Chapter 721: Yiru’s Return
After sorting through his thoughts, Ye Fei felt a weight lift off his chest. He laughed heartily, then quickly moved to sit between Ye Ningshuang and Ye Ningbing, wrapping his arms around their slender waists.
He planted a kiss on each of their cheeks and said, "Thank you both so much. I'd have been a nervous wreck without your advice."
Though the sisters were aware of each other's relationship with Ye Fei, this was the first time they'd been so intimately close to him together.
Their cheeks flushed slightly, but Ye Ningshuang, ever the composed elder sister, quickly regained her calm. She asked, "What's your next move?"
"Isn't it obvious? I'll find her as soon as possible and bring her back!" Ye Fei declared his eagerness to reunite with Ye Ningxue palpable.
However, Ye Ningshuang shook her head. "I think you should locate her and arrange for her protection, but it's best not to rush bringing her back.
Give her some time to calm down. Pushing her too hard might trigger her rebellious side.
Despite her age, she can still think like a teenager sometimes."
Ye Fei understood her point. Among the three sisters, only Ye Ningshuang was truly mature. Ye Ningxue and Ye Ningbing were both prone to impulsiveness and emotional turmoil.
Ye Ningbing, for instance, had once reacted drastically when she discovered Ye Fei had manipulated her.
Ye Ningxue was similar, as evidenced by last night's events. Ye Fei knew better than to pressure her too much. As Ye Ningshuang suggested, giving her space was the wiser choice.
"In that case, I'll arrange for her protection," Ye Fei said, his hands playfully pinching the sisters' chests before he stood up, laughing as they protested.
He wasn't opposed to the idea of a threesome with the sisters, but his concern for Ye Ningxue's safety overshadowed his desires. Besides, he had a grander plan in mind—a foursome with all three sisters once Ye Ningxue returned. That, he imagined, would be even more exhilarating.
Having already experienced the thrill of being with the four sisters at home, Ye Fei's next goal was to bring the Liu sisters together.
However, with Liu Yiru currently away from Wanghai, that plan had to wait. Little did he know, an opportunity was about to present itself.
Back at the headquarters of the Lingyun Society, Ye Fei immediately issued a new order: once Ye Ningxue was found, she was not to be disturbed. Her location was to be reported directly to him.
With that taken care of, Ye Fei found himself with some free time. He wasn't overly worried, as he had full confidence in his subordinates.
Even if Ye Ningxue left the country, he could ensure her safety.
While the Lingyun Society's influence hadn't yet spread globally, that was by choice rather than limitation.
Ye Fei wasn't driven by ambition; he simply wanted a peaceful life with those he loved. Once he had the means to protect them, he saw no need for further expansion, though he wouldn't hesitate to unleash his power if provoked.
Given Ye Ningxue's unique status, even Ye Xuan personally took charge of the search. Key figures in the society, like Zhang Yide and Baldie, mobilized their networks in the major cities of the southeast.
Photos of Ye Ningxue were distributed to nearly every member of the Lingyun Society.
Despite the extensive efforts, it wasn't until the afternoon that they finally received a lead. Ye Ningxue hadn't taken a plane or train out of Wanghai—she'd left by bus.
By the time the society's informants tracked her down, she was already in a small city hundreds of kilometers northwest of Wanghai.
Relieved to finally know her whereabouts, Ye Fei immediately dispatched over two hundred skilled operatives to the city to protect her in secret.
After all, a woman of her beauty, alone in an unfamiliar place without any martial arts training, was in a vulnerable position.
Just as Ye Fei was catching his breath, his phone rang. Glancing at the screen, he saw an unfamiliar landline number from Wanghai.
This puzzled him, as his number was known only to his closest confidants and a few high-ranking members of the Lingyun Society.
Curious, he answered, "Hello, who's this?"
"Sweetheart, did you miss Mommy?"
The voice on the other end was one he knew intimately, instantly transporting him back over a decade to when he was just four or five years old.
Back then, the Liu family wasn't as prosperous as it is now, and Liu Yiru, who had taken over the family business, often traveled for work. Every time she called home, she'd ask him this same question.
It had been a month—the longest Ye Fei had ever been apart from his mother. Since their relationship had evolved, he'd made it a point to keep her close.
This past month, he'd missed her intensely, often tempted to rush to the Kong family to see her.
But various responsibilities had kept him grounded, forcing him to suppress his longing. Now, hearing her voice, that pent-up emotion surged uncontrollably.
Mom's finally back! The thought echoed in Ye Fei's mind like a thunderclap, leaving him momentarily speechless. After a pause, he managed to ask, "Where are you?"
Though they were still far apart, Liu Yiru somehow sensed the depth of Ye Fei's longing in those four simple words. Her heart swelled with emotion, but with others around, she had to keep her composure.
"I'm at the Southeast Airport. What about you?"
"I'm at headquarters. I'll come get you right away!" Ye Fei said, already on his feet and heading for the door.
"No need. I'm closer than you are," Liu Yiru chuckled. "Just head home. We'll meet there."
"Okay, okay!"
Ye Fei agreed eagerly. In that moment, he shed his usual suave demeanor and the commanding presence of a society leader, acting instead like a lovestruck teenager.
He rushed out, oblivious to the astonished looks from the society members who were accustomed to his usual calm and collected self.
