Within a spacious apartment, Mika materialized with a flash of light.
"A new world—" He looked around at the familiar furnishings, instantly recognizing the era: modern society.
"So this is the apartment that comes with my new identity?" he mused.
As he was about to explore his new surroundings, a message from the starry expanse within his mind appeared:
'Second-year student at Kuoh Academy, Mika.'
"My new identity—Kuoh Academy? Why does that sound so familiar?" He focused on the incoming information, and familiar names surfaced:
'Issei Hyoudou, Rias Gremory, Akeno Himejima, Yuuto Kiba, Koneko Toujou—'
"No way—High School DxD?!"
"I knew I'd be entering a world with gods, but I didn't expect it to be one of the top-tier universes right off the bat." As he absorbed more information, he confirmed his location.
He was in the world of High School DxD, the "most exciting ecchi anime." However, what had captivated him wasn't the fan service, but the battles. [Boosted Gear] and [Divine Dividing]—those were truly awesome!
While many of the plot details were now hazy, he still remembered those two [Sacred Gears].
Even his fondness for armor stemmed from this series and—Saint Seiya.
He calmed himself and began to consider his next move. This world was dangerous. While he was among the few Level 6 adventurers in Orario, in this world, he was likely only at the level of a High-class—in terms of his [Falna] level, that is.
In terms of combat power, he was comparable to an Ultimate-class, and with [Calamity Annihilation], he could even fight a Dragon King.
But that was his limit. He remembered the power levels in—High School DxD varied greatly, ranging from Lower-class to Middle-class, High-class, and Ultimate-class, then Satans, and beyond—
However, this was just the Devil's hierarchy. Adding Angels, Fallen Angels, and Dragons into the mix, the power scale extended further.
Above Ultimate-class and below Satans were the Dragon Kings, equivalent to Seraphs and Fallen Angel Cadres.
And even above—them were Super Devils, God-class beings, Heavenly Dragons, Dragon Gods, and Super Dragon Gods (Great Red).
...
Facing such a complex power structure, Mika knew he had to be cautious.
"It seems I'll need to be more involved in the plot this time." In the 'Akame ga Kill!' world, he had been powerful enough to ignore the original storyline, acting as he pleased.
But in this world, he couldn't afford such recklessness. There were simply too many powerful beings. He could easily end up dead without even knowing why.
"I'm glad I didn't bring Airmid and Mellie." He lay back down on his bed, trying to recall the plot of 'High School DxD'. A thought suddenly struck him, and he sat up abruptly.
"I remember the most powerful God in this world, the God of the Bible, is dead. Could I use Gabriel to take over her system?" The idea intrigued him.
Who was the God of the Bible?
The most powerful God. he created the system that governed the world, created Angels and Devils (indirectly creating Fallen Angels), sealed away numerous beings that threatened humanity, created Sacred Gears to empower humans, and even slew the Trihexa, sealing its remains.
Although weakened by that battle, he still fought against the Four Great Satans and the 72 Pillars, even managing to seal two Heavenly Dragons, transforming them into Sacred Gears. And before death, he had taken most of his enemies.
The system he left behind was undoubtedly a valuable asset. Moreover, if Gabriel, as a fragment of a goddess, could somehow become the new God of the Bible, Mika's power would increase exponentially.
Of course, Gabriel likely couldn't achieve such a feat.
But Yahweh—she might have a chance. While both were versions of Yahweh, his goddess was far weaker than the—DxD Biblical God.
After all, the gods of Danmachi were more concerned with amusement than power. Although there had been wars in Heaven, none were significantly stronger than the others. Any differences were in their methods, not their levels.
"It's a good idea, but not feasible right now. My priority is to infiltrate the Three Biblical Factions."
...
In this world, there were various pantheons. The Devils, Fallen Angels, and Angels currently locked in an endless conflict had all been created by the God of the Bible. They were collectively known as the Three Biblical Factions.
Although they had been fighting for eons, Mika knew they were all weary of the conflict and would soon sign a peace treaty. After all, their strength had waned considerably, and other pantheons were watching, waiting for an opportunity to strike.
