Chapter 1219: The Saurian King
-----
At the center of the Wild and Untamed Jungles, there was a large concentration of old and ancient ruins, once overtaken by nature, they had been mostly cleansed of plants and roots, and pavement had been created around the ruins, unifying them once more into what seemed to be a makeshift city.
At the center, a huge pyramid made using large gray stones mined from the ruins was being made by thousands of people, their appearances varying from person to person, but all seemed human-like, with brown skin, yellow or green eyes, sometimes blue, and also fur and claws.
They looked exhausted beneath the strong sun of the rainforest, making things even more difficult. Their legs tied with chains, unable to sprint away if they wanted. Their bodies mostly covered with scars, torture to make them obedient.
"Hahh… Hahh… I-I can't… anymore…"
One of the old men among the various groups complained, falling to the ground, unable to move the large stones they were forced to carry around anymore.
"M-My body… It hurts everywhere… please stop this… I can't…"
"Old man, stand up!"
"You can't do this!"
"Ah! They're coming!"
The slaves by his side quickly escaped, hiding behind the stone as they saw a pair of huge men, twice as big as them step in, covered with green scales, and possessing long, thick tails.
They were human-like, but their brown skin had hard scales that worked like armor, and they were also naturally larger and stronger, with reptilian features.
Alongside them, there were also a couple of other men like them, although they were riding giant velociraptor-like mutants monitoring the area.
"What is the meaning of this?"
"Stand up!"
"P-Please… I-I am so exhausted… and thirsty that I-"
BAAM!
However, the old man was only greeted with a kick on his face, making him scream in agony as he rolled over the floor.
"Uuggh… Arrgh…"
"Old man!"
"Wait, this is wrong…!"
"B-But if we interfere, we'll suffer the same fate!"
The other three, younger men cowered in fear, glancing at the two scaled warriors beginning to beat the old man with punches, kicks, and their tails working like whips.
"Uugh…! Aarrgh…! P-Please… don't… Uuagh!"
"If you're not going to work anymore…"
"Then we'll dispose of you, and your body can become the food for the dinosaurs."
Your journey continues at My Virtual Library Empire
"Be grateful that even after death, you're going to be useful."
As they were about to finish off the old man, one of the young men screamed.
"STOOOP!"
He rushed forward, unable to contain his anger anymore, as he jumped over the back of one of the saurian and started biting their neck.
"Aarrggh! You damn monkeys!"
"Uuuggh!"
The young man tried to bite his neck off, but the scales were as tough as steel, his teeth were being broken as he tried to bite!
"I-It's too tough?!"
BAAM!
Before he could fight anymore, he was thrown down and then, a strong stomp into his head reached him, leaving him unconscious and almost dead.
"Agh…! No…!"
As the old man screamed, from the distance, someone watched, above a large, abandoned tower, the ruins of an ancient civilization.
A gigantic tree had taken root above this skyscraper, strengthening its foundations, creating a huge fortress which was modeled on its interior to fit him.
"Hmmm, the creation of the pyramid is going rather slower… The slaves are growing weary, it seems," another person in the room spoke. "What do you think, your majesty?"
"Hmph."
A huge man of over three meters of height remained in silence, glancing from above on top of his throne built from the bones of many giant mutants.
His body was muscular, with dark brown skin, although mostly covered with stone-like brown scales, unlike the rest whose scales were green.
He had a pair of reptilian horns above his forehead, and big reptilian eyes, with long black hair, his face seemed to have a slight amount of annoyance in its expression.
"This is nothing," he spoke. "Through fear they will learn. As they see the weakest and dumbest ones die, only the smart, obedient ones will remain. Those that know that fighting back is futile."
"Is that so?" The person at his side wondered, much different being altogether, resembling a contemporary human. A young man with a slender figure, a delicate face, blue eyes and short white hair, wearing a completely white and black uniform.
"I recognize you've helped me a lot in reaching where I am," said the Saurian King. "But aside from your pretty face, what else do you offer to me now, outsider?"
"Aren't I the one that taught you how to tame the mutants?" laughed the young man. "Don't look down on me please, your majesty. More importantly, the pyramid should be finished soon. I believe we don't have enough time."
"Enough time…?" the King asked.
"I've already told you for what, and you know well too, your majesty," the young man said. "If you don't want to become like those monsters at the end, you'll want to escape as well right? To the stars."
"Is the prophecy you've told me even real?" asked the Saurian King. "If that's-"
"It's real," the young man's expression changed, becoming so serious his face looked uglier for some reason, darkening. "The world will be destroyed by them. They're coming. And we won't be able to do anything about that. The only way to survive is to escape, your majesty. The pyramid will harness the Soul Stone's powers, and reignite the ancient satellites of mankind, allowing us to connect to the ancient data lost in time, so we can finally do the last finishing touches to our arc…"
"…" the king remained in silence. "Then it will be hastened."
He walked out of the tower, jumping off the window.
"CRYAAAH!"
A giant pterodactyl-like mutant appeared, catching him as he fell and flying towards the city, descending into the ground.
His giant mount, his powerful size and muscles, it all sent shivers down the spines of all slaves.
Blue-colored energy emerged from his hands, as he sent them towards all slaves.
"Hurry! Work harder, slaves!"
