Chapter 205: At Most, It Won't Exceed One Minute (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2
His judgment was based on the high probability that the figure was a noble knight, raised in luxury from a young age, lacking real combat experience, and who ultimately became a formal knight with the help of his family albeit with questionable battle prowess.
Having a penchant for riding in carriages was one of the defining characteristics of a noble knight.
A knight who had actually experienced the blood and fire of battle would never ride in a carriage like some fine lady!
"Eh, where did that knight disappear to?" the lean man observing Rein remarked in surprise.
"Gone?" Iron Hook looked puzzled and followed the original line of sight to see.
Indeed, the person was gone!
Iron Hook looked around, scanning the area, but saw no one.
Suddenly, he heard screams rise from the left side of his group, followed by the sound of multiple trees breaking, and... the dense crunch of breaking bones.
Iron Hook and the lean man immediately turned to look, and their expressions resembled those who had seen a ghost.
The shining silver figure that should have been standing in front of the carriage somehow found its way to the rear of their group.
Moreover, he hadn't even drawn his weapon, purely relying on his bare hands, he had taken down most of the men.
Iron Hook was stunned and then his face turned pale as he realized the enemy's strength was far greater than he had anticipated; the enemy might not be a Peak Knight, far from the noble knight he had imagined.
He immediately began to run towards the forest on one side, while the lean man ran in another direction.
But two seconds later, a bright silver figure blocked his path.
This sent a chilling fear through Iron Hook's heart. He glanced to the side and saw the lean man twitching on the ground among the bushes, his fate unknown.
Damn it, this was a ruthless extermination!
Just as Iron Hook was gathering strength to attack, the next second, Rein's figure disappeared before his eyes.
"Bang bang crack!"
Iron Hook immediately clutched his abdomen, convulsing on the ground like a shrimp that had landed on shore and was frantically twitching.
Rein didn't choose to finish him off.
This area was already very close to Fishing Port Town.
The group's presence here was likely part of some larger, planned operation.
Moreover, he could smell on them the odor that comes from years at sea, a seasoned sea brine scent, which is almost a trademark characteristic of pirates.
Therefore, keeping two prisoners could perhaps yield the latest intelligence.
...
When Rein returned to the carriage, the two women had just stepped off less than half a minute ago.
Vinica looked around and did not see Rein's figure, she couldn't help but turn her head and ask the knight on guard beside her.
"Where is Lord Rein?"
"This...." The knight was about to say that Lord Rein might have gone to scout ahead.
Suddenly, he saw a bright silver figure appear in front, and quickly pointed, saying, "Over there."
"Huh?" Vinica and Mary turned their heads to see Rein emerging from the forest with strikingly swift movements.
After only a few strides, he arrived in front of them.
"Lord Rein, did you..." Vinica suddenly thought of a possibility, and she raised her fair finger, pointing towards the direction of the forest and asking.
"The enemies have been dealt with!" Rein nodded, confirming Vinica's guess.
Instantly, everyone was somewhat taken aback, and their gazes inevitably focused on Rein.
Rein's armor, still shining silver and seemingly untouched, bore no trace of blood, and even the two weapons he carried on his back were free of any bloodstains.
This...
Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment!
"By the way, who among you is skilled in interrogation?"
"The enemies are likely pirates, perhaps we can get some of the latest news about the pirates or even the Sea God Sect from them," Rein looked over at Mary and then to the cavalrymen beside her, inquiring.
"Pirates?" Enjoy new adventures from My Virtual Library Empire
Mary's eyes sharpened, and she turned to a young knight beside her, saying, "Flado, interrogation is your specialty, right? You should be able to pry out the information we need from their mouths, correct?"
"Of course, Major Mary, leave it to me," the young knight named Flado, although puzzled by how quickly Rein had resolved the fight, quickly took five cavalrymen into the forest.
They were astonished as soon as they entered.
They saw a large area where trees were broken, as if a hurricane had passed through, and every so often, there would be a sizable hole in the ground, the origin of which they couldn't ascertain.
Furthermore, the lying bodies of the pirates displayed no overt signs of injury, yet it was clear that most of the pirates were already dead.
The only ones alive and still groaning were a man with a missing left hand fitted with an iron hook, and a lean man.
However, as the cavalrymen were sorting out the pirate bodies, they quickly found something odd: most of the dead pirates had completely shattered breastbones, or the right side of their chest beneath their chain mail was caved in, seemingly as if their ribs had broken and pierced their hearts resulting in death.
There was only one possibility for this to happen.
It was the work of a heavy weapon, like a war hammer, landing a heavy blow.
Yet during the interrogation, they were shocked!
From the mouths of the two surviving pirate leaders, they learned that Rein had not used any weapons at all but had instead caused such destruction with just his bare fists!
