Welcome to Dungeon Hotel

Chapter 228

 “I see why it’s failing.”

 I muttered very quietly.

 “Kyaaaah! Please save me!”

A child’s scream could be heard. When I turned to the side just in case, it was indeed Han Woohyun.

‘As expected, you brought Han Woohyun too.’

His gaze was cold as he aimed the longsword at the boy who seemed to have brought him here.

He didn’t show the shy smile or affectionate gaze he usually showed in front of me.

He probably recognized the ‘boy’ who brought him as a monster and prepared to attack right away.

His reaction speed is really fast.

When I was thinking that, Han Woohyun suddenly met my gaze and flinched.

 “Why, why are you here…”

He quickly put his longsword back in its scabbard as if he was embarrassed.

When put into the black scabbard that was clearly made by Aunt Misoon, it shrank to the size of a cellphone.

Before answering, I pointed to the sign that said [Goblin Tavern].

“It looks like a goblin called me.”

 “H, heuk…!”

The boy, who nearly died from being stabbed by the longsword, jumped up and entered the tower. Then he hid behind the back of someone walking towards us from the entrance.

The man walking towards us had neatly combed hair and was wearing fancy clothes.

It was a face I knew.

 “Gildal.”

 “Are you here?”

Gildal bowed his head and greeted me, accompanied by two beautiful women with fair faces on either side.

He summoned me by force and now he’s acting polite.

 I was dumbfounded.

“Oh, this must be the young master… that Lord Bihyeong mentioned.”

Gildal hesitated for a moment before saying the word young master.

I knew what word he had to put in there.

 ‘Cute young master.’

I watched as the women on either side of Gildal snickered while I recalled those words.

 “He’s really handsome.”

“Oh my…Which room will the young master be staying in?”

I could see golden tail fur brushing under the hems of the two women’s skirts as they spoke.

 ‘A nine-tailed fox.’

I should tell Han Woohyun to be careful.

 “?”

Looking back, Han Woohyun looked like he couldn’t understand what was being said between us.

 ‘Oh, right.’

It’s possible to talk to monsters thanks to my skills.

Our staff, including the manager, can only communicate with monsters at <It’s Here> location or affiliated hotels.

When I informed Gildal that Han Woohyun couldn’t understand the ghosts’ language, Gildal quietly looked into Han Woohyun’s eyes and said,

 “Communicate.”

It was a single character that meant to communicate.

“From now on, you will be able to understand everyone’s words clearly and speak comfortably with anyone here.”

So this is how goblins use their magic, something like that.

“Handsome young master! Can you hear me now?”

“You will stay in my room tonight. I have warmed up the room.”

At that moment, as if Gildal’s magic was a signal, the two fox gumihos rushed towards Han Woohyun.

Their eyes were bloodshot as they were about to devour his young and fresh liver.

 I secretly clenched my fists.

Then, in order to protect Han Woohyun’s liver, I pulled him towards me.

“This guest will stay in my room, so don’t worry about him.”

I deliberately acted as if we were close friends, placing my hands casually on his shoulder while speaking.

Well, if we do this, they’ll probably think we’re really close and back off.

That’s what I thought, but the pretty nine-tailed fox sisters exceeded my expectations.

“Huh? Then the three of us can stay together!”

“Kyaa— I want to go to that room too— two handsome young masters!”

 N, no!

Feeling my face flush and grow warm, I stepped back to escape the grasp of the fox spirits, who were exuding an air of annoyance.

Then I hid behind Han Woohyun and spoke urgently to Gildal.

“Goblin King! Where is that…Bihyeong? Tell him I came to keep my promise!”

At the mention of where Bihyeong was, the two fox spirits, who had been causing a commotion, quieted down, and Gildal’s expression turned slightly troubled.

Only then did I stick my face over Han Woohyun’s shoulder.

 “Why?”

 “Ah… well… Lord Bihyeong is currently… um… away on a trip.”

Gildal answered, not looking at my eyes and secretly looking away.

The gumihos also politely retreated behind Gildal.

 Something is strange.

I sensed something strange and approached Gildal.

“What is it? Just tell me. Where is Bihyeong?”

I put one hand in my goblin pouch and said.

If he didn’t give a proper answer, I was thinking of pulling out the goblin’s club and hanging Gildal at the top of the tower.

Gildal, sensing he could no longer avoid the situation, grimaced and answered.

“Ha… I understand. I will take you to where Lord Bihyeong is, for now.”

 * * *

“So this guy is Gildal? He’s the same goblin as the Bihyeong I saw back then?”

While following Gildal into the tower, Han Woohyun began to roughly understand the situation.

I gave Han Woohyun all the information he needed, as far as I knew.

Although Gildal said that Han Woohyun was invited because Bihyeong had made some sort of ‘promise’ with him, the fact remained that Han Woohyun was brought here because of me.

“I’m sorry. For dragging you into this kind of trouble because of me.”

I also feel sorry for keeping you stuck at Dungeon International because of me.

 “…And for causing you worry.”

“You don’t need to feel sorry. I did it because I wanted to. I actually hoped you’d find me annoying.”

Han Woohyun answered simply. There was no pretense in his eyes.

 As always, he is sincere.

