Chapter 640 Rescue Treatment
Chang Anding dutifully poured a cup of tea for Qin Hao, who smiled and said, "Thank you, Ms. Zhou."
Zhou Zhen looked at him and then at Chang Jing, whose cheeks flushed with red. She couldn't explain her situation with Qin Hao.
Qin Hao just wanted to vent the frustration he had felt initially. If they didn't let him vent, there was no chance he'd agree to treat Grandpa's illness.
Chen Shengjun asked, "Xiao Hao, are you confident you can cure Mr. Zhou's illness?"
Everyone turned their attention to him. This was the question they were all most concerned about. If Qin Hao really could cure Mr. Zhou, then the Chang Family might overlook the matter between him and Chang Jing.
Qin Hao replied, "I need to examine the patient before I can say anything."
Zhou Zhen stood up anxiously, "Let's go see him now."
The Chang Family led Qin Hao into the bedroom where Grandpa Chang Jianwu lay on the sickbed, his complexion waxen and an oxygen mask covering his face. Tears streamed down Chang Jing's face when she saw her grandfather's condition.
Qin Hao walked over, checked the pulse, and everyone from the Chang Family watched him intently.
Chen Shengjun asked, "How is it, Xiao Hao?"
Qin Hao spoke indifferently, "It's not a serious problem. Could you all step outside for a moment?"
Upon hearing this, the Chang Family faces lit up with joy. Did this mean he had a way to save the elder? Zhou Zhen and the others left the room.
Qin Hao took out a bottle of life elixir from his system inventory and, removing Mr. Chang's oxygen mask, poured it into his mouth.
He stayed in the bedroom for a full half-hour and then gave himself two injections, appearing to be drenched in sweat with a pale face.
When he walked out, the Chang Family was taken aback by his pallor.
Chang Jing hurried over to support him, "Qin Hao, are you alright?"
Qin Hao, weakly, said, "I'm fine, just a bit tired. I need some rest."
Chang Jing replied, "I'll help you to the room to rest for a while." After saying this, she helped Qin Hao into the room she used to live in at that house.
Upon entering the room, Qin Hao detected a faint, refreshing fragrance that was revitalizing.
She carefully laid Qin Hao on the bed and then asked, "How is my Grandpa doing?"
Qin Hao responded, "He's alright now, and should wake up after some time."
The faces of the Chang Family members brightened with relief. That was excellent news. Grandpa Chang Jianwu was of crucial importance to the current state of the Chang Family. His well-being meant that Chang Anbang and Chang An Country could hope to make further progress.
They were already significant figures in the region. Making the next step meant entering the real center of power.
Zhou Zhen, upon hearing her husband was alright, finally let her worries subside, "Xiao Hao, have a good rest, we won't disturb you."
They left and first went to check on Mr. Chang.
Seeing him in this state, Chang Jing felt somewhat guilty. Clearly, Qin Hao had expended a great deal of energy to save her Grandpa. "I'm going to see my Grandpa first, then I'll come back to keep you company," she said.
Qin Hao, clutching her hand, showed a pale smile, "Alright, go ahead."
Latter, Qin Hao fell asleep without realizing it.
In the living room, Zhou Zhen and the others, having checked on the elder, sat on the sofa to wait for him to wake up.
Unable to hold back, Chang Anding asked, "Mom, what about Xiao Jing's situation? She's the mistress of our Chang Family; how can she be the 'other woman'?"
Zhou Zhen replied, "Let's discuss this matter after your dad wakes up, I really don't know what to do."
Then, she looked at Chen Shengjun and asked, "What do you think, brother-in-law?"
Chen Shengjun hesitated for a moment before saying, "Elder sister, I think if Xiao Jing doesn't object, we should just let nature take its course."
Let nature take its course?
Chang Anding was stunned for a moment, "Uncle, this is no trivial matter. It affects the face of our Chang Family. Even if we agree, would the Xu Family agree to it?"
Chen Shengjun: "Qin Hao originally had a girlfriend, and the Xu Family's girl was the third party involved. However, this old guy acted early and secured a legitimate status for his daughter."
...
Chang Anbang expressed his surprise, "Mr. Xu can tolerate that with his explosive temper?"
Both Chang Anbang and Chang Anding found it somewhat unbelievable. Xu Liangguo was known for his volatile temper. Nobody dared to provoke him; he was someone who would truly resort to violence.
When Xu Siyao was young, she was bullied by the son of a political bigwig in Jinchen City. Xu Liangguo went to their house, and in front of the parents, broke the man's leg.
Chen Shengjun spoke, "If the Xu Family's young lady is willing, there is nothing old Xu can do about it. That's all the help he could offer. As for threatening Qin Hao, threats from the Xu Family are useless. Qin Hao's importance to the country is growing, and without the top brass's approval, no one can touch him."
The others exchanged glances. What Chen Shengjun said was true; no one could touch Qin Hao now.
While they were talking, Chang Anding's wife, Song Cai, ran out of the bedroom, excitedly saying, "Grandpa is awake."
Zhou Zhen and the others quickly got up and entered the bedroom, where Mr. Chang sat up by himself on the hospital bed, having removed all his medical equipment.
"Old Chang, you're awake." As Zhou Zhen approached the bed, her eyes reddened slightly. They had almost been separated by life and death.
Chang Anding and others asked, "Dad, how do you feel? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?"
Chang Jianwu smiled and said, "I'm fine. In fact, I feel much better. My body feels lighter than before, as if I'm back in my forties or fifties. I remember I was sleeping. Mr. Chen, why have you all come?"
Zhou Zhen, wiping her tears, said, "At four o'clock this morning, you had a sudden cerebral hemorrhage. It was Mr. Liu and his team who resuscitated you. But they said you only had seven or eight days to live. Later, Xiao Jing came with Xiao Hao to take a look at you."
Chang Jianwu curiously asked, "Xiao Jing is back too? Which Xiao Hao is Xiao Hao?"
Chang Anding: "It's Qin Hao."
Chang Jianwu nodded thoughtfully, and Zhou Zhen said to her daughter-in-law Song Cai, "Xiao Cai, go and fetch Mr. Liu to check Grandpa again."
Within about seven or eight minutes, Song Cai brought Mr. Liu, who also brought a few assistants. They gave Chang Jianwu another full body checkup,
And Mr. Liu's frown deepened as the examination went on.
Chang Anding: "Mr. Liu, how is my dad doing?"
"How is this possible? How could he be cured? Who treated Mr. Chang?" Mr. Liu's eyes were filled with disbelief.
Upon hearing his words, Chang Jing and the others completely let go of their worries.
Chang Jianwu did not answer but instead smiled and said, "It's good that everything's fine. Thank you for your trouble, Mr. Liu. An Bang, please show Mr. Liu out."
After four o'clock in the afternoon, Qin Hao groggily opened his eyes; his complexion had returned to normal. Chang Jing wasn't in the bedroom; by now Mr. Chang should be awake, and she should be in the living room with everyone.
Qin Hao stretched lazily and got out of bed, came downstairs from the upper floor, and saw all the members of the Chang Family sitting on the couch, chatting. Upon seeing him come down, their conversation abruptly stopped.
