Transmigration: The Peerless Immortal Husband

Chapter 192 - Underground Magma

Tian Feirong’s revelation brought a wave of excitement to the group. After days of searching, the breakthrough might finally come through tracking these insects. Chi Changye immediately commanded, “Follow them. We’ll find their nest and trace the source.”

The presence of the Azure Flame aura on the insects strongly suggested a connection to their nest, rather than a mere chance encounter. If it were just a random exposure, these creatures wouldn’t have survived the flame’s destructive power. It was likely their nest lay in a place naturally infused with the flame’s energy.

Without hesitation, the four cloaked their presence and trailed the insects. These creatures and the toxic plants nearby relied on sensing spiritual energy to hunt prey.

They watched as three surviving cultivators fled in desperation. Two met the same grim fate as their companions, devoured until nothing remained but bones, which were also quickly stripped away by the swarming creatures. The sole survivor was the one who had previously sabotaged his comrade. Using a teleportation talisman, he vanished without a trace.

Tian Feirong and the little fat man silently vowed to show no mercy if they encountered that person again.

With their prey gone, the insect swarm hovered for a moment, then turned on each other in a vicious frenzy before gradually retreating.

At first, the chaotic mix of creatures made it difficult for Tian Feirong to pinpoint the exact ones carrying the Azure Flame aura. But as the swarm dispersed, he identified them—dark red, fire-elemental beetles. While these types were common in the Death Desert, prolonged exposure to the Azure Flame had clearly strengthened them compared to others.

Eventually, the swarm disappeared beneath the shifting sands. The little fat man activated his earth-escape technique, bringing the group underground. Guided by Tian Feirong’s keen sense for the Azure Flame, they tunneled deeper until they finally reached an underground magma chamber.

If not for the guidance of the insect swarm, this place would have been extremely difficult to locate.

The insects’ nest was on the outer perimeter of this region. The deeper they ventured, the more formidable the creatures became—ranging from stronger insects and toxic plants to powerful fire-element beasts.

The four were not here to fight these creatures but to search for the entrance to the ancient site. Chi Changye released the oppressive pressure of his Golden Core cultivation, forcing the insects and plants to reluctantly retreat, clearing the path toward the magma’s depths.

Tian Feirong, immersed in this fiery environment, was like a fish in water. If one opened their spiritual eye, countless glowing red sparks could be seen settling on him, automatically absorbed into his body. Training here would undoubtedly yield rapid improvement and a significant power boost.

Their path was soon blocked by a formidable beast—a large fire toad with bumpy skin, believing its environmental advantage would deter the intruders. The toad’s dark red tongue, coated in a highly corrosive, fire-infused venom, shot toward Gu Yao, who was walking beside Chi Changye. With a flick of his hand, Chi Changye deflected the attack, causing the venom to splatter against the wall and corrode it instantly, leaving pits wherever it touched.

“Scram!” Chi Changye’s voice, imbued with thunderous power, directly assaulted the fire toad’s spirit. Trembling, the creature retreated and leaped into the bubbling, searing magma below.

The little fat man carefully stood at the edge of the magma, feeling like he could be roasted alive. His crystal snake had already retreated into the spirit beast pouch, unable to withstand the heat. Watching the fire toad swim in the magma, the little fat man threw in a stone, which melted instantly.

He nervously rubbed his neck, imagining the same fate for himself if he fell in. Eyeing Tian Feirong with suspicion, he asked, “You’re not going to say the entrance is beneath this magma, are you?”

Tian Feirong, thoroughly comfortable in the environment despite his earlier unease, grinned mischievously. “Why don’t you stay here alone while Chi Changye and I go check it out?”

That confirmed it—the entrance was indeed under the magma. The little fat man felt defeated. No wonder no one had found the ancient Yanyun City site; even if they made it this far, who would willingly dive into magma?

“I’m sticking with Chi Changye!” he declared firmly.

Jumping in might not guarantee death, but staying alone up top certainly would. Without Chi Changye’s Golden Core suppression keeping the surrounding dangers at bay, the lurking creatures would devour him in no time.

“Let’s go; we have to try,” Chi Changye said, pulling Gu Yao along as he leaped into the magma without hesitation. Gu Yao followed instinctively, not questioning his impulse to go wherever Chi Changye led.

Tian Feirong and the little fat man quickly followed, leaping into the protective barrier sustained by Chi Changye’s spiritual energy. The thunder-imbued shield provided significant resistance against the surrounding magma. Upon entering, Tian Feirong extended his own Fiery Flame energy around the barrier, causing the oppressive heat to subside. The little fat man and Gu Yao, who had felt on the verge of being roasted, immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Moments after they left the shore, rustling noises erupted behind them as numerous creatures crawled out from hiding. The little fat man stole a glance before swiftly turning away, reaffirming his earlier decision—had he stayed above, those creatures would have devoured him in no time.

