Chapter 106: Walpurgis I
Minutes later, Rimuru felt a distortion in the space around them, he then said " it's time".
As the ominous door materialized beside Rimuru, a ripple of intense magical energy emanated from it, causing the atmosphere in Tempest to momentarily thicken. A tall, imposing demon stepped out, his aura sharp and chilling. Bowing deeply, the demon addressed Rimuru with an eerily smooth voice.
Demon: "Lord Guy Crimson has sent me to escort you and Lady Ramiris to Walpurgis. Please, step through the gate."
Rimuru, unbothered but cautious, nodded. Turning slightly, he gestured for Zegion and Diablo to follow.
Rimuru (mentally to Raphael): "Raphael, suppress all signs of my ultimate skills. Hide them completely. I don't want anyone sniffing around my abilities, especially in a room full of these monsters."
Raphael: "Understood, Master. All ultimate skill activity will remain undetectable."
Arrival at Walpurgis
As the group stepped through the portal, the air shifted into something almost suffocating. The room they entered was vast, with a gothic, sinister design. Dark stone walls flickered with eerie crimson light, and jagged obsidian pillars spiraled toward a ceiling that seemed impossibly high. The circular table at the center was massive, made of black marble streaked with veins of glowing red. It was surrounded by elaborate chairs, each designed uniquely to reflect the personality of its occupant.
Rimuru (internally): "Whoever designed this was definitely trying to intimidate anyone stepping in for the first time. A bit dramatic, but I guess it fits the crowd."
The moment Rimuru entered, the room's atmosphere grew heavier. Every pair of eyes turned toward him, scanning, measuring, and evaluating. The tension was palpable.
The Demon Lords
The first thing Rimuru noticed was Guy Crimson, seated at the head of the table, his crimson eyes locked onto him. A sharp grin stretched across his face as his gaze bore into Rimuru's, exuding dominance. His fiery red hair seemed to ripple like flames, and his posture was as relaxed as it was intimidating.
Rimuru (internally): "This guy's no joke. His aura alone could crush most beings. But if he thinks he can intimidate me, he's got another thing coming."
On Guy's right sat a petite girl with striking pink hair. Her wide, mischievous grin and sparkling eyes made her look innocent, but the sheer energy radiating from her screamed danger. This was Milim Nava, her energy chaotic and untamed, yet controlled with precision.
Milim (via thought communication to Guy): "He's here! He doesn't look scared at all. He's stronger than I thought!"
Guy (smirking): "Let's see how long he keeps that composure."
On Guy's left was Draguel, a towering, muscular giant. His deep, golden eyes glowed faintly under his furrowed brow, and his sheer physical presence felt like an immovable mountain. He sat with his arms crossed, grunting in acknowledgment of Rimuru.
Draguel (muttering to himself): " Hmph. He'd better have something impressive to show for all this commotion."
Toward the other side of the table sat a golden-haired man, Leon Cromwell, whose elegant features gave him the appearance of a regal knight. His posture was perfect, but his expression was one of boredom, as though he had no interest in being there. However, his piercing eyes darted toward Rimuru occasionally, his thoughts hidden.
Behind Leon stood his trusted subordinate, Claude, who observed silently.
Seated opposite Leon was Louis, dressed as a pope. His aura was calm but deceptively menacing, and his piercing gaze never left Rimuru. Behind him stood a stunning woman in a maid outfit, Luminous, whose magicule count surpassed even Louis.
Luminous (thought communication to Louis): "This is the one who bested Hinata and destroyed three Demon Lords? He's either a fool or someone worth watching."
Taking His Seat
Rimuru maintained a neutral expression, unbothered by the intense stares. Walking calmly to the chair assigned to him, directly across from Guy Crimson, he sat down with ease. Behind him, Zegion and Diablo stood silently, their presence adding an extra layer of tension to the room. Diablo's crimson eyes gleamed with excitement as he smirked in Guy's direction.
Diablo (thought communication to Zegion): "How amusing. They're all so confident, yet they have no idea the kind of monster our lord truly is."
Zegion (calmly): "They will learn soon enough."
Guy's grin widened as Rimuru sat, his gaze never wavering. Rimuru, sensing the challenge, returned the stare, his golden eyes unwavering and calm.
Guy (mocking): "You've got guts, I'll give you that, slime. Most beings would be trembling in fear right now."
Rimuru (smiling): "Well, I'm not most beings, am I?"
The tension in the room thickened, and some of the Demon Lords chuckled quietly.
Milim (excited): "Ooh! This is going to be so fun!"
The Meeting Begins
As everyone settled into their seats, a subordinate of Guy's stepped forward to address the gathering. His voice was deep and resonant, carrying authority.
Subordinate: "This Walpurgis has been called to address the recent events that have shaken the balance of power in the world. Three Demon Lords have fallen, their armies annihilated. The one responsible is present here today—Rimuru Tempest."
The Demon Lords murmured amongst themselves, their voices a mix of curiosity and skepticism.
Draguel (gruffly internally): "This slime did all that? Impossible."
Luminous( internally): "Let's hear what he has to say first. I know im interested."
Milim (grinning): "I can't wait to see what he's made of!"
Guy raised a hand, silencing the room. His crimson eyes locked onto Rimuru's as he spoke.
Guy: "Rimuru Tempest. You've caused quite the stir. Three Demon Lords, an entire nation, and armies… gone. So tell us, what happened and your answer will dictate your fate?"
All eyes turned to Rimuru, the room silent and heavy with anticipation. Rimuru leaned back in his chair, his calm demeanor never faltering.
Rimuru (smirking): "Well, it's a long story. But let's just say… I'm full of surprises."
The room erupted into quiet murmurs once more, and the meeting had truly begun. Rimuru knew this was his moment to show the Demon Lords that he was more than just a slime—and he was ready for whatever came next.
