Chapter 152: The Intermediate State of the Bloodline
Upon hearing Minato's words, Kaguya Muzuki narrowed his eyes, carefully sizing up the smiling Fuma standing before him.
The Kaguya clan was infamous in the ninja world for their battle-crazed tendencies. However, a few individuals within the clan were adept at analyzing their enemies, and Muzuki was one of them.
His gaze shifted to the untouched ground beneath Fuma's feet, the earth that had escaped the piercing white bones of his "Dance of the Clematis".
Then, his eyes moved to Fuma's solid, muscular frame before finally settling on the gleaming black brilliance of the Sharingan in Fuma's eyes. Muzuki's lips curled into a contemptuous smile.
It wasn't arrogance but confidence—an unshakable belief in the supremacy of his "Shikotsumyaku".
In Muzuki's mind, he had already pieced together a rough understanding of Fuma's combat style, a style that his abilities would supposedly counter with ease.
"This Uchiha must have used an advanced Earth Release technique to nullify the piercing effect of my *Dance of the Clematis*. Impressive ninjutsu."
"His Sharingan is different from the usual Uchiha eyes, so he could be a genjutsu expert. I'll need to be cautious about his doujutsu. But as long as it's not a Mangekyou, it won't be too much of a problem..."
"As for his large and muscular physique? Meaningless. No matter how strong a taijutsu user might be, against the *Shikotsumyaku*, they'd be rendered utterly helpless, unable to unleash their strength..."
"I'll keep an eye on his dojutsu and ninjutsu. Once I close the distance, I'll take him down swiftly. I'll even make sure this blonde-haired Flying Thunder God user stays here as well..."
In his mind, Muzuki constructed a series of confident and detailed analyses. But with his unyielding faith in his "Shikotsumyaku", the conclusions he arrived at were nothing short of catastrophically misguided.
Meanwhile, Fuma watched Muzuki's stance with curiosity. As a master of taijutsu, he instantly recognized the preparatory movements of someone about to launch into close-quarters combat.
"Oh? He plans to fight me up close? Understood…"
Pausing for a moment, Fuma politely said, "In that case, please, make the first move."
A flash of bloodlust flickered in Muzuki's eyes. He pulled his elongated spine from his body, transforming it into a razor-sharp cleaver.
With a heavy stomp that cracked the earth, he charged forward, slashing fiercely at Fuma's neck with overwhelming ferocity.
During his charge, Muzuki calculated furiously in his mind:
"If he tries to dodge, I'll follow up immediately with another *Dance of the Clematis* and finish him off. I won't give him another chance to weave hand seals!"
*Clang!*
The sound of bone meeting flesh rang out—not the squelch Muzuki expected but the crisp chime of metal clashing.
"What?!" one of the Kaguya clan's bystanders exclaimed in shock. "How is this possible?! What technique did this guy use to withstand Muzuki-sama's *Shikotsumyaku* bone blade?"
Fuma smiled faintly, watching Muzuki's incredulous expression. With two fingers, he gently pinched the edges of the bone blade, then crushed it effortlessly.
Under Fuma's immense strength, the bone cleaver shattered like tofu, disintegrating into powder.
A breeze swept through the battlefield, carrying the remnants away, as if even the wind mocked the futility of the "Shikotsumyaku".
"Your body seems to suffer from severe calcium deficiency. This bone is as brittle as paper—how can you expect to fight with it?"
Fuma tilted his head thoughtfully. "I know someone who specializes in human body modifications. If you join us, perhaps I can arrange an introduction for you."
Muzuki's face froze in embarrassment and rage. He clenched his fists, his shame transforming into anger.
"This is no genjutsu or ninjutsu specialist. I've run into a once-in-a-century taijutsu monster!"
Fuma's voice turned sharp and decisive. "Well then, it's my turn!"
Fuma's fist tightened, his bulging muscles resembling the coiled form of a dragon preparing to strike. A dark, ominous aura of blood-red energy and black smoke surrounded his fist as it tore through the air.
Ignoring the bone spikes jutting from Muzuki's chest, Fuma unleashed a devastating punch.
*Crack! Crack! Crack!*
The sickening sound of bones snapping reverberated through the battlefield.
Fuma's fist shattered every bone obstacle in its path. The bone armor of the "Shikotsumyaku" was obliterated, and his punch landed squarely on Muzuki's chest, sending shockwaves through his body.
*BANG!*
A dull impact echoed as Kaguya Muzuki's body was sent flying, drawing a beautiful arc through the air before crashing into a deep crater over a hundred meters away.
Fuma smiled faintly, turning his gaze toward the remaining members of the Kaguya clan. The fervent battle expressions they once wore had melted away, replaced with sheer terror.
The Kaguya clan's greatest reliance was Muzuki, their clan leader. Not only was he the clan's strategic mind, but also its foremost warrior.
But now, this cornerstone of the Kaguya clan had been brought down with a single punch from Fuma…
Fuma shook his head, silently mocking the situation in his mind.
"Even my old clan leader avoided close combat with me. You, Muzuki, are nothing if not brave…"
Minato, standing to the side, wore a complicated expression. A foe he couldn't handle had been dispatched by Fuma with such ease. Was this… normal?
"Tch… To survive in the ninja world, you either need Fuma-sensei's monstrous physique or the devastating power of something like Dust Release. Relying on ordinary ninjutsu just doesn't cut it…"
"Ōnoki… I can't wait to meet you one day…"
Far away in Iwagakure, Ōnoki sneezed, unaware that he had caught the attention of a Flying Thunder God user all because a teacher decided to show off in front of his student.
........
In the crater, Kaguya Muzuki struggled to stand. Blood gushed from his mouth as his limbs twisted unnaturally, making him resemble a broken doll.
A massive, black-and-red fist imprint marred his chest. Residual blood-red energy and black smoke burned his flesh relentlessly, nearly exposing his heart.
"Such overwhelming power… How could this possibly come from an Uchiha?"
"Even the famed strength of the Senju pales in comparison… What kind of monster is this?"
Yet amidst the pain and disbelief, a twisted grin crept across Muzuki's face.
"But I'm excited. This… this is why I fight. This is the reason for my existence!"
Muzuki suddenly let out a guttural roar before crouching down, burying his head between his knees and wrapping his arms tightly around them like an infant in swaddling clothes.
From his body erupted pure white bone threads, weaving together to encase him in a massive cocoon of bone.
The Kaguya clan members watching from the sidelines gasped in astonishment.
"Could it be? Is Lord Muzuki about to transcend into that state?"
"Just like the ancient texts say! When faced with an insurmountable enemy, as long as we maintain a relentless killing intent, our bones ignite and grant us the power to destroy everything!"
"We must act now! Lord Muzuki needs our protection!"
With resolute expressions, the Kaguya clansmen exchanged glances and moved into formation. Standing before the bone cocoon, they formed a disciplined phalanx, ready to shield their leader at all costs.
Meanwhile, Fuma observed the fluctuations emanating from the cocoon. Muzuki's chakra was growing stronger, carrying a terrifying aura of destruction.
"Perhaps this is an intermediate state between the *Shikotsumyaku* and the *All-Killing Ash Bones*, something that never appeared in the original timeline…"
"Interesting…"
