Chapter 8: Prologue 2.
Before the appearance of the Heroes who had not yet met their respective titles, many events took place. These events, among others, created the chaotic foundation upon which the Three Great Heroes emerged in 2020.
The Abandonment of Certain Classes:
As the System reshaped combat dynamics, certain traditional classes, like the Archer, were deemed inefficient. The rise of magic-based and melee-centric abilities led to the decline of ranged combatants, forcing many to either adapt or be left behind.
The Appearance of Devil Worshippers:
With the System's introduction, some sought power beyond its limits, turning to forbidden forces. These cults formed in secret, making pacts with unknown entities in exchange for strength, often at the cost of their humanity.
The Rise of Mana Disease:
As mana became a crucial part of existence, its overuse and improper control led to a mysterious affliction. Victims experienced mana instability, leading to physical deterioration, madness, or even spontaneous combustion. It spread unpredictably, creating fear and paranoia in settlements. The most well-known effect of this was MANA CRYSTALLIZATION, which trapped victims in their own crystallized mana, rendering them unable to do anything and putting them in a sleeping state.

The Abandonment of the Archer Class
Two years after the appearance of the System in 2009, humanity began to fight back against the monsters with greater proficiency. The System allowed individuals to improve their physical abilities by defeating monsters, even as simple as giant rats. This growth gave people the strength to fight back, and the concept of CLASSES emerged, granting additional abilities depending on what they received.
- Swordsman Class: Improved slashing force, allowing users to take down enemies faster.
- Axe Class: Enhanced destructive power, enabling users to handle multiple enemies at once.
- Healer Class: Provided buffs and healing, supporting the frontline and aiding the unawakened.
- Mage Class: Offered large-range attacks, capable of finishing, stopping, buffing, and handling many enemies simultaneously.
Then there was the Archer class. In a time of calamity, where resources were scarce and survival was a daily struggle, the Archer class was seen as a waste. Unlike other classes that required minimal resources to function, the Archer class demanded far too much.
Warrior Class Needed only a simple rod that could act as a sword.
Support and Mage Classes: Required only chants to activate their skills.
Archer Class Needed a bow, arrows, and significant physical strength to be effective.
In a world where people were starving, living in constant fear, and lacking even the most basic resources, the Archer class was impractical. Even if someone managed to gather all the necessary equipment, the class still fell short. Arrows were limited, making it difficult to sustain long-term battles. Even when an Archer managed to hit an enemy, their attack power was often too low to deal significant damage. Collecting used arrows after a fight only added to the burden, wasting time and effort that could have been spent on survival.
Most importantly, the amount of resources required to maintain an Archer was staggering. In a world where every scrap of material was precious, the Archer class became synonymous with inefficiency. It was no wonder that, over time, the Archer class was abandoned, labeled as one of the worst classes in the world.
A young man named Eli, who awakened as an Archer in 2010, struggled to contribute to his group despite his determination. His arrows were often lost or broken, and his attacks barely scratched the tougher monsters. However, his group managed to clear an F-rank dungeon called Eye of Death.
Inside the dungeon, they only needed to clear four floors in total to destroy the dungeon core, which allowed the dungeon to create endless amounts of monsters that would eventually leave and destroy the surface area.
At that time, when the surface was full of danger, dungeons acted as safe places for people after clearing them. Not only did the dungeons reward people with resources, but they also provided multiple floors of area for everything they needed.
Dungeons at that time were still a mystery of their own, with multiple dungeons having the same name appearing in various areas around the world. The F-rank dungeon called Eye of Death was one of the repeated dungeons, limited to only five people to clear.
It was said it took them five days in total to clear all four floors of the dungeon, and after clearing it. As a reward for clearing the dungeon, Eli received an upgrade class ticket a rare item that allowed him to transform his Archer class into the Marksman class. This discovery would change the world's perception of ranged combatants forever."

The Marksman Class
After the appearance of the Calamity, guns and any firearms became useless in the long run, being only useful against small monsters like giant rats, goblins, large bugs, and many other small monsters that appeared. Monster that has a higher defense was one of the reasons for this, firearms with a specific firepower couldn't penetrate their strong body and with the noise it produce it only lead more enemy to their location
On the day of the Calamity, the military forces were the first to be destroyed for multiple reasons, such as giant sinkholes that swallowed entire military areas, endless asteroid strikes that left nothing behind, or the sudden appearance of multiple S-rank dungeons in resting areas. It was said that the US military area had more than ten S-rank dungeons appear, rendering the military useless at the time. Even if guns were useful against monsters due to their specific power, they were only meant as a last resort or to take one's own life.
Eli, whose class changed after using the ticket, returned to level one but this time had the Marksman class instead of the Archer class. His team seeing this change have decided to take the risk and get a gun for him to use even if it meant risking their life or having all their resources to be trade just to have one.
As Eli's level rose, he realized something about this class: he seemed to increase the firepower of the gun itself as his level grew. The more level he gain the more he understands the changed and even learn new skills related to firearms. By the time he reached level 40, he had long surpassed his former limits as an archer, where he had only managed to reach level 15. His gun far outclassed a bow in both range and firepower, capable of effortlessly taking down monsters below level 20. Along the way, he had acquired several powerful skills:
Charge Bullet – Enhances his bullets, increasing their power significantly.
Multi-Shot – Fires five bullets at once, overwhelming his enemies.
Target Lock – Ensures a perfect hit, guaranteeing his shots never miss.
This news spread around the world that an Australian player with the Archer class had changed classes and gained the Marksman class, which allowed them to use firearms against monsters and gain firearm-type skills that helped them take on stronger monsters. By the time a year had passed since the news broke out, many Archers around the world had changed their class to Marksman by clearing the repeated dungeon Eli's group had cleared.
All kinds of variations of the Marksman class appeared.
Some gained the ability to use multiple guns without a problem at the same time without a problem
Those who gained the trait Magic Circuits were able to use their mana instead of magazines, allowing them to continue killing monster without having to found or trade magazine in order to continue hunting monster. Having mana as bullets they have managed to kill non-physical monsters without the help of mages
Some who had Holy power were able to create bullets called *Holy Bullets*, making them capable of killing the undead monster and even deal healing from a far just by shooting their fallen comrade and some with strong holy power mange to kill even demons with minimal problems.
There are even those who have a element attributes were able to imbued to theirs bullet creating a variety of effects. Those with fire can create a range type's bullet's, Earth can changed the terrain where the bullet hits, lightning can stun monster.
The most notable of them all was a Korean player who had two class slots gained a secondary class called Puppeteer. By spending more than a month killing monster in the military bases where the dungeon take place he alone managed to retake their military area. Using his 2nd class skill he created puppet's using the vehicle in the military and controll all the machinery and firearms, gaining an entire military force on his own.
