Chapter 4: Chapter 0003– Plan To Purchase The Gaming Pod

Aurelia gazed at Xylen in pure bewilderment for a moment.
Eventually, she shook her head helplessly and approached him.
Without hesitation, she crouched beside him, and then not uttering a word, began to remove his clothes.
Everything was done with such a familiarity that comes from years of experience, and seeing this, the first emotion that enveloped Xylen was a wave of nostalgia.
How long had he missed this feeling? How many times had he dreamt about it? How many nights was he startled awake by this scene and began to sob?
Recalling this, a single tear slid down Xylen's cheek before he realized it.
" This…" Aurelia, noticing this tear slowly lifted her gaze, staring at Xylen as if entranced.
"Brother, why don't you tell me what's truly wrong with you? Could you perhaps be missing Aunty again?" she asked earnestly, her expression so sincere that Xylen felt his heart fluttered.
He stared at her for a moment and then sighed emotionally.
"Nothing," he replied. "I'm just overly thrilled," he added.
"Huh?" Aurelia blinked at Xylen, unsure of how to respond.
Eventually, she shook her head again after failing to understand her
brother and resumed unbuttoning his shirt.
Then, without hesitation, she undressed him entirely and began to meticulously clean his body with a fresh towel, showing not the slightest trace of the disgust that used to flash in Eris's eyes back then.
Xylen continued staring at Aurelia as she carefully did her things, his heart incredibly tender. Then;
"You said today is the 23rd of May?" Xylen inquired suddenly, catching Aurelia off guard.
"That's right, brother," she answered earnestly. "Is there something you wish to do?"
'Is there something I wish to do?'
Xylen wondered silently when, suddenly, a memory surfaced, and within moments, he recalled the significance of this particular day in the past.
"Isn't today the day Rex Corp launches the sale of their gaming pod?" he asked abruptly before he could stop himself, his eyes brightening all of a sudden.
"Huh?
Aurelia froze, taking a moment to process Xylen's words. Then she looked at him in a daze.
"How do you… know?" she asked, leaving Xylen startled.
"Didn't you tell…" He began but quickly stopped himself before he could finish.
He had almost told her he had gotten the information from her.
However, thinking carefully, Aurelia hadn't even given him this information this time in his past life.
With this, Xylen's mouth remained open, but no explanation came out.
If someone was said to be living under a rock, they were literally referring to Xylen.
To be fair, Xylen had been born into privilege, but after his mother's passing and his father's cold indifference, he and Aurelia had been relegated to the underground garage beneath their mansion, where he hadn't seen sunlight since.
Since then, he had relied solely on Aurelia for every piece of information, and since she hadn't given him the particular one he had just revealed, there was no need to wonder about the reason behind her question because it was nothing but reasonable.
"Er…" Xylen's mind raced, and finally, he blurted out, "Is it really today?" He acted stunned, then forced out a laugh before Aurelia could respond.
"I was actually only guessing," he added, trying to hide his awkwardness.
Aurelia, however, remained unconvinced, her innocent, striking eyes fixed on Xavier before she shook her head once more.
"You're really behaving oddly today," she murmured, almost to herself, before returning to her task and saying,
"Except for the servants, the young masters and mistresses had left before dawn to secure their own gaming pods."
"Is that so?"
Xylen's eyes sparkled with recognition; it was the same as it had been at this moment in his past life. However, back then, he had been complete.
….
'Fallen Realm Online,' Xylen mused after a moment of silence, his heart racing.
Like the rest of the world, he had also been astounded by Rex Corp's cutting-edge technology, creating a game where users could immerse their souls and experience a virtual reality indistinguishable from the real world during his announcement.
However, like many others, he had initially believed the game was purely recreational and had refrained from purchasing it, thinking it was nothing but a waste of money for someone like him—almost to his later regret.
Recalling all this, Xylen forced himself to return to his senses and then focus his gaze on Aurelia.
"Let's go buy ours, too," he declared suddenly, his voice calm but firm.
Yet Aurelia acted as though she hadn't heard him.
She continued her work, pausing only briefly before raising her head to peer hesitantly at Xylen.
"Did you say something?" she asked, and Xylen nodded.
"I said we should also register and purchase one each for ourselves."
"Huh…" Aurelia's jaw practically hit the floor.
She had thought her ears were deceiving her just now, but…
"Brother," she called out cautiously, and then Xylen acknowledged her, she carefully asked, "Could your body, perhaps, have been possessed?"
"Huh?" Xylen was taken aback, then chuckled nervously. "Why would you think that?"
"Do you remember the price of the gaming pod I told you about last week?" she questioned, then, without waiting for his answer, continued,
"Two hundred thousand dollars. The equivalent of a middle-class home in the city. Moreover, if I recall correctly, you had shown a lack of interest when I had excitedly shared this game's news with you last week. What changed now?"
Her tone was firm. But Xylen wasn't offended by her suspicion, instead, smiled.
He had always admired Aurelia's sharp intellect and had always been aware that she would have undoubtedly become one of those top prodigies of the country if she had been born into a more wealthy, prominent family.
He didn't respond away, instead, he stared intently at her in the eyes for a moment before finally;
"Trust me."
His words were simple and spoken calmly. However, the moment Aurelia heard, she froze in her tracks.
To her, Xylen was a highly intelligent young man, shaped into this by fate from the pure envy of his brilliance.
He rarely made decisions, but when he did, they often left her in awe.
"But…" she hesitated, finally gritting her teeth. "Where will we find the money for the gaming pods?" she asked, and Xylen, having anticipated this, grinned.
"Have you forgotten the savings my mother set aside for me before her trip? I'll unfreeze the account. It should cover the cost of two pods and a few extra necessities."
