Chapter 228: 221 Interstellar Cloud Overview
The Eden Galaxy was by no means the only discovery made by the Star Alliance while exploring the Danlu Interstellar Cloud. Within the thirty light-year span of the entire cloud, there were dozens of stellar systems. Some stars were brown dwarfs or white dwarfs that hardly emitted any energy anymore, and they did not form planetary systems. However, some of the stellar systems were similar to the Solar System, with various kinds of planets and rich in materials.
Three weeks after the discovery of the Eden Galaxy, the Insight found a habitable planet similar to Earth in the binary star system of Cygnus 61, and primitive primate intelligent life was discovered on this planet. The planet, named Lieque Star, was named for its intense lightning phenomena which the local primitives worshipped.
The Scientific Research Institute of the Star Alliance subsequently issued a report stating that the Danlu Interstellar Cloud was certainly closely linked to the Elder Race. All intelligent beings discovered in this region were Primate Clan, and it was highly likely that all of the Primate Clan in this region had been placed there by the Elder Race to grow and breed on their own.
The habitable planets in the Cygnus 61 system were similar in size to Mars, with a relatively hot and dry climate, but the water resources were not particularly scarce. The human inhabitants lived along the rivers, subsisting on very primitive agriculture. Interestingly, no particularly effective nation-states had formed here, and instead, people lived and produced in family-based patterns, with women holding a comparatively high social status, indicative of a matriarchal society.
The level of native civilization on Lieque Star was slightly higher than that of the tribal people on the Southern Continent of the Emerald Sea Star; they had learned to farm and settle, no longer nomadic gatherers.
The population here was quite small; roughly surveyed, the total land area of Lieque Star was larger than that of Earth (with a smaller ocean area), meaning there was a considerable amount of land suitable for habitation, yet the population was only in the hundreds of thousands, quite obviously due to the extremely backward productive forces.
Lieque Star had not insignificant developmental potential. Although slightly dry, it had the advantage of large land area and good genetic conditions for crops, plus the planet itself was rich in minerals. The Star Alliance believed, after investigation, that its development prospects were even greater than those of the Emerald Sea Star.
But even the seven planets of the Eden Galaxy, which had conditions better than Earth's, were not currently being developed for lack of resources, to say nothing of Lieque Star. Lieque Star was relatively far from the entrance to the Danlu Interstellar Cloud at the Sirius Galaxy and was unlikely to be affected during the war. Therefore, aside from initial contact, no further actions were taken.
More and more of the Danlu Interstellar Cloud was scouted and made clear by the reconnaissance fleets of the Star Alliance. While there might still be various unknowns and secrets within the cloud, the main details were now understood by the Star Alliance.
Among all the star systems, excluding those without planets and those with energy output too low, such as brown dwarfs and white dwarfs, Bai Zhongqi had already listed some star systems that the Star Alliance was preparing to develop.
The Centauri Alpha Galaxy, Tianyuan Four Star System, Lutan 726-8 Star System, Cygnus 61 Star System, Indian Seat Epsilon Star System, Tiancang Five Star System, and the Eden Galaxy were all similar to the Solar System. These seven systems possessed strong stellar components, numerous planets and diverse planetary compositions, and relatively abundant resources, making them the most valuable star systems for development within the Danlu Interstellar Cloud.
A habitable planet was discovered in the Tianyuan Four Star System, but the differences from Earth were relatively significant, and it would be uninhabitable without genetic enhancement alterations. Although the remaining star systems did not have habitable planets, they could become useful with some modifications. However, a system like Lutan 726-8 was unsuitable for human habitation. Located within the Cetus constellation, the stellar system's sun was a flare star, and the sudden outbursts posed a threat to human life and many technological devices.
Other planetary systems mostly comprised inhospitable frozen, desert, or lava-covered planets unsuitable for human habitation. While humans could establish settlements there, they lacked the appeal of habitable planets.
Yet Bai Zhongqi still valued these star systems highly. With complete planetary systems and stable and intense hydrogen fusion reactions in their stars, the Star Alliance could construct complete interstellar bases within these systems. Bai Zhongqi planned not only to place military forces on these interstellar bases but also unmanned productive power.
These star systems were sufficient for nearby extraction of various materials and energy from within the systems, which would then be transformed into part of the massive and battle-capable forces of the Star Alliance. Multiple shipyards and orbiting factory clusters producing other weapons and equipment would be established in each system. His mining ships and engineering vessels would automatically undertake developments within the systems, supplying materials and energy to these facilities.
Following the construction of shipyards on Earth, the Emerald Sea Star, and Mars by Bai Zhongqi, new shipyards were also to be built in Earth's Saturn orbit, with Tianyuan Four and the Eden Galaxy prioritized for shipyard construction. Only with an increase in the number of shipyards, could Bai Zhongqi truly establish a large and formidable fleet.
Currently, he was essentially in a position of having more ships than personnel. Some of the smaller warships could be completed within a month, but even with a solid naval foundation, enlistees undergoing intensive education in suspended animation would need at least three months to pass the Star Alliance's assessments and serve as apprentice Universe Army soldiers on the warships.

After all, even if some countries were truly mobilizing nationwide, it would take time for ordinary people to assimilate information and decide to enlist.
Time was silently slipping by, and Bai Zhongqi felt increasingly anxious. While everything was moving in the right direction and the Star Alliance was gaining recognition, the prospect of the first encounter with a powerful opponent in the Galaxy left Bai Zhongqi with little confidence.
He knew that to resolve this issue, he had to reach out beyond the Danlu Interstellar Cloud, take a look in the Galaxy where real civilizations collided and gather as much intelligence about the Teizene civilization as possible. With some luck, he might even find allies united by a common enemy.
