Eternal Cultivation: The rise to a Silent Peak

Chapter 6: Changing the Future

I don't know how long it's been but I slept well. I looked around confused after seeing I was still on my bed. I started rubbing my eyes and getting up, I was clearly alone but Father was still here asleep so that could only mean Mother went out to get things with the money I had given her. It seems she was spending carefully. I got up and saw Lady Zenos standing on the door, she was clearly waiting for me so I walked over to her as she opened her eyes looking at me.

"What do you usually do when you wake up?"

{"I don't really know, most of the time I stayed inside my home and left to get food, I'm not used to what happens outside."}

She looked at me with a sigh, pointing outwards I followed as she left the home but also closed the door to make sure no one tried to just walk in and steal something. I walked through the streets while following Lady Zenos, The sound of people talking with each other, the laughter of children, Everything was foreign to me, I never went out when there were many people nearby due to how recognizable I was. Though since my body changed after cultivating I looked vastly different, though if someone took a closer look at me they would be able to find out it was actually me.

"There's a tournament going on right now, wanna come and see it?"

{"I heard that Tournaments happen once every five years so why not."}

I followed the Lady too what seemed to be a Arena, along with that there was some sort of line to sign up for the Tournament, seeing as the Arena was split into four parts there would be four fights and then time to rest for the person who won and lost.

Getting distracted I went to the line waiting for about ten minutes while Lady Zenos was looking around only to see me in line, because of this she would sigh and lean against a wall of a building, I didn't have any techniques yet though I felt a little confident since I was able to defeat trained assassins, albeit they were weaker than me by a little so they wouldn't be able to handle a punch of mine at full force.

"Alright, Name, Cultivation level and Age? You can't be above the Qi Gathering Realm."

Taking out a paper I wrote my name, though writing was really hard I had to still do so, I just wished they made it easier to understand instead of making it symbols. Once I finished I gave him the paper which had my name, or a fake one at least, a Cultivation realm and my real age which was at 18.

The person over the desk looked at the paper then at me, sighing he allowed me through I was at Qi Gathing V so I doubt I'd be let in due to being closer to reaching the next realm and probably reaching it before the end of the tournament but since the chance of winning was a lot lower due to the people at a higher stage than me. Though I probably couldn't beat them since they have more experience I'd still fight for it.

Going into a separate room I sat down near the front, a smile on my face as I felt excited to go on my first one. Suddenly I got a notification.

[Storyline Completed]

[Main Story beginning]

[Participate in the tournament and win]

[Rewards ???]

[Would you like to hide your identity?]

I would've nodded my head as it told me if I wanted my identity hidden, sure I could've kept my looks the same along with my name, but still some people would still recognize either being Qing or someone who always bullied me.

As soon as I nodded my body froze, the place around me turned into a dark sphere as the hair on my head changed color into a somewhat red color, Soon enough a mirror formed in front of me as my eyes changed color into a hazel look, My facial features more androgynous, As soon as it finished and changed my clothes as well shifting what I originally was wearing into new foreign looking ones, they seemed out of this world, not literally but something softer and better to wear, As soon as it was done I noticed the mirror gone with the sphere no longer around me, but it seemed no one saw me change my body shape.

"The Next fight is with Guo Jingsheng and Feng Yuchun!"

The alias or fake name I made was Guo Jingsheng. Getting up I walked through the entrance onto the Arena as my opponent walked up. Looking at them I sighed, it was a man, he was popular in this place known to be undefeatable to those at his cultivation level, one which was the same as me. But that didn't deter me, I was still going to fight even without an advantage, for in life if you don't take risks, you wouldn't grow in the slightest, to stay comfortable you have to be where you always are at.

"BEGIN!"

His body moved swiftly through the Arena, but my body was finally able to keep up with someone with cultivation, It seems resting was a really good thing for me. I turned towards him my hand grabbing his punch right at my face as I spun around throwing him into the ground at full force, but before he could land the momentum had led me to go towards his direction as I jumped up in the air now landing past him as I kicked him up into the air.

"AGH!"

I didn't get distracted by his reaction and instead I spun around after kicking him while he was flying to where I threw him. Just then I spun around once more while waiting for his body to turn just in time slamming my leg full force into his solar plexus while infusing Qi into my legs which sent him flying into the crowd which caught him, but he had lost since he was sent out of the Arena.

I looked at myself seeing that I already won a battle against someone like him. Though even then just because someone was unbeatable didn't mean they had fought everyone in the world to be known as unbeatable, it was just whoever he faced.

I went back into the waiting area as I continued waiting while also watching the others fight, from those stronger and older, to those weaker and even less experienced than me in fighting. I thought only kids or people younger than me could be like that but I guess I was wrong.

After a few minutes a girl walked up to me with a smile. I looked over and chuckled a little, It was my friend, or well an old friend of mine, she loved tournaments but I expected her to show up later. It looked like the future had changed from my actions, but I didn't think something like this would happened, I didn't mind it, I signed at her as she looked at me with surprise taking a little bit to examine my face and looks.

"S-Shan-"

Putting a finger over her mouth she looked confused before realizing why I was doing it, she would've bowed down to apologize though I'd only rub through her hair, to me now she was like a child, even back then she wasn't the smartest and I had to guide her in things I found extremely easy. She sat down next to me with her talking about her adventures outside of the Kingdom, I acted like I knew nothing and listened with a smile.

"The Winner is Yan Rong!"

"The Next participants are Guo Jingsheng vs Ying Zhenhua!"

I got up and so did she, I chuckled as she looked at me with an annoyed stare though she understood why I did it. But before we went through the corridor she had left a kiss on my cheek. I would've looked extremely confused and stunned for a few seconds... She had never done that before, I could see some signs of thinking of myself more as friends but I always overthought it...

By the time I shook my head she was already there I would've ran through the corridor with a sigh as I noticed a notification before the fight began.

[Technique Unlocked]

[All Cutting Slash, A technique using Qi which enhances the ability to cut using either your hand or a weapon. While it runs on qi it also absorbs qi which it hits to strengthen itself. The harder you hit another person's attack the more Qi it will absorb weakening the technique or person. This also allows you to create slashes out of thin air only visible to those who can view Qi.]
