Chapter 517: Asad vs Zombie Lord
"Sofia?" Asad muttered as he could somewhat recall that this key figure seemed to be an important person for Project Z or the government fund project that was supposedly researching to enhance human abilities and create what they call Super Soldiers…
However, Asad couldn't remember Sofia's role in this project.
Nonetheless, this matter wasn't important right now.
Asad's lips curled into a smile after seeing his opponent. "The Fleshrender Zombie, huh? Nice name… Let's see how you fare against my army."
Unfortunately, this Fleshrender Zombie Lord wasn't his target in his Ascension. As a matter of fact, his target wasn't even a Zombie Lord for his ascension quest but a Fire King Zombie instead.
It was a Zombie he had no idea where to find right now. He only had a rough idea of their location but searching the whole region alone would be very difficult for him. He could only hope that his allied Survivors and Clans that he knew would help him locate these Zombies.
Anyway, Asad focused on the enemy in front of him.
Like a true commander of an army, Asad started issuing commands as he unleashed his undead army.
"Death Knights, engage! Mummy Kings, curse it! Lich, provide support—Skeleton Warriors, surround and weaken the Zombie Lord!"
Just like that, under Asad's command, the Death Knights charged first. They were the most durable summons that he had.
As long as these Death Knights could endure the Zombie Lord's attacks, he was confident that he'd be able to kill it after some time.
The Death Knights used their massive swords as they slashed at the Lord Tier Zombie…
To Asad's surprise, the Zombie Lord didn't react and simply allowed itself to be hit by the attack.
Clank! Clank!
Sparks flew as their weapons connected with its armor.
"So tough?!"
The Fleshrender Zombie then swiped one of its massive hands, sending two Death Knights flying across the chamber.
Thud! Thud!
They crashed into the walls with a thunderous impact, but they rose again.
The Death Knights weren't killed but it showed how powerful his enemy was.
"It's doable…" Asad muttered seeing how his Death Knights were able to endure. As long as he had them, his Lich and the others would be able to continue to deal damage to the Lord Tier Zombie.
Sure enough, the Mummy Kings raised their staffs and they started to chant in an ancient language.
After a few moments, black tendrils of energy lashed out, wrapping around the Lord Zombie's limbs.
This binding also came with curses that slowed the Zombie's movements and sapped its strength, but the Fleshrender roared, creating a sound that made even Asad dizzy.
Then, the Zombie started recovering its strength and vitality, countering the damage almost instantly.
'It has that skill?' Asad frowned as he wasn't sure how many times this Zombie could do that. He could only hope that it could only be used once or at the very least, a few hours to be used again.
Asad then glanced at his most powerful 'magician' in his undead army.
The Lich, who was still hovering at the rear, finally unleashed a volley of dark spheres that slammed into Lord Zombie's chest, leaving dark and disgusting craters in its flesh.
Then, just like that, the Skeleton Warriors swarmed around its legs, hacking, and slashing, doing whatever they could in order to damage the Zombie Lord.
But the Fleshrender simply stomped, crushing several of them into dust.
"Tsk…" Asad clicked his tongue in frustration as he saw that they weren't doing enough damage to the Zombie.
It even feels like the Fleshrender Zombie wasn't using every it had and was simply playing around with his army of undead.
Indeed, after some time, the Fleshrender Zombie Lord had finally started using its incredible speed against them.
Boom!
It swung its hand in wide arcs, cleaving through Skeleton Warriors and even managing to wound one of the Death Knights.
Then, it released a deafening roar that sent shockwaves through the chamber.
Crack… Crack… Crack…
The whole place shook for a moment and Asad was worried that they'd get buried alive once the ceiling collapsed.
Thankfully, the structure held on and there was no immediate danger.
However, even if that was the case, the shockwaves rattled the undead and lost their momentum. This gave the Zombie Lord an opening to charge at the Lich. It seemed that it was aware that another binding spell it could cast might really trap it forever.
"Dream on!" Asad shouted. The Lich in his team was just too important… Three of them had already died during his raid in this building and he couldn't let his last Lich die.
With a swift decision, Asad raised his Black Grimoire.
Then, with a wave of his hand, a dark shield formed around the Lich, deflecting the Zombie Lord's attack at the last second.
It ate up over 300 Spirit Points but thankfully, he had brought enough Spirit Stones with him, allowing him to recover these lost points immediately.
"You'll have to do better than that!"
At this time, Asad felt that the Fleshrender Zombie didn't have any more mystical abilities to get out of binding spells. He believed that It could only rely on its strength for some time…
'Right… There's no way it could repeatedly use powerful abilities.' Asad thought as he decided to start using one of his aces.
Soon, the mystical engravings on the Black Grimoire glowed, and dark energy poured out of it.
In just a few moments, the fallen Skeleton Warriors began to rise, their shattered bones reformed swiftly and they rejoined the fray. The Death Knights, Mummy Kings, and the Lich also started recovering from any form of injuries! Enjoy exclusive chapters from My Virtual Library Empire
Lastly, there seemed to be a huge shadow that blanketed his army of undead before fusing to their bodies!
With this form of blessing, Asad's undead became indestructible for at least 60 seconds! In short, none of them would get damaged or destroyed in that duration!
"Go! Kill that Zombie for me!"
