__________

Her face was ashen, and her heart was filled with resentment and despair.

The boss is generous, the boss is awesome!!!

The police acted with unprecedented speed this time.

It was so swift that Mrs. Gao didn't have time to call for help.

The rescue helicopter she had contacted had just taken off when the special police burst into the room.

This was clearly a highly trained special forces unit—far superior to the NYPD officers who were known more for exploiting situations than solving them.

Who had she angered to deserve the attention of such elite forces?

Jason stepped out from behind his shield, removing his helmet and mask, "Stan, guard the door. Make sure no one gets in."

"Understood, boss. Just be careful."

Stan left swiftly, shutting the door behind him.

In that moment, only two living people remained in the spacious office.

Mrs. Gao's lips trembled as she opened her mouth, her face a mix of shock and confusion, "Jay... Jason, are you an undercover cop?"

In her panic, she asked a question that seemed almost comical.

Jason couldn't help but laugh, "Have you ever heard of an undercover agent who's been undercover for more than ten years and has hundreds of lives on his hands?"

Mrs. Gao pondered that and realized he had a point.

If someone like Jason could be a police officer, then the state of America was far worse than she imagined.

"What is going on?! I thought you had betrayed me by giving the factory address to the police, but now you're working with them? He even called you 'boss'! Jason, what the hell is going on? Who are you?"

Mrs. Gao's questions tumbled out in rapid succession, her desperation palpable.

Jason moved forward slowly, drawing his gun and pointing it at her as if to create an air of mystery, "You know, secrets make a man seem more... intriguing."

Mrs. Gao's eyes narrowed. She wasn't pleased with that response and glared at him, her face stern.

After a moment, she sighed, her posture stiffening as she seemed to come to terms with something, "Forget it. If this is your secret, I won't press. Jason, let's make a deal. You clearly have some power in the police force, and I want to know what you want."

Jason's smile was enigmatic, noncommittal.

"Let me go, and I'll give you $100 million. You're clearly in need of money, and this would be enough for you to enjoy life in any country without a second thought."

Jason's gaze flicked to the safe nearby.

Mrs. Gao followed his line of sight and smiled even more brightly.

So he's greedy for money. That's good. Greed has its uses, but I doubt he's greedy enough for anything else.

Mrs. Gao stepped forward and opened the safe, revealing neatly stacked bundles of cash.

"This safe holds $1.9 million. If you agree to my terms, this will be your deposit. After you get me out of here, I'll transfer the rest."

Jason didn't reply immediately. He walked around the room, inspecting it, and finally spoke up, "Less than $2 million? This is all the cash you can store in such a large office?"

Mrs. Gao's face faltered slightly, "Jason, it's the 21st century. Cash is outdated. This is just a fraction of my wealth. I have hundreds of anonymous Swiss bank accounts where most of my money is held."

"The bank..." Jason's expression shifted to one of disappointment as he sighed.

Mrs. Gao frowned in confusion, "What's the difference between cash and deposits? Aren't they both money?"

Jason shook his head, "No. There's a big difference."

Bang!

Before she could react, Jason fired, the bullet spinning through the air and piercing Mrs. Gao's head.

The New York 'Drug Queen' fell to the ground, her eyes wide open in surprise, her expression frozen in shock.

[Ding! Killed Madam Gao (plot character), gained 500 villain points. Current progress: 2915/5000]

Jason walked forward and converted the cash in the safe into points.

[Ding! Points recharge successful. Remaining points: 193]

He replaced his helmet and mask and left the office.

Stan was waiting at the door and approached him, "Did you deal with Mrs. Gao?"

Jason nodded, a slight smile on his lips.

Just then, the whir of propellers grew louder overhead. The Marines had arrived.

With coordinated efforts, the two elite forces swept in and overwhelmed the gangsters, who were already at a disadvantage. Within moments, most of the thugs were dead or injured.

The survivors, stunned and demoralized, dropped their weapons and surrendered, lying on the ground with their hands over their heads.

The battle, which had lasted less than thirty minutes, was over.

Stan left the cleanup to his subordinates and drove Jason back to his apartment in a police car.

It was late at night.

Franklin was sprawled on the sofa, flipping through channels with a distracted expression. His mind was elsewhere, lost in thought.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

"Who's there?"

He reached for his pistol, his voice edged with tension.

"It's me."

Hearing Jason's voice, Franklin's anxiety melted away.

He opened the door and noticed that Jason's SWAT uniform was clean, without a hint of blood.

Didn't the boss go to take down Madam Gao's drug operation? How could there be no sign of a struggle?

Franklin poured Jason a glass of water and voiced his concern, "How did it go?"

Jason recounted the events of the night.

"The whole thing was over in half an hour!"

Franklin's eyes widened in shock at the thought of the SWAT team's combat prowess.

He grew serious, pondering what he would do if he ever encountered a special forces unit with such skill.

"By the way, where's Stanfield?" Franklin asked.

Jason pointed at the TV. "The DEA made quite an impact. The top media outlets are here for interviews. He had to rush back."

Franklin nodded in understanding.

[Ding! [Revenge of the Villain] Mission completed. Reward: 2000 villain points. Current progress: 4915/5000]

Jason lay on his bed, staring at the 193 points displayed on the screen.

[Firearms Mastery] Level 7 required 300 points, and he was only halfway there.

Jason debated whether to save the points or invest them in other skills.

Against ordinary humans, level 6 firearms proficiency was already more than enough. But if he faced opponents with special abilities, even a mastery level of 10 wouldn't be decisive.

After much thought, he decided to invest in something more versatile.

The old saying 'don't put all your eggs in one basket' resonated with him. As a wanted criminal in the U.S., danger was a constant companion. The more skills he had, the higher his chances of survival.
