Chapter 510: The Reputation Store
Shane leaned back in his chair and checked out the items in the store. There weren't a lot of things he'd enjoy but one of them was certainly looking for hidden gems in the store.
Then, as he was about to check the most important store, his A.I. Assistant, Cloud, suddenly warned him.
[ A Vampire has been detected. ]
Information about the Vampire followed and Shane's gaze was then directed toward the area indicated by Cloud.
Activating his Heightened Awareness and Perception, he quickly pinpointed the Vampire. It lingered roughly 30 meters away and it was hidden really well but thanks to Cloud's high-end sensors, it was able to detect the Vampire as soon as it started moving.
Perhaps, if it actually transformed into a bat instead of a humanoid one, Cloud would fail to consider it as a Vampire.
Anyway, the Vampire was certainly hesitant to get closer.
The bunker they had fortified was impenetrable for most enemies. The barrier generator was protecting their whole place, Zombie Repellent Candles released their fumes, and the Zombie Ward that Lysandra had placed was working perfectly.
The Vampire knew very well that it could only silently watch them from behind the shadows of the trees about 30 meters away from them.
After some consideration, Shane decided not to act.
"It's probably a scout," Shane muttered, narrowing his eyes. "If it's here, the Leader might not be far behind. Let's wait for him to come."
Of course, he was referring to Statham, the Vampire's Rise Apocalypse Ender. If possible, he wanted to eliminate Statham already. After all, he had just obtained numerous skills and knew how powerful he was at this moment.
On the other hand, Statham shouldn't have strong Vampires at his disposal. He might still be strong, considering how he was able to clear another Apocalypse. He even became a Vampire, which should have been the race that he eliminated. Statham must have a lot of secrets to be able to arrive in this place.
'He should be recuperating… Most likely, he wasn't able to access all of his skills after arriving here. But as soon as he's able to do it, it would be a disaster for other Survivors.' Shane thought for a moment as he wished that he'd get attacked first, so he could deal with this Vampire.
Cloud's warning popped out once again after a few moments.
[ Would you like to engage? ]
Shane shook his head. "No. If we take it out now, the Leader will just send another or he might even run away. Let's see what happens. Just monitor it for me."
[ Understood. ]
With that said, he turned his focus back to the glowing interface of his Reputation Store.
Shane smiled as soon as he saw the items being sold. To be honest, it was hard for him to predict what kind of things he would get here.
There were a lot of times that they were just random objects that could hardly be useful, but there are times when they would be extremely important.
Luckily, today was a lucky day for him.
[ Compatible Skill Fusion Talisman: A powerful talisman that allows the user to combine two or three compatible skills into a single advanced skill.
Price: 150 Reputation Points
Quantity: 5 ]
This was a very expensive item. However, Shane had never seen a Skill Fusion Talisman being sold in the Reputation Store before. It had always been an item that could only be found in Treasure Chests or rewards through various missions.
'It's also a bit different. It's not just a Skill Fusion Talisman… It only works with Compatible ones.' Shane muttered as he realized that this must be a lower version of the Fusion Talisman.
Previously, Shane could just use any skill to fuse, even the incompatible one.
There's also a small chance of failing but it was possible.
At the very least, this Talisman was available in the store. There was no need to search for a Treasure Chest.
With his thousands of Reputation Points, he wasn't worried about a hundred fifty points at all.
As he purchased them, he couldn't help but smile as he recalled the times when he was struggling to buy items worth 10 to 20 Reputation Points.
There was even a time when he had to hesitate a lot when he purchased a 20 RP Tattoo that could give him skill.
This time, however, he was no longer worried if he found an item worth a thousand RP as long as it would help him.
[ Mysterious Lord Zombie Ashes: A pouch of ashes. A rare ingredient for an unknown Elixir.
Price: 30 Reputation Points
Quantity: 5 ]
"Ahhhh…" Shane was stunned as soon as he saw the next item.
Shane immediately opened his Blood Alchemy Book!
