Chapter 19: Chapter 19
"I'm sure it was quite hectic, apologies." Carlisle said with a soft smile as he got up, ready to show Arthur to his bedroom.
"It wasn't hectic at all, he's just as bad as Alice." Edward replied slowly, releasing the thousandth sigh of the evening.
"Sure whatever you say." Arthur said to Edward as he passed by him.
Carlisle lead Arthur to the second floor of the mansion, through a large hallway filled with white modern wooden doors on either side.
As the two walked, no conversation was made, it was clear that both of them had a similarity.
They enjoyed silence and didn't feel in the least awkward with the silence surrounding them.
A few moments later, the two arrived infront of a door situated at the end of the hallway to the right.
"Since your Alice's mate, I put your room next to your's if you want to change it however do tell Arthur." Carlisle finally spoke up as he turned to look at Arthur.
"No, it's fine as long as she doesn't lose her mind in the middle of the night and decides that I am a great midnight snack. Literally." Arthur said in return as he opened the bedroom door.
Walking inside he saw a white rood with dark wooden accents all around.
If Arthur had to give a description in one word then it would most definitely be.
'Rich'
There was no other word that could describe this bedroom better.
Everything in it clearly was designed just for this house and was hand made, that wasn't just regular expensive furniture.
It was furniture designed specifically for this room and then crafted by a master of his craft.
"Doctor, are you secretly a cartel lord?" Arthur questioned as he walked toward the large king sized bed.
Sitting on it made one feel as if they were sat on top of puffy white clouds.
"I was one around sixty or so years ago." Carlisle replied.
At his words, Arthur quickly raised his head to gaze at the man.
"I'm just joking."
"You shouldn't joke around, when you say stuff like that, it looks believable." Arthur replied, not realising that he sounded like a complete hypocrite.
With his almost emotionless expression, he looked more convincing than Carlisle when he told lies that it was hard if not almost impossible to notice when he was indeed lying.
Carlisle clearly had the same thought as he raised his eyebrow slightly before releasing a small chuckle.
"Allright, now then I'll leave you to sleep, goodnight Arthur." Carlisle said as he turned around and left the room, closing the door behind him.
Arthur immediately laid down on the bed and closed his eyes, thinking about white sheep jumping over a fence so that he could lull himself to sleep. It was a tast of importance as when stuck inside a room and laid on the bed, it was the time where his mind wandered the most and with a telepath in the house, that certainly wasn't what Arthur wanted.
Thankfully he had found that his control over his thoughts was much better than he had thought possible.
"Must be another enhancement." Arthur mumbled before quickly shaking his head and reigning his thoughts in once more back to the fence and the white jumping sheep.
'One sheep, two sheep, three sheep….' It didn't take more than two minutes before Arthur was out cold on the bed, sleeping soundly.
On the other side of the house, Edward had a complex expression on his face.
"What's wrong?" Esme questioned as she was cooking something in the kitchen.
"It feels like i've made a grave mistake brining that guy here." Edward replied as he sat down on the kitchen table.
"Why? Do you not like him?" Carlisle questioned as he arrived downstairs.
"It's not about liking him or not liking him, it's about the fact that he's attitude and thoughts are almost a replica of Alice besides being a bit, no a lot more emotionless and dull." Edward said as he crossed his arms and lied back against the chair.
"He sure is interesting, If what your saying is true than I can think of a couple mental disseases." Carlisle replied as he walked toward the counter in the kitchen and took out what looked like a wine bottle.
Instead of wine however it was filled with animal blood that he kept around.
"Do you want a drink?" Carlisle questioned as he poured the blood into a wine glass.
"No." Edward replied as he got up and started heading outside of the mansion.
"You know that he doesn't like drinking blood Carlisle." Esme said as she released a sigh.
"If only he could finally accept that being a vampire doesn't make one a monster." Carlisle said as he took a sip, his eyes closing in contemplation about the entire matter around Arthur aswell as Edward, the man who thought of himself as nothing more than a monster.
"He just needs to find his mate." Esme said before both her and Carlisle turned toward the front door of the mansion.
In almost an instant four blurry figures entered into the living room.
"Edward's mate, she's coming!" Alice said as she practically jumped up in excitement.
Esme almost couldn't hold herself black as she brought her hand to her mouth, if she had been able to then she would have already shed tears of joy.
A moment later however Alice, Emmet, Jasper and Rosalie turned towards the front door once more.
There stood Edward with a frown on his face.
"I'm not meeting them, end of story." Edward announced, his voice cold.
