Chapter 227: 220 Eden Galaxy
Bai Zhongqi was faced with all the reconnaissance equipment capturing images from seven planets and various real-time detection data.
"This is impossible," Bai Zhongqi, who felt he had seen many wonders of the universe, especially amidst the study of the miraculous cosmic phenomena and civilizations encountered during the development history of Iridium Star, considered himself quite experienced. While he might not be an expert in cosmology, he could certainly say he was well-informed.
Yet, the discovery of this new galaxy by the Richelieu interstellar escort ship contained too many "coincidences" that neither the people of Iridium Star nor those from Earth would dare to imagine.
Xu Lanzhou was also shocked and said, "Seven planets at optimal distances from their star, with very close proximity to each other that even includes a subtle gravitational balance system. Each planet nearly similar in mass and volume, with gravity so astonishingly uniform that it's precise to the hundredth decimal point. The atmospheric composition is also incredibly similar, categorized as slightly oxygen-rich, and the surface vegetation is lush. Some of the planets have vast land areas, even exceeding half the planet's surface area, but they have an exquisitely delicate atmospheric circulation system, not lacking in moisture."
Bai Zhongqi suddenly stood up from his chair, his face alight with fervor, and said, "Seven uniquely gifted planets, each potentially with an even larger usable surface area than Earth, and perhaps richer resources. If these seven planets could be properly developed, they could form the cornerstone of a powerful universe civilization."
Xu Lanzhou naturally realized their immense value and said, "Yes, Your Majesty, from certain perspectives, the potential and future value of these seven habitable planets may be even greater than that of Earth."
Bai Zhongqi nodded, but still had more doubts in his mind. The Iridium Star Chancellor did not believe for a moment that such a galaxy, with seven planets possessing highly similar characteristics, and absorbing energy from their star in a very balanced and efficient manner, could have formed naturally. What was even more frightening was that these seven planets had identical rotation periods and, although they orbited at different trajectories, they shared nearly identical revolution periods.
Using the relationship between mass and the dilation of time, as well as the delicate interactions within the celestial system, the time on these seven planets could almost be synchronized with some simple adjustments.
All seven planets had no moons, thus no tidal phenomena occurred; the natural happenings on the entire planet were simple and stable, unaffected by the dual influences of the sun or moon phases.
Aside from these seven habitable planets, the entire galaxy only had a huge asteroid belt in its outer region, more spectacular than the asteroid belt of the Solar System, but none of the asteroids here were larger than Ceres.
"The chance for such a planetary system to form naturally in the universe is lower than the probability of winning the lottery and then hitting the jackpot ten more times in a row. It's absolutely impossible for this to be a naturally formed celestial system; it must have been carefully designed and constructed by someone, with a clear intention, to be suitable for the living conditions of a certain species," Bai Zhongqi could almost assert.
Xu Lanzhou could not help feel a bit terrified. The beautiful female Commander of the Universe Army was always full of courage, but facing such a galaxy, she too felt some unease.
"Even for us, the people of Iridium Star, to build such a planetary system is nearly an impossible task. To modify a system to suit the living conditions of a particular species, could this be the work of the Elder Race?"
Bai Zhongqi said, "That, we do not know. But if we are lucky, we should be able to find some clues on these planets."
Xu Lanzhou nodded and said, "Then I will immediately dispatch additional reconnaissance forces to thoroughly explore the entire galaxy. However, Your Majesty, shall we undertake colonial activities in this system afterward?"
Bai Zhongqi was somewhat troubled by this and said, "If there are no problems, the future main direction of Star Alliance's colonization will be here. However, we are facing a large-scale war, and currently, the only significant planet we need to defend is Earth. If we relocate a large portion of our population and facilities to this galaxy, we would be forced to divide our forces to defend it. At the same time, large-scale colonization efforts could also affect our energy and resources for war preparations."
Xu Lanzhou added, "But if war breaks out, this place is not too far from the Sirius Galaxy. If Teizene's fleet reaches here, even establishing a foothold, it would be a loss for us."
Bai Zhongqi knew it was like a tempting pie placed on the plate in front of him. He might refrain from eating it, but it would be quite upsetting if someone else came along and poked it with a fork.
"We must create a defensive line in this galaxy, even if we don't actually build an Administrative Star here. We will not allow the Teizene to run wild. This defense line may not need to have fleets, but we will set up a considerable number of artillery turrets and many airborne platforms with position adjustment capabilities and unmanned weapons manufacturing platforms."
This was also where the people of Iridium Star were fearsome. Bai Zhongqi could set up a multitude of lethal weapons in orbit around a planet entirely without human assistance, not only high-powered Gauss Orbital Cannons or Particle Beam Cannons but also airborne defense platforms capable of carrying tens of thousands of unmanned fighter jets or platforms for manufacturing unmanned weapons.
These facilities were completely controlled by Supreme Command, and, in the event that the defense line tragically collapsed and the enemy attempted to approach and acquire vital Iridium Star technology, self-destruct mechanisms could be activated. It would prevent the enemy from obtaining any precious Iridium Star technology while also dealing a final blow to the enemy.
For the newly discovered galaxy, Bai Zhongqi held it in high esteem. Such an important system would naturally not be given a casual alphanumeric code by the Star Alliance. As discoverers, the entire crew of the Richelieu voted on a name for the galaxy—Eden Galaxy.
A new Eden for humankind, nurturing life and the future. And the seven habitable planets would receive specific names during the preliminary development phase. Bai Zhongqi placed great importance on these seven planets, and the naming would not be rushed but would consider various aspects. Even the countries of Earth were very curious about the naming of these seven planets upon learning this news.
Bai Zhongqi also believed that announcing the discovery of the Eden Galaxy to the general public on Earth at this time would greatly boost morale, at least strengthening their resolve to defend the Danlu Interstellar Cloud. The more precious something in hand, the more it needed to be protected.