The glowing blue and purple energy shield descended slowly into the magma. Sensing the overwhelming aura of Fiery Flame energy, the lurking fire toads quickly vanished.

Tian Feirong then summoned the ‘Wan Crow Pot’, a spiritual tool he had obtained in the Cangkun Secret Realm, and released it outside the barrier. The jar immediately began absorbing fiery energy from the magma.

Gu Yao beamed. “This is the perfect place to refine the ‘Wan Crow Pot’.”

Tian Feirong grinned. “I just realized that too. I should have taken it out earlier.” Pointing ahead, he added, “Chi Changye, this way. The energy signature is getting stronger as we go.”

With the ‘Wan Crow Pot’ absorbing much of the fiery energy, the pressure on Chi Changye significantly lessened. After a while, a sudden blue glow appeared in front of them.

“That’s the purest form of Fiery Blue Flame energy!” Tian Feirong exclaimed. “Let’s go check it out.”

Chi Changye’s expression grew serious. “It’s pulling us in. The suction force is intensifying. Be ready. Gu Yao, hold on to me.”

“Got it.”

When Chi Changye released his control, the pull became palpable. The group barely had time to react before being forcefully dragged forward. Fortunately, they soon regained control of their movements. The surrounding magma disappeared, replaced by solid ground beneath their feet. Fire-element spiritual energy filled the air—it felt like an entirely different world.

The little fat man and Gu Yao stared in amazement at the landscape around them—there were mountains, rivers, and even beasts peeking out from the forest, warily observing the intruders.

“This doesn’t look like an ancient site,” Gu Yao muttered. “Is this a secret realm? The Yan Clan must have owned a hidden dimension like this!”

Had Yanyun City not been destroyed, Tian Feirong’s status would have been drastically different—a true heir of a powerful noble family.

Chi Changye nodded and turned to Tian Feirong. “This must be a secret realm. It seems only those who possess the Blue Flame constitution and have cultivated Fiery Flame energy can unlock and be drawn into it.”

Tian Feirong’s expression was dazed, as if grappling with a sudden revelation. “That… sounds about right.”

It was like discovering overnight that the poor boy he thought he was actually belonged to a family of immense wealth.

Gu Yao patted him on the shoulder. “Snap out of it. Since we’re here, let’s explore and see what we can find.”

Tian Feirong took a deep breath and smiled. “Right! There could be some amazing treasures here. Let’s go.”

Under Tian Feirong’s direction, the four flew onward. Gu Yao recalled visiting the ancestral grounds of the Shi Clan, which could only be opened by those of Shi bloodline—a small secret realm of its own. This place, accessible only through the Blue Flame constitution, seemed to operate on a similar principle.

Thinking about the fate of the Shi family, Gu Yao felt that the sudden destruction of Yanyun City was likely not only the work of the force secretly controlling the City Lord’s Manor. It was highly possible that Changxian Sect had also sent cultivators to directly participate in the massacre. Otherwise, it would be impossible for such an event to occur with almost no news leaking out. Only the cultivators from Changxian Sect would have had the absolute strength to suppress the mighty Yan Clan back then.

Gu Yao voiced his thoughts, and Chi Changye wasn’t surprised. Tian Feirong, however, clenched his fists upon hearing this. He was even more convinced of this theory, because now that he had gradually mastered the Blue Flame, he understood that the Yan family was definitely not weak. For such a powerful force to vanish overnight, it was something that the various factions on Tianlin Continent could not have achieved. Only that foreign power could have done it.

Damn Changxian Sect!

During their journey, Gu Yao discovered many fire-attribute spiritual herbs, some of which were rare outside and could be used to refine pills that helped fire-type cultivators increase their cultivation. However, exploring this secret realm was the priority, so the herbs would have to wait.

After traveling for a while, they realized that they had landed on the outskirts of the area. The surrounding spiritual energy contained multiple attributes, but the further they flew inward, the more concentrated the fire-attribute energy became. Eventually, the green energy diminished, and the world turned completely red. Tian Feirong, without hesitation, absorbed the fire-attribute spiritual energy, making the little fat man envious. After this trial, Tian Feirong’s cultivation would definitely increase significantly, and the little fat man would fall behind again.

Gu Yao’s main spiritual roots were both fire and wood, so he could also absorb and cultivate with the pure fire-attribute spiritual energy here.

Soon, they saw a row of buildings ahead. Further in, it appeared to be surrounded by a barrier that could not be seen through, so they decided to descend and take a closer look.
