Chapter 180: My True Form
I looked up at the crying Hope in her true form, and said, "You haven't seen my full vampire form yet."
I concentrated and allowed the beast within to take over. I grew wings, claws, even talons this time. I felt the shape of my face change as it grew more animalistic. I ended up just over 3 meters tall myself.
Now I was staring down slightly at Hope, and said, "You are not a monster. You are beautiful and unique. I like you. I know it won't happen overnight, but I hope someday you come to see yourself as I see you. Amazing."
I smiled as best I could with the shape of my face.
Hope looked up at me and said, "You really are amazing. You know that?"
"What did I do? I just said the truth," I said.
"I know. And that's what's so amazing about you. You show people how much you care, and you really do care," she said.
"I do," I said. I tried to kiss her, and she kissed me back. I looked deep into her diamond eyes and said, "Do you feel any better?"
"Much better," she said, smiling.
"Good. Because I have to go to talk to someone now," I said.
"Don't kill her," Hope said.
"I won't," I said. I walked over and sat down by Lisa, who was still laying on the floor. "Why don't you try to call your buddy Pete for help?"
"I'd rather not take advice from a monster like you, but that's a good idea," she said. She grabbed her radio from her belt and put it up to her mouth. She tried pressing the talk button, but she frowned.
"What's wrong?" I said.
"The talk button. I can't press it in. It won't click," she said.
"Well, it can't click if it's already pressed in," I said.
"What do you mean?" She said, and then understanding spread across her face. "You bastard! You've been broadcasting our conversation this whole time?"
"Yep," I said, smiling. "Not too bright, are you? Always turn your radio off when you're going to say things you don't want others to hear."
There was a knock on the door. It was Pete. He was holding a pair of cuffs and pointing at Lisa. I let the wall of knives drop, which let Pete open the door.
Pete grabbed Lisa and said, "You're under arrest for… something. Being a bad cop." After cuffing her, Pete handed off Lisa to Paul. "Take her and put her in the back of a car and let her stew. She needs a good time out."
Paul took Lisa away. He stared at me and Hope with his mouth open as he walked away, but it wasn't in terror. It was in awe.
Pete craned his neck to look me in the eyes. He looked at Hope some too, but then his eyes went back to mine. "Wow. So this is what real monsters look like. Interesting. Is it true you can turn humans into vampires like you?"
"Yes, but they'd have to do a lot of training to get this particular form." I used my hands to gesture at my current 3 meter tall self. "If anyone wants to be a vampire and have a big dick like me, I'm happy to do it, but they'd have to join my army and fight the coming invasion of monsters in a month. And you can't go out in the sun anymore."
"Every time you talk you say something else I don't quite understand," Pete said. "Wait, so is that why everything's going haywire? A coming invasion?"

"Yeah, pretty much," I said.
"I'll float it by the boys, but most of them probably won't go for it. The only one I think might say yes is James. He's the one who asked to touch your gigantic balls," Pete said.
"He's welcome to join if he wants. He still can't touch my balls though," I said.
"Duly noted," Pete said. "I'll let him know. So, you can take a look around the crime scene. Try not to touch anything without gloves. There's gloves on a table in the vault. And I'd suggest you guys go back to being normal human sized, because you won't fit in the vault otherwise. As I said before, as long as you report your findings to me, and let me take all the credit for your discoveries, I'm happy to give you access."
"Thank you, Pete," I said, as I started sizing myself back down. "I will remember this. I might send the police station some adventuring gear, in case you want to go tackle any of the dungeons under the city and get cool rewards from them."
"I'll let the boys know. I'm sure they'll be excited about that. Many of them became cops because they wanted to be knights as a kid and this was the closest thing that they could get to that," Pete said. "So adventuring would probably be right up their alley."
'System. What's the number they can call to get a hold of me? Is it just my cell number?'
[No, actually it's easier than that. They just have to think about calling you, and then I send the number directly into their minds, they type it in, and they can call you]
'That won't explode their brains will it?'
[That little information? No, it won't. I just can't download a full system into their brains. Then their brains will explode, metaphorically speaking]
"All you have to do to get a hold of me, is think about calling me, Dylan, and then the number will come to you," I said.
"Is that a vampire thing too?" Pete said.
"No that's something else, but I won't go into it. It would be too confusing," I said.
"Ok. Well, I'll be waiting out here. Let me know what you find," Pete said.
"Will do," I said. I grabbed Hope's bracelet off the ground and handed it to her.
"But I'll be naked," she said.
"You're naked now," I said.
"Yeah, but I'll be human naked," she said. "Elemental naked is normal. Human naked is illegal and shameful for some reason that I don't understand."
"I'll get you some new clothes," I said. I summoned clothes from the system and handed them to her. "Go around the corner and change when you get small again."
"Ok," she said.
I summoned clothes for myself as well, since I was currently naked. My clothes had exploded off me in my transformation. In just a few minutes, we were both dressed again, and ready to go.
I hooked my arm in hers, and said, "Let's go solve a crime."
We walked towards the bank vault.