He takes responsibility for the choices he makes. Nothing more, nothing less.

Han Woohyun’s personality was the factor that made him decide to break up with me so firmly, but that is also his charm and strength.

He worries intensely, but he makes decisions directly.

I looked up at Han Woohyun’s side profile for a moment.

Sometimes he looks like a shy boy, and sometimes he looks like an adult much older than me.

And whenever I see that face, I am reminded of the scenes I once glimpsed through memory communication.

Han Woohyun, who was quietly looking at my face in an empty room at the police station.

His scared eyes, as if he had found his own future in that face.

Are you still wandering through that self-loathing?

As that question lingered on my tongue, Han Woohyun suddenly looked down at me. He cleared his throat with a “ahem” and covered his mouth with his hand.

“W, why are you looking at me like that…”

 Why are you blushing?

I turned my head and said.

“As you can see, it’s safe here, so you can go back first—”

I was going to say it’s okay.

 Crash!

“Call out the owner of this place! That owner did some sort of bet or whatever and took over our field, and now our young nephew is on the verge of dying!”

Before he could even finish looking around the first floor of the tower, a man appeared in front of what was presumed to be the ‘desk’, banging his front door as if he was frustrated and causing a ruckus.

As soon as Gildal saw the man, he sighed deeply as if he was tired.

“Mr. Kim, calm down a bit and come over here…”

Just before the man could collapse, a pale-faced man with a chilling voice grabbed him.

 ‘I know who he is.’

 That’s an evil ghost.

I know him well because I saw him in the Goblin Forest.

However, the one called Mr. Kim shook off the man’s grasp and said,

“Shut up! Why am I Mr. Kim? I’m Mr. Hwang! If you don’t call the owner out immediately, I’ll lie down in front of this tavern and block all the incoming guests!”

The customers of the tavern, which only had two tables occupied, began to quietly retreat at the man’s loud voice.

Unable to stand by and watch the scene any longer, Gildal stepped forward.

 “I’m sorry, Mr. Hwang.”

Gildal quietly approached the man and whispered something to him. As a result, the man’s body went limp.

The two evil ghosts lifted the limp man’s body and carried him up the stairs in a familiar manner.

What… are you doing?

Seeing the customers around me gossiping, I grabbed Gildal with a bewildered face and asked.

 “Did you kill the customer?”

“H, how could that be possible? I just let him sleep for a while.”

I watched the eerie figures of the evil ghost carrying the man upstairs, then glanced at the guests who were now getting up from their seats, saying, “Let’s go!”

Those are definitely the evil ghosts who ate Mr. Kim!

“And what did that guest just say? Did Bihyeong make another bet? With the guest?”

 “He always does…”

Gildal answered with a sad face.

 Oh, really. I’m going crazy.

No wonder this hotel—or rather, this tavern—is going under.

I shook my head and said.

“Where’s Bihyeong? Tell him to come out right now. Is he off drinking somewhere again?”

In response to my question, Gildal quietly walked off somewhere. He headed toward what seemed to be the tavern’s “desk,” a wooden counter.

Gildal took down a long painting hanging on the wall behind the stand.

“That’s the scroll painting that sealed Lucifer in the banquet hall.”

 Han Woohyun muttered behind me.

 Sealing Lucifer?

I didn’t know what he meant, so I tried to ask Han Woohyun properly.

But then Gildal handed me the scroll painting and pointed to the center of the painting.

In the painting, there was a gorgeous and grand tile-roofed house in the background, a huge pond in the center, and a beautiful pavilion floating on the pond.

And inside, a pretty boy was drinking alcohol out of nowhere, and there was a man wearing a mask who was pouring the boy a drink while giggling.

Gildal pointed to that man and said.

 “Here.”

 “What’s here?”

 I tilted my head.

 “He’s here. Bihyeong.”

 Huh?

 Huuuuh?

Just as I was blinking in surprise, a message window appeared as if it was a notification.

Former Hotel Owner I think it would be better to get out of there. Helping out with that hotel business is hellishly difficult. Maybe then.

Shouldn’t I have used the master key to escape to the hotel right away after hearing that?

Wasn’t the momentary delay in judgment what made things worse?

I regretted it exactly one minute later, when this window popped up.

Final Stage 2. —Start the quest ‘The Tavern Was a Hotel Too’. —Let’s raise the reputation of the Goblin Tavern to 100 and showcase the hotel manager’s abilities.  —Time limit: 15 days —No staff dispatch. No movement to Yeongchun Hotel for 15 days. Current reputation of the Goblin Inn: -100 Damn it.

Demon King  Hmm~ Finally finished the balance patch~ Crash!

At that moment, a commotion was heard from the entrance.

“You filthy goblin tavern, get out! Get out!”

Two women wearing white hanbok shouted slogans and threw their fists into the air.

Then, the two gumihos behind Gildal quickly hid behind me.

“Why are you doing this to us?”

“That’s right. They’ll take good care of Mr. Hwang.”

“We were hungry because we didn’t eat properly!”

I bit my lip as I listened to the gumihos grumbling.

A window like this popped up along with the pungent taste of blood.

Current reputation of the goblin tavern: -150 Yeah. The balance patch is really good.
