But it was a mother's death they were talking about—an unending vendetta.

Hu Liena's brows furrowed tightly.

She felt deeply torn. If Xiao Wu and Bibi Dong were to clash to the death in the future, whose side would she choose?

If she sided with Bibi Dong, wouldn't that be an act of ingratitude toward Xiao Wu, who had saved her life and even agreed to share her husband?

"From now on, call me 'husband,'" Mu Chen interrupted.

"Hus… Husband." Hu Liena's cheeks flushed as she stammered. "Back then, my Spirit Hall army failed against Sea God Island not only because of the Sea God's unparalleled Limit Douluo but also because the surrounding pirates, who worship the Sea God, united against us. Their interference caused significant trouble, and with dwindling supplies, the army was forced to retreat in defeat."

"It wasn't because of Qian Daoliu?" Mu Chen asked.

"How do you know about that?" Hu Liena stared at Mu Chen in shock.

"What is it?" Xiao Wu asked curiously.

"Qian Daoliu, the Grand Elder of the Spirit Hall and a Limit Douluo known as the Sky's Invincible, once pursued the Sea God Island's High Priest, Bo Saixi. However, she turned him down," Mu Chen explained.

"Husband, don't speak ill of the Grand Elder. The High Priest once said she would marry whoever became a god first," Hu Liena reminded.

Mu Chen chuckled but didn't argue. Having read the story, he knew Bo Saixi's challenge was simply a polite rejection of Qian Daoliu's advances.

"Pirates may pillage and plunder, but they're devout followers of the Sea God. Threatening them with their lives might not be enough to make them guide us to Sea God Island," Hu Liena said.

"We'll see when the time comes. The bridge will straighten itself out as the ship advances," Mu Chen said nonchalantly, channeling his soul power. The Sea Demon, under his control, accelerated toward the island ahead.

"This is bad!"

As the ship approached the island, Hu Liena's expression darkened. "This is Purple Pearl Island!"
