The ape was dead, a formiddable foe for the duo had finally been defeated. Chen coughed out a mouthful of blood as the last attack had weaken him. "Looks like.i'm the only one hurt, a broken arm accompanied by internal damages in his system. He thought. At that time, Damian surprisingly coughed out a mouthful of blood. " That last attack took a lot out of me". Damian said out aloud. "Thank goodness we brought recoverey potions". He added dipping his hands into his bag, he brought out a small bottle and gavi it to Chen who drank it all. " Thanks". Chen showed his gratitude. "No worries, i brought two". Damian reassured. " The portal is closing". They both said in unison. "We really defeated the portal boss even though this is a basic dungeon. Our first step in the race for power". Chen said. " Now, lets check out what the portal boss dropped". Damian said excitedly. The spot where the ape had been killed was empty and the only things occupying the space were two essence energy crystals, hides and skins and one skill crystal. "Whoa, such harvest, these hides can be used to mke good leather armour for the both of us and these essence crystals are rich in mana". Damian screamed in excitement. " The skill crystal's practically useless to me cause all my skills are higher than it". Chen said. "Same here". Damian said plainly. The duo picked up their harvest from their earlier kills into their bag. " We'll sell some right". Damian suggested. " I don't need it". Chen said bluntly. "Huh, what do you mean?". Damian asked with a confused face. " These essence energy crstals could bring you straight to the warrior realm or at the pinnacle of the basic realm". Damian explained."Still don't need it". Chen said. "Why?". Damian asked. Chen let out a sigh before speaking." Essence crstals add little or nothing to my cultivation, i level up the more i fight through the experience i gather from each fight". Chen explained."I know it's wierd but...." His speech was cut off. "Whoa, that's cool, i wish i were the one. Anyways, more crystals to me". Damian said plainly not a bit perplexed by Chen's speech. They got to the front of the cave and the cave began to collapse. " The portal's closing". Chen said. The guards watching over the dungeon bore looks of surprise on their faces as two youths were able to close down a portal all by themselves even when they had low realms. "I thought that was supposed to be a hunting ground for the newbies". A guard asked his fellow guard. " Yh, although it's a low ranking dungeon, these kids are impressive". His colleage replied. "Let's go look for other dungeons that might be a threat". Their boss walked out of his small guard house. " This job was getting boring anyways, we were reduced from explorers to mere guards". The boss added and in the next instant all the guards ran off. "Such speed". The duo who juat came out from the dungeon said in unison. The guards covered several metres in mere minutes and that was an impressive feat to the duo.
