gregor Mansion, my eyes flashed with a series of realizations. A shocking secret was unfolding in front of me. On the control mirror, I was hearing a weird voice.
The person's appearance was not visible on the screen, which showed that he was not visible to others. No wonder they were taken down quickly.
Then I pushed down these thoughts quickly. I really didn't want to get involved in this. But it would be a waste if I didn't use this opportunity to save them.
Cory Anderson was the only acquaintance I had known inside Ancient Redwood Country. It would be a pity for her to die like this.
Outside,
The colorless figure started to reveal his true appearance. He didn't think there was any threat around him. When his whole appearance became visible, his face was revealed.
An old man over sixty with a sickly appearance. A yearning could be seen in his eyes when he looked at Cory Anderson.
"I'm going to take her away," he muttered.
"Sorry, you're dreaming right now," I appeared behind him and grabbed the old man's shoulder.
Swoosh!
The next second, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion with him.
"Gravity Field of Time Delay."
I cast the fourth stage of a magic spell. The old man was dumbfounded. For a second, he got confused. But this turned out to be a fatal mistake.
A powerful gravitational force struck the old man. But his powerful body withstood the first brunt. Yet he bent down to alleviate the pressure.
On the other hand, time seemed to slow down. But the gravitational force started to increase. The old wizard experienced pain that felt like it lasted for days. Yet it was merely seconds that had gone by.
His sickly body began to crack. Bones shattered. He screamed, yet the sound was not heard.
