On the first day of the apocalypse, Novak had already reached the campus of De M-anila University. Since that moment, he'd noticed something odd.

From Ocean Villa District, down G-1 Road, and all the way to the street beside De M-anila University, there were surprisingly few zombies. It was strange, especially considering how zombie outbreaks had flooded most areas with hordes of the undead.

Now, standing on top of a high-rise, Novak looked down at the long street, where a massive tide of zombies surged. The street was packed with the undead, forming a chilling sight—a sea of corpses stretching as far as the eye could see. Tens of thousands at least, possibly more.

Given that De M-anila was a city of millions, it wasn't surprising. But what puzzled Novak was why the zombies were moving in such an organized manner, heading toward the Ocean Blue Villa Area, despite there being no visible prey or evolutionists nearby.

His eyes narrowed, suspicion creeping into his mind. He had his theories, but there was no rush to act on them. His immediate concern was what had happened in the Ocean Blue Villa Area during his absence.

Meimei, perched by his side, was visibly unsettled. The dense mass of zombies lining the streets made her skin crawl, a stark reminder of the terrifying reality of the apocalypse. Though zombies were often seen as weak, the sheer volume of them, especially in a corpse wave, posed an overwhelming threat in the early days of the doomsday.

Novak exhaled slowly, recalling Meimei to his side and softly instructing, "Get ready."

Before she could respond, he leaped off the building.

In the sprawling urban jungle, Novak moved like a predator, swift and agile. Despite his power, he knew better than to engage the horde directly. Speed was his advantage, and he used it to cross the highway with lightning precision, his black-and-red figure flashing by like a blur.

Soon, the Ocean Blue Villa Area came into view, but it had changed drastically in the few days he'd been away.

A massive wall of flesh had been erected, encircling the entire Ocean Blue Mountain. Aside from the entrance along the mountain road, the rest of the area was completely sealed off. Evolutionists stood atop the wall, forming a human chain as they nervously scanned the horizon. Their faces were tense with anticipation.

Novak's arrival left them stunned. As his figure effortlessly leaped over the enormous barricade, shock turned to excitement.

"Who is that?" someone shouted, and the answer spread like wildfire among the ranks.

"It's Lord White Emperor! He's returned!"

"That's the strongest evolver in De M-anila! No, the strongest in the entire Faeloria Country… in all of Kepler!"

"Did White Emperor come back because he knows what's happening?"

Whispers and murmurs echoed beneath Novak's feet as he crossed over the wall, paying no mind to the growing fervor.

Meimei's eyes gleamed with excitement as she took in the sight of the fortified stronghold. After spending so much time isolated in the midst of the apocalypse, seeing other humans—evolutionists like herself—offered a rare sense of relief and hope.

Novak's agile form moved swiftly through the villa area, landing in the massive courtyard of the estate. As soon as his feet touched the ground, a voice called out, "Who goes there?"

The tension eased the moment they recognized him. "Boss Novak!" they greeted him with respect.

Novak didn't respond, nor did he pay attention to Meimei's admiring gaze. He led her into the villa without a word.

Once inside, he was greeted by an unexpected sight. Three figures were gathered in the living room. One of them was Daphne, who stood with her back to him, accompanied by Nicole.

But it was the third person that made Novak stop in his tracks, his body instinctively tensing. It was someone he hadn't expected to see—the notorious god of trade, Zogwort.

"What's he doing here?" Novak thought, his eyes narrowing in disbelief. It was fortunate he hadn't revealed any of his trump cards yet.

Zogwort waved cheerfully. "Ah, my dear friend! It's a pleasure to see you again!"

Daphne quickly turned around, her violet eyes lighting up with surprise. "You're back?! Why didn't you say anything?"

Her excitement was evident, though it quickly shifted to suspicion when she noticed Meimei standing beside him. A moment of jealousy flashed in her eyes before recognition set in.

She recognised Meimei, the mysterious girl, also labeled with the prefix '001' from the Red Star Mental Hospital.

With a sly smile, Daphne's demeanor softened.

Ignoring her, Novak focused on Zogwort. "Your Excellency Zogwort, what brings you here?"

Zogwort chuckled. "I still have some matters to handle here and decided to take a stroll. I didn't expect to find a gathering place for evolutionists springing up so quickly. I just had to see who could pull this off!

And I didnt expected it's you, my friend. And don't you agree that Ms. Song's abilities perfectly match an investor's requirements? So…"

Novak glanced at Daphne, inwardly impressed. 'This woman's quite something. Meeting Zogwort might've been a coincidence, but gaining his approval? That's no small feat.'

"And what are you planning to invest in, Your Excellency?" Novak asked, his tone cautious.

Without hesitation, Zogwort answered, while Daphne pulled out a golden artifact from her side, ready to reveal their plans.
