Chapter 2: Chapter 02 – Awakening 02

Yeah, Akira's eyes didn't deceive him. His eyes locked on his smartphone.

Seeing her profile, Akira understood why the original Akira had been so captivated by her. Chizuru wasn't just physically beautiful; there was something about her presence and the way she carried herself during their rental girlfriend sessions that made her utterly irresistible.

But as Akira stared at the familiar face on his screen, the truth finally hit him. This wasn't just a random coincidence. This was her. This was the Chizuru Mizuhara from Kanojo, Okarishimasu. And if she was here, that could only mean one thing—he was living in the world of an anime he had once watched in the past.

"Hahaha, I can't believe this… This is just like—" Akira's laughter was abruptly cut off when something unexpected appeared before him.

A blue hologram materialized out of thin air and a moments later, white text appeared across the hologram:

[Congratulations! You've found Chizuru Ichinose from Kanojo, Okarishimasu. As a reward, you now possess the knowledge of the script covering five chapters of Kanojo, Okarishimasu.]

"What the…?" Akira's voice trailed off as he stared at the hologram, stunned. Before he could fully process what was happening, an odd sensation coursed through his body. It was as if something invisible had entered him, seeping into his very being. He couldn't quite describe it, but it felt like whatever had entered him was merging at the cellular level, becoming a part of him.

Then, almost effortlessly, vivid knowledge of five chapters of Kanojo, Okarishimasu flooded his mind. Every scene, every line of dialogue, every moment was clear as day, as if he had read the chapters a hundred times over.

The realization hit him like a thunderbolt. This wasn't just a strange coincidence or a dream. He had actually transmigrated into the world of an anime, complete with cheat abilities—just like the scenarios he'd often read about in fanfiction.

Therefore, Akira couldn't wait to try out the cheat ability...

"Wow, I still can't believe this," Akira said, marveling at his work as he effortlessly recreated the first page of the first chapter of Kanojo, Okarishimasu's manga. It had been years since he last read the series. After finishing the first season of the anime, he'd lost track of the manga and never picked it up again. Yet now, thanks to the vivid knowledge implanted in his mind, he had managed to redraw the first page with such precision and detail that even he was impressed.

As he moved on to the second page, Akira found himself working with an unexpected fluency. The digital drawing tools, though slightly different from what he'd used in his previous life, felt intuitive in his hands. It was as if his muscle memory had been enhanced by the original Akira's familiarity with the equipment.

Recalling the memories of the original Akira also played a significant role. Techniques, shortcuts, and habits he had never used before now came naturally, enabling him to draw manga with a level of skill that felt almost second nature. As his pen glided across the tablet, Akira couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and excitement building within him.

As someone who had loved reading manga and occasionally drawing fan art as a hobby in his past life, Akira couldn't help but smile as he worked. The fact that he could now draw manga so effortlessly filled him with a sense of accomplishment. He knew, of course, that the manga he was recreating wasn't his own creation—it was essentially plagiarism, taken from the knowledge of his past life. Yet, the joy he felt while drawing panel after panel, character after character, was undeniable.

He finished an entire page in record time, much faster than he had ever managed to complete a piece of fan art before. It was a surreal experience. The manga he was drawing belonged to a world where the author likely didn't exist—after all, it would be strange for the creator of Kanojo, Okarishimasu to coexist in the world of their own characters.

Even so, Akira couldn't bring himself to feel guilty. Drawing this manga felt like a dream come true. His technique, honed by the original Akira's skills and memories, was leagues ahead of what he had been capable of in his previous life. Every line, every detail came naturally to him, and the quality of his work surpassed anything he'd ever done before. For Akira, this wasn't just plagiarism—it was an opportunity to live the life he had always dreamed of.

Honestly, Akira had always dreamed of being able to draw manga at this level. However, there was a significant challenge if he wanted to pursue this seriously in the future. The biggest issue was that Kanojo, Okarishimasu—or Rent-a-Girlfriend—was an ongoing series, already stretching over 350 chapters. Taking on such a massive project was a huge commitment. Sure, he could decide to end the story sooner, but could he do it justice? He wasn't sure. For now, though, he didn't have many other options.

Akira didn't have any other manga to draw, and he was still unsure about the full extent of his cheat abilities. From what he understood, his reward was tied to discovering that Chizuru Ichinose was real in this world. That revelation had gifted him knowledge of the manga related to her—though only the first five chapters out of hundreds. Still, it was a remarkable ability.

There was also a possibility that his newfound abilities were partly due to the original Akira's background in graphic design, which had made him more familiar and adept with drawing tools so he can used this information. On top of that, Akira saw an opportunity: if the manga had been successful on Earth, there was a good chance it would succeed in this anime world, too. After all, in many of the fanfiction and transmigration stories he had read, such concepts often translated seamlessly.

"Haaa… Drawing 54 pages for a single manga chapter is exhausting. Huh…" Akira muttered, leaning back in his chair. He could feel his body growing hungry after working for nearly ten hours straight, having drawn over twenty pages. It was incredible how efficient he had become, now able to transfer the images from his mind onto the drawing tablet with ease. Each page took him just about thirty minutes to complete.

The thrill of creating was so exhilarating that Akira found himself unable to stop drawing. Yet, despite his enthusiasm and the cheat ability that felt straight out of a fanfiction story, he was still just an ordinary human bound by the limitations of his body. No matter how extraordinary his talent or drive, his new life still demanded rest, reminding him that even with an edge, he wasn't invincible.