After flipping through its pages, he found the recipe he was looking for.
[ Concentrated Vitality Restoration Elixir: This potent elixir rejuvenates the body and soul.
Ingredients:
2 liters of Hunter Zombie Blood
100 grams of Mysterious Lord Zombie Ashes
drops of Old Vines Essence
1 vial of Vitality Elixir10 drops of Blue Frog's mucus
5 crushed Zombie Cores
Instructions:
Preparation: …
Shane then continued to read through the preparation process, combining the key ingredients, infusion of the vital energy, binding the essence, amplifying potency, stabilization phase, and cooling phase.
A total of seven stages in the whole process of potion-making.
'It's doable… Shane muttered as he already felt confident when making potions. After all, his complete integration with his past memories made him recall how good he was at potion-making.
Although it was a bit different from Elven Potions, he was still very familiar with it.
"I'll look into it later…" Shane muttered as he had no energy to start making potion at this moment. He might consider it once he was able to establish his third Shelter.
Anyway, Shane continued to check the other items.
[ Fast Walker Boots: A pair of lightweight boots enchanted with unknown energy. Grants the wearer the ability to move faster. It increases movement speed by 30%.
Price: 10 Reputation Points
Quantity: 2 ]
This was, of course, an item that could not be upgraded with Item Upgrade Crystal so he wasn't too interested. However, since it was cheap, he could use this as a gift to his recruits.
The next item, however, was something Shane really liked.
[ Blueprint: Gaia's Defense ( Advanced Barrier Generator ): A blueprint for crafting an advanced barrier generator. Requires advanced materials to construct.
Price: 50 Reputation Points
Quantity: 1 ]
Perhaps, if he didn't have the Anima Store, he would not be willing to purchase this since as it said, it required advanced materials to construct.
However, with the Anima Store on his side, he was confident to obtain these advanced materials and they might not even be considered as advanced materials if the Anima Store searched it up.
"Not bad… I hope I get more of these blueprints…" Shane muttered to himself. This was something he needed to develop his shelters.
After all, Cloud doesn't have blueprints for such things. It was more focused on assisting him in combat and daily life instead of building things.
"Gaia's defense, huh…"
It sounds really cool, but Shane didn't want to expect too much as he didn't want to get disappointed.
[ Cold Veritas Brew: A mystical elixir that permanently increases Spirit Point Regeneration by 10%.
Price: 1,000 Reputation Points
Quantity: 1 ]
"Whoa… Is it my birthday? Why are there so many good things appearing now? Did it detect that I have a lot of money to spend?" Shane couldn't help but chuckle after seeing the next item.
It was an elixir with a Permanent Effect!
A 10% rate must be smaller but Shane knew that with his current regeneration rate for his over 10,000 Spirit Points, that would be huge!
Shane didn't hesitate to purchase it at all. He knew how great it would be if he could simply spam his Skills without worrying about his Spirit Points.
If that was possible, he would be confident enough to fight even 10 Lord Tier Zombies at once. Read the latest on My Virtual Library Empire
Shane consumed the brew immediately and felt satisfied with its coldness. It also tasted quite good.
'I thought it would be bitter or very hard to swallow.' Shane thought. He even considered that the potion may bring some side effects like pain or something that he had to endure.
However, the whole process was so simple, and in just a moment after consuming it, the system notified him about the successful improvement in his Spirit Regeneration.
It was anticlimactic but he didn't mind.
Shane then checked the last item.
[ True Prisoner's Band: A device used to restrain and control unruly individuals. The prisoner can't leave the owner's side. The range can be adjusted by the owner's will.
Price: 10 RP
Quantity: 30 ]
"Ohhh…" Shane may not have a prisoner right now but the future might be different. As for the others, they probably wouldn't bother to buy these things since it would be better to just kill those they didn't trust since they would have fewer mouths to feed as well.
"It might be useful someday…" Shane muttered as he decided to purchase all of them.