"My current objective is to conceal my unique abilities, infiltrate the Three Biblical Factions, and wait for the right moment to seize control."
Unlike Fallen Angels, who couldn't reproduce, Devils had developed a method for transforming humans into Devils: Evil Pieces.
However, while becoming a Devil would enhance his strength, Mika didn't want to become one. This was his dilemma.
...
Although he had nothing against Devils, he valued his humanity.
"Gabriel, I need your help." He summoned her.
"Oh, we've arrived? Where are we?" she asked, looking around curiously, eager to explore this new world.
But Mika had other matters in mind.
"Gabriel, I have a task for you." He explained the situation, and his desire to infiltrate the Devil faction without actually becoming a Devil.
"So, you want me to create a method for you to—undo the transformation?"
"Exactly!" He was impressed by her quick understanding.
"Theoretically, it's possible," she said, nodding. "I can create a barrier between you and the Evil Piece, then use your [Nen] to link to the barrier and channel the Evil Piece's power. That way, you can gain its benefits without undergoing the transformation. And when you want to revert, simply remove the piece."
"Will that really work?" Mika asked, his eyes lighting up with hope.
"While it sounds simple, the actual implementation is quite complex. But I can do it. I doubt anyone else in this world has the necessary skills," she declared proudly.
"After all, it requires a combination of magic and [Nen]. And in this world, only the two of us understand [Nen]."
"I see—" Mika nodded, then continued praising her. "That's still incredibly impressive. The other gods wouldn't even bother helping." He reached out to ruffle her hair.
"Don't mess with my hair!" she protested, dodging his hand.
"Hahaha!" He laughed at her indignant expression.
Just then, his alarm clock rang.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
He looked at the time and slapped his forehead. "It's time for school!" He began changing into his Kuoh Academy uniform.
"Gabriel, I've told you about the dangers of this world. It's best if you stay here. For now, focus on developing that technique. I'll need it soon."
"Fine, fine," she replied with a dismissive wave, her usual response when he assigned her tedious tasks. But she had never failed to deliver.
"Thank you, Gabriel."
...
Following the directions in his mind, Mika walked through the streets of Kuoh Town, heading towards Kuoh Academy.
It was a prestigious school with many international students. And since it had recently transitioned from an all-girls school, it was filled with beautiful young women.
"I believe I'm in the same class as Issei Hyoudou, the protagonist," he mused. He had recognized this world because of the famous students at Kuoh Academy.
Rias Gremory and Akeno Himejima were both well-known third-year students. Yuuto Kiba was famous among the second years, and Koneko Toujou was a first-year celebrity.
As for why he had Issei Hyoudou's information, it was because they were classmates. He wasn't surprised by this arrangement. After all, he always seemed to end up near the protagonist in every new world.
"Being in the same class as Issei—that should make my plan easier." He smiled, anticipation building.
He soon reached the school gates, surrounded by students in the same uniform. Before leaving his apartment, he had used [Transparent World] to suppress his presence. He was practically invisible to his classmates, like a background character.
He walked among them, unnoticed, and entered the school grounds, marveling at the sprawling campus and its luxurious facilities.
"So this is a prestigious academy—" The schools in his previous life couldn't compare.
After a pleasant stroll through the campus, he reached his classroom and sat down at his designated desk, observing his surroundings. He overheard a conversation.
"****"
"******"
"******" He looked up and saw Issei Hyoudou and his friends, Matsuda and Motohama, engaged in a rather—explicit conversation. The girls around them glared at them with disdain.
Mika was speechless. Were such topics appropriate for public discussion? His memories of High School DxD were hazy, but he still remembered the general plot and character personalities.
Issei's nickname, the "Breast Dragon," spoke volumes about his character. While Mika knew he was lecherous, he hadn't anticipated such blatant and unashamed behavior.
"My plan to befriend the protagonist by striking up a conversation in class—is on hold," he thought to himself.
"I'll have to find another approach."
