Chapter 5: f
Chapter 5 [Energy Missile]
"It's really rare that there is such a water source here..."
Ronan soaked his feet and sighed with satisfaction.
"Remember the location, you can pass here every time you run next time."
He usually goes to the lake to get water, filling two large water tanks at a time, which can last for three to five days.
"Rustle!"
Suddenly there was a noise in my ears.
Ronan quickly turned his head and saw a bush swaying slightly.
Maybe it was a small animal that was frightened and ran away.
Ronan didn't care.
But after thinking about it, I felt a little uneasy, so I dried my feet, put on my shoes, and walked slowly towards the swaying bushes.
Pushing aside a few low bushes covered with red berries and walking forward about ten meters, Ronan saw a small dark green tree house.
"Inhabited?!"
Ronan was startled and quickly stopped, then slowly retreated along the same path.
It is common to run into other wizards in the tree house area. Ronan had avoided it whenever he saw signs of human habitation on the road before. He didn't expect that there were people living here in such a remote area.
"I can't come next time..I need to modify the route a little bit."
Ronan made his decision and left in a hurry.
I was sweating profusely and took a short rest after returning to my residence. It was not yet nine o'clock in the morning.
Ronan's work continues.
"Meditation is the only way for me to improve my strength at this stage. The book says that if I meditate after using up my mental energy, the effect will be much better."
Ronan sat under the oak tree in his home, munching on wild fruits picked from the woods while studying the meditation book in his hand.
The meditation book mentions that the human soul is like a container, and spiritual power is the water in this container.
Drain the water in the container first, and then refill it. The volume of the container will increase significantly.
The key is
how to quickly consume your mental energy.
"All wizard activities require mental strength.
The more common ones are alchemy, enchantment, forging, and rune engraving.
The one that consumes the most energy is naturally spellcasting."
Ronan put down the meditation book in his hand and picked up another wizard book with a black leather cover - "Zero-Level Spell Collection".
This book was also obtained by the predecessor from Hoddam College.
Although it is called a complete collection, it actually only records the release methods of five zero-level spells.
They are: [Fireball], [Ice Ball], [Energy Missile], [Charge Weapon], [Detection]
Ronan looked at the introduction of five zero-level spells and perked up.
His biggest problem now is that his fighting ability is weak. Oh no, to be more precise, he has no fighting ability at all.
Learning a combat spell is urgently needed at this stage.
Ronan read the introduction of the five spells carefully, and after weighing the pros and cons, he finally chose the spell [Energy Missile] as his main learning goal at present.
He has a non-attribute affinity physique, so [Fireball] and [Ice Ball] which obviously have energy attribute tendencies are naturally not his first choice.
[Charged Weapon] needs to be used in conjunction with a weapon, and [Detection] is an auxiliary spell, so the long-range spell [Energy Missile] with no attribute requirements became his most suitable choice.
The release principle of [Energy Missile] is very simple, that is, through spells and gestures, let the mental power and the free energy particles in nature resonate with each other.
But it is not easy to implement in practice.
"Woolu..Babazi."
Ronan stumbled over a not-so-long spell. Each syllable of the spell needed to be matched with a corresponding gesture. Ronan was so focused on chanting the spell that he ignored the gestures; he got the gestures right but forgot to chant the spell.
After practicing for several hours, Ronan was exhausted, sweating and his mouth was dry, but he still failed to successfully release the [Energy Missile].
"Nima, this is too difficult!"
Ronan stared at the thick spell book, doubting whether he had practiced something wrong or had not yet mastered the real trick.
In fact, in this situation, it is best to find someone to guide you.
Hoddam College provides such services.
As long as you choose to sign up for the [Energy Missile] spell class, an experienced old wizard will naturally break down and explain the casting techniques of this spell to you in detail, so that you can avoid a lot of detours.
But Ronan has no money.
Ten low-level magic stones would simply cost him his life.
"I'd better practice on my own..."
Ronan sighed and continued to practice hard.
I didn't even have time to eat lunch. I just meditated for a while when I was tired of practicing.
We practiced until the sun was setting, around 4pm,
"Woolu Baba Zier Damu!"
A series of strange and difficult-to-pronounce syllables came out of Ronan's mouth accurately, and his ten plump white fingers quickly changed into various gestures in coordination with the landing points of the syllables, without any error.
The moment the spells and gestures were all completed successfully, Ronan intuitively heard a buzzing sound in his ears.
Immediately afterwards, a large amount of the lively and transparent mental power in his brain was immediately drained away.
The next second, a piece of air in front of him began to distort, and a colorful ball of light the size of a ping-pong ball appeared out of thin air. With a slight thought, it shot out with a "whoosh".
It landed on an unfortunate oak tree ahead, and with a bang a large cloud of sawdust exploded on the trunk.
"It's done?!"
Ronan was a little slow to react to the sudden success.
After a few seconds, a huge sense of joy and accomplishment enveloped him like a tide.
"It's done!"
Ronan rushed forward excitedly and looked at where the [Energy Missile] would land.
A deep, flaky dent remained on the oak tree, which was as thick as a person.
"This is more powerful than a shotgun!"
Ronan looked at it again and again, marveling at it. When he looked away, he couldn't help feeling complicated.
wizard!
At this moment, he can be considered a real wizard.
Possessing extraordinary powers that are unattainable by mortals.
Gradually, I felt more confident.
"call--"
After exhaling a breath, Ronan's heart unexpectedly became very calm.
Rather than dwell on his success, he continued to practice.
With Ronan's current mental strength as a first-level wizard apprentice, it was almost exhausted after releasing two [Energy Missiles].
The time required to release two [Energy Missiles] is just over two minutes.
The purpose of quickly consuming mental energy was also successfully achieved, and everything seemed to be slowly getting on track.
After a quick dinner, fireflies started to appear in the forest, and Ronan was still practicing his magic.
Somehow, ever since the first successful release of the [Energy Missile], subsequent practice has gone exceptionally smoothly.
Ronan chanted the spell faster and faster, and his gestures became smoother and smoother.
He almost never failed in casting spells, except for one time when he was not completed due to mental fatigue and severe fluctuations in his mental strength.
Late at night, Ronan dragged his tired body into the tree house. As soon as he entered the door, he lay down on the small bed and opened his character panel.
